"I was looking for a high quality laptop replacement, and I found it at Puget Custom Computers. It, so far, has been an excellent laptop - I could not have asked for anything more. It is absolutely outstanding."
"Simply said, Puget Systems is terrific. Second time I've ordered a computer. The first time was 6/2/03 (invoice #0002209). The one purchased in 2003 lasted until this very day, 8+ years!!
The new one, Spirit intel edition, is better than advertised.
I ordered the Intel Core i5 CPU, Kingston 8GB RAM, 2 hard drives(intel 320 160gb SATA SSD for programs and Western Digital Caviar 1.0TB SATA for files). This set up is very very quiet and it's not even the Serenity!
I'm not an IT guy, but very easy to load up my programs and move my files from the old computer.
I intend for this computer to last another 8 years, so price wise over 8 years, very reasonable price.
Puget Systems was extremely helpful during the build phase and also with questions I had post purchase. Customer service gets an A+!
Needless to say, I highly recommend Puget Systems to create your computer."
"Puget systems is, in a word, awesome. I was originally sold on Digital Storm and pretty darn close to making an order before I did a search for custom computer companies. I recognized the name Puget because I live in the Seattle, WA area. I looked up reviews on resellerratings and they had an even better score than Digital Storm (and Digital Storm has good reviews, too). Something about Puget just "felt right" though, so I ultimately went with them.
When I started customizing and playing with different settings on the customization area of their website, a popup came up with a sales representative (I believe it was William) wanting to talk and ask questions. I was rather taken aback and at first thought it was a bot of some sort, but sure enough, he was flesh and blood on the other end. I told him the kind of computer I wanted, my budget, and what kind of computing I do. I saved the order for a later date. I then went back about a week later, and I further talked to William through email, and he did a fantastic job answering all of my questions, and did so in a timely manner as well.
I then finally walked into their office on December 23rd (it was a Christmas present), since I live about 20 minutes away, ready to place the order. I wasn't able to pay the full amount, so they allowed me to pay half at the time of placing the order, and the other half when it was ready to be picked up, which was my favorite part about the whole thing. (Truth be told: it's my dad that payed for the whole thing, and he was sketchy and skeptical, but I assured him I did a more than adequate amount of research; needless to say we walked away from ordering very satisfied at the early steps of the process.)
I was extremely excited as I watched the progress of the computer as it was being built in real time. I ordered it on December 23rd and it was ready December 28th. As we walked into the office to pick it up, William gave me a "tour" of the chassis, packaged it up, and we were on our way. The build quality is top notch; you can definitely tell they put a lot of heart and effort into each and every system. I have had my computer for nearly a month and it runs like a dream.
Overall, Puget is FANTASTIC. You WILL NOT be sorry or disappointed, and if you are, it's your fault. "
"8/28/13 - UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW.
HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM AFTER 20 MONTHS WITH THIS COMPUTER. INTEL 320 160GB SATA II 2.5INCH SSD DRIVE CRASHED. NOT BLAMING PUGET BUT WOULD ADVISE AGAINST THIS SSD DRIVE.
Puget Systems built exactly what I was looking for! By no means am I a computer whiz, I'm a middle-aged salesman who runs a small rep agency and use my computer every day to e-mail, internet searches, prepare reports and quotes and maintain an extensive database of customers. It all started by searching through all the major computer manufacturers and resellers - Dell, Apple, HP, Toshiba, Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct and on and on. These are the places that I've only bought from before - but couldn't find exactly what I thought I needed. I've owned many Dell's, HP's, Toshiba's, Lenovo's in the past and they all worked but all were loaded up with all the junk programming that I believe would eventually cost the performance of the machine. So after a little searching - I found Puget and so far I'm extremely happy. From the beginning, William in Customer Support helped me select the cabinet config, processor, drive space, etc. - we addressed all of the things that were important to me - small box (Echo I), fast (Intel Core i5 2.5 ghz/8GB RAM), 160 GB SSD drive (never had this before - nice!), and has all of the connections I need. Only the required software was loaded on, ie required drivers and Windows 7. I've loaded Quicken 10 and Microsoft Office 10 with a couple still to do. For me - this unit is super fast, boots up and down in under 30 sec, is super quiet( a fan runs all the time but I swear you can NOT hear it) and sits proudly up on my desk taking up less than 1/2 sq ft of footprint. Yes, I probably paid about $300 more than the Dell I probably would have bought - BUT - when I call in for service, I'm calling them in Auburn, WA and speaking with a direct company employee, I have lifetime tech support and I got exactly what I wanted. I think these guys are on to something and highly recommend that you e-mail them, call them, consider them before you make your final decesion.
Thanks Puget Systems!

"Wonderful and responsive."
"I ordered a Genesis from Puget Systems to replace a tired old PC that was on its last legs. They made it easy to configure a system, and told exactly what it would cost. After the order was in, I was given a number that let me track every minute detail of the process on their web site. Upon shipping, I was e-mailed photos of the completed machine, inside and out. We hear a lot about lack of transparency these days, but these people are very transparent and a joy to work with.
Late December is probably not the best time to order something this sensitive, and through no fault of Puget Systems, the shipper misrouted and damaged the computer. Puget couldn't have been more helpful. They started building me a replacement even before they got the damaged one back.
When it arrived there was an issue with one of my powered USB peripherals and it tripped off the power supply. I called their service number, and got someone I'm pretty sure is the owner of the company. He talked me right through the process and my computer was happily running within minutes. I'm typing this on it.
They sent me a whole list of benchmarks, various games and such, but I have my own way of benchmarking systems. I give them a huge fractal render in FLAM3 and watch the processors max out. This box barely noticed. It cranked all 12 logical CPUs to 90% and 45 seconds later out came my fractal with no sound, fury, or keeping the room warm. This one had taken an hour to render on my old box.
I'd recommend these people in a second. They're a good experience all around."
"These guys are fantastic! William did a great job helping me configure a system that suits my needs, without trying to upsell me on things I don't need.
My PC is cool, quiet, stable and of course FAST!
Thanks!"
"Absolutely perfect. Everything they said it would be. I was impressed every step of the way.
Thank you so much. You guys are awesome."
"During the first part of Dec 2011, I started the process of searching for a new PC. I am by no means an expert but I do have a fairly good knowledge of computers, components, drives, cases etc. I spent a lot of time researching web sites and putting together possible configurations that fit my needs and budget. When I came across the Puget site I found it easy to navigate and not overloaded with so many parts that you begin to wonder what is compatible with what. This stood out.
Puget has a 24 hour professional review that only requires that you tell them how you plan to use the PC and what your approximate budget is. Jeff S was the consultant that I dealt with and I found him to be knowledgeable and prompt with e-mail responses. It’s so rare to get a same day response…I was getting responses within the hour ?. We finalized my quote within two days (this was time for me to think it over) and Jeff actually found a way to get the PC included in their holiday pricing structure.
The tracking system the company uses is innovative and keeps you thoroughly involved throughout the entire build process. I was able to view parts status, benchmarks, thermal imaging, pictures of my computer and QC reports. When the PC was ready for shipping I was e-mailed a tracking number and copy of the original invoice.
The packing materials used were excellent and the computer arrived intact and actually one day early (Thanks Fed Ex). All of the spare parts and documentation accompanied the PC along with a nice binder that included the benchmarking information, set up info, invoice, all of the driver media and the original windows 7 pro DVD. They also included a build image (restore) disk.
I have not needed their tech support department and hopefully will not. I did however discover through my research that they are well known for their technical abilities and problem solving skills. One thing that really is near and dear to me is the fact that they do not out-source…you will speak to a Puget tech.
My new computer is fast, quiet, runs quite cool and with the transparent side window looks great as well. I have not had to remove any bloat ware in fact I had to add a few games that I enjoy (Mahjong and Hearts LOL).
Are there any downsides to Puget Systems? I don’t think so….but a few of you may have some concerns... You will pay a little more than some of the boutiques out there but to me it’s like comparing a Chevy Sonic to a Corvette you get what you pay for.

"Incredible. Very professional, very wonderfully communicative. Minutes after my order, I received an email from a guy there that asked me to email him with any questions. I asked a few over the next few days, and got responses almost immediately. The computer worked perfectly right out of the box, it is *dead* silent as promised, and... well, it's more than I hoped for. Opening up the computer, I've never seen such care in putting together a custom computer. Everything is nicely tied off and carefully placed, nothing is loose or stuffed in randomly. It's clear that everything is well thought out and executed. A+!"
"I've purchased computers from many big-name computer vendors over the years. They have all been high performance, custom systems for creating 3D computer graphics. Working with Puget Systems has been, by far, the BEST experience. They get it right.
Every step of the purchase process is fast, professional and personalized. The staff is great about answering questions as you configure your system (Jeff S. was the person I worked with). I probably went through eight quotes with various configurations before landing on just the right mix of price/performance. Once ordered, Seeing your system go through the paces of the build process is fun and informative. My system was delivered with no bloatwear and all hardware completely functional (years ago, I paid a ridiculous sum of money for a high-end 3D system that had non-functional headphone/mic ports that clearly were not tested before shipping).
Since the time of purchase, I’ve contacted support to help resolve two minor issues. The Antec case used for my system had a small issue with one of the side panels and the support person I contacted (Christopher C.) shipped a new side panel, no questions asked, the day I contacted support. A short time after that I ran into an issue with Windows Backup that was caused by some corrupted files. Once again, Christopher was responsive and helped provide the fix. Top notch.
I simply could not be happier with my purchase or experience with Puget Systems thus far. I wish everyone did business this way.

"after 'shoppng' Puget CC for 5 years i finally purchased a unit. i was able to work on line with a rep who helped me design what we both felt was the best fit for my circumstances. i lke the way one can follow it's progress thru the assembly (a la Corvette/MiniCooper style. unit was finished and shipped very fast! i am a computer-tinkerer from the 80's and set about to modify the unit and got into trouble right away! i called Puget for tech support (comp would not shut down) tech spent a couple of hours on the phone working thru the issue, he was VERY pleasant and patient and in the end i now have a fantastic system that i am VERY pleased with. i will definitely work with Puget in the future and recommend them to friends. additionally they send ALL the left over parts- wiring/screws, etc along with a 3 ring notebook with contact numbers, warranty info, build info, essential CD/DVD's. all very professionall done."
"Brief Review: Puget is an outstanding company that goes out of its way to help its customers make informed buying decisions. If quality and service are important to you, then do not hesitate to buy your next computer from this company. You will not be disappointed!
Full Review: I have very basic computing needs, nothing more demanding than surfing the web and word processing. So I had some reluctance about ordering a custom built computer. My Dell Dimension 8300 had served me well for nearly 8 years. Now that the time had come to replace it, it was natural to consider buying another Dell. When I checked Dell's website, however, I was discouraged by the bloatware on their current systems. This is an important issue for me, and I was not willing to compromise on it.
So I began looking at boutiques that assure that their computers are bloatware free. After some searching, I had all but settled on buying from Maingear. I do not recall now exactly how I came across Puget, although I do recall that they were one of the companies that I looked at 8 years ago when I bought my Dell. I read the fantastic reviews of Puget on ResellerRatings, but what convinced me to take a serious look at the company was a highly laudatory review of their Obsidian computer on AnandTech. The Obsidian seemed like the perfect computer for me: A rock solid, fast, and quiet machine.
I checked Puget's website, and was immediately impressed by its simplicity and high information content. This website was obviously designed to help a potential customer make a reasoned buying decision. I set up an account at Puget and started experimenting with various configurations.
After a couple of days, I received a friendly e-mail from William George in which he kindly offered to review my configurations for suitability if I would let him know what my needs were. I took William up on his offer. William's response was prompt. I had obviously configured a system that was far in excess of my needs, and William explained in very simple language how I could meet my needs with much less than what I had intended to spend. That made a very favorable impression, and sold me on Puget.
I placed my order on Thursday, 12/8/2011. My computer arrived on Tuesday, 12/13/2011, via UPS overnight air shipment. The computer was shipped in a box that was custom designed by Puget to minimize the risk of damage while in transit. I was kept informed during the entire time that my computer was being assembled and tested by frequent updates posted to my account at Puget. At any given instant, I could find out the exact status of my computer by just logging into my account.
I am typing this review on my new Obsidian, and I could not be happier. It is beautiful, fast, quiet (so quiet that there is no audible sound, even if I place my ear on the computer), and, best of all, completely free of bloatware. Any reluctance that I had about buying a custom built computer has completely evaporated. Puget is a gem. I highly recommend this company."
"They know what they're doing, answered all my questions, volunteered useful information, and helped me every step of the way in configuring a machine that was right for me: both powerful and quiet. I was very impressed when the person I was working with indicated certain items were *not* needed, and suggested alternatives that cost less but would work better in my system. The high quality result was everything I hoped for. They got my address wrong on the shipping label, but their packing materials survived the extra week of punishing land transportation that resulted."
"This is my second system with Puget. I reordered because the first system was turn-key, had zero problems, and was very quiet. This second system was turn-key and silent but had bad drivers for the video card, causing 5 black screens daily and 1 blue screen of death. I replaced the drivers with older drivers and now everything is working perfectly. The second issue I had was with the ordering process. I specified that I was going to put in 2 additional internal hard drives myself and to please pre-wire that for me. These instructions were left off the build notes until I contacted Wilson and he put them in. He did this on Thanksgiving Day, that's dedication! Thank you, Wilson! The third "issue" is that Puget's competition has caught up regarding quiet computers. My friend ordered just a week after me with CyberPower, his system is configured similarly to mine but he has a faster CPU, more current mobo, less expensive SSD, a no-name power supply, and he paid $600 less. For superb customer support and selection of reliable parts, I'm paying a premium of about $500 or $600. If I was on a budget, I'd go with CyberPower, but since I'm too lazy to stay current on what parts to choose for reliability, I'm willing to pay the premium with a bit of wincing."
