"Great, Great, great - Computer they helped customize is great. Total time from order to delivery was great. Visit with their personnel when I picked up the computer was a real help and I left there very confident about the computer and my ability to work it. I am 73 years old and they have been very polite and completely helpful on all my phone calls. I love the computer and recommend this company whole-heartedly."
"Wanted to give it a month. Haven't yet explored all its nooks & crannies but so far am very satisfied w/the Spirit's build. Performance-wise, let's say its predecessor ran WinME & my Web style lately evolved to more Easy On Easy Off, so everything's an improvement. Jeff @ Puget Systems patiently configured the purchase to conform w/my style. That was appreciated."
"Puget Custom Computers is by far the best computer I have ever owned and I have owned 5 other systems from Compaq and Gateway. I have the name of every person involved in the assembly of my system, what they did, how it was benchmark tested and the specs, and the final testing of the CPU before it was shipped. The packaging materials used to ship the unit were specifically designed by Puget Systems to insure that my CPU arrived undamaged. Assembled in the USA played a role in purchasing a Puget Systems unit. Puget Systems provides an outstanding value for the computer you buy. I strongly recommend Puget Systems products over any big box system. "
"Excellent customer service. Jeff was great, system was built and shipped within a week or so. The quality is amazing! They sent pics of the server when it was done. They sent a binder with every single detail of what we put in it, with customer service numbers for each spec'd part. And the best part is we saved a bunch of money from buying this server here instead of our other alternative. I plan to buy my own personal pc from here! "
"I order a cooling system from Puget back in Feb which wad one of the only places I could find it. I didn't have any problem putting my order in and receiving it. Delivery was quick and I got an nice email thanking me for my business. I will definitely keep them on mind for future purchases "
"Excellent service and had the items I needed in stock when no one else did. Quick Service and would reccomend to anyone for their PC needs."
"I am a retired university professor, a serious photographer for 64 years, in my eighth decade of life, and, in spite of having purchased computers for personal, laboratory, and departmental use since 1985 I remain, sadly, an archetypal cybercretin, totally dependent "...upon the kindness of geeks". I finally realized that the superannuated laptop computer I had been using for image file post-processing simply wasn't up to adequately delivering the potential visual fruit of the trees of CS5 and Lightroom 3.
Having anticipated the moment for several years, I had been, for some time, saving money and looking into what I would really need if I were to move up to a computer system that was designed to meet the needs of critical image file post-processing. That need had recently become more acutely apparent when I received some of the larger prints for an up-coming show from my printing lab. I've always been well pleased with their work, but some of the larger (3' x 4' and 4' x 5') prints revealed some local areas of color shift and a few artifacts of sharpening and of not-quite perfect selection and masking that I'd never noticed in 11x14 or 16x20 prints, much less on my laptop's 17" display of the same images. I don't think that most people who saw them in the show noticed the flaws, but as the photographer, they were glaring to my eye!
So...I started searching for a computer system and a larger, more chromatically competent monitor better suited to a photographer's purposes than is the average laptop. I quickly discovered that in both the Apple and PC arenas the upper-level photo image processing system configurations were well out of my financial range.
I looked at the features of the computers these big, pricy outfits were really offering and which would be most most important to fill my needs, and then began a search of the custom computer system fabricators to see how they might meet my needs, how they operated, and how they priced their wares. Got a real education! I suppose all of them put out an an excellent end product, but I was put off by the high pressure tactics to include components with capabilities and speeds of function processing that would really be necessary if I were working in a high-end slick- paper publishing house, but were far beyond the needs of a serous photographer who needs to work on a variety of sorts of image files with low-volume, high-qualty print requirements.
Then I hit on a company called "Puget Systems" in Washington State. It was kind of a time-trip back to the late 40s and early 50s when you could have a custom-configured TV set or a really good hi-fi system for those new-fangled 33 1/3 vinyl records put together by knowledgable erstwhile video or hi-fi cognoscenti.
Jeff Stebbins was Puget's customer contact/"computer configuration consultant" (my terminology) who took all my calls and answered all my emails.
At the outset of about 10 days of innumerable questions and incredibly patient responses to my questions...it was confirmed that I am technologically unsophisticated and of previously unplumbed deaths of ignorance of things cyberish. It was also obvious from the start that financial concerns were important to me. Jeff's patient council, though at times resulting in choice of a more rather than less expensive component and at others of a less pricy component, ultimately conspired to allow my order of a configuration within my budget and actually exceeding my original specs and expectations. And during the whole process I never felt pressured to include any component the function of which exceeded my actual desire and needs. I never heard from Jeff comments and urgings like "...yeah, it's pricy, but it's what they use at Pixar..." and. " ..Joe ......, he's a National Geographic photographer, relies on it..."
Once my order was placed the Puget team provided, on line, an amazingly detailed and frequently up-dated report on the building and testing of my system, even providing occasional photos of it's progress. About a week ago FedEx delivered -a day early, I might add - the final product which cost me far less than any of the high-end one-size-fits-all systems that I had earlier considered.
Although it is basically a "desk-top" system with separate CPU, 24" monitor, and external 2 terabyte secondary hard drive, I've built a wheeled cart that brings it to my easy chair where I can use the wireless keyboard, mouse, and Wacom tablet on a lapboard. Indeed, the lap of luxury!
The experience has been a richly educational, pleasant, and productive process. I've spent much the time since delivery and set-up reprocessing many of my old favorite RAW files, older JPEG files, and even older digitized B&W negatives! I've long had confidence in my photographic skills and abilities, and have presented workshops and taught photography for university credit, but that self-assessment has received a significant boost as a result of image processing on the sort of computer I never really thought I'd ever work on, much less be able to afford.
Being retired and on "fixed" (read "steadily decreasing") income has made this decision one that I've approached with more than a little trepidation.
It is an investment for which I've been saving for a long time.
Thanks to the patient counsel of Jeff I came to have absolutely no apprehension that I might have failed to do all possible "due diligence" in pursuing this purchase. Jeff's obvious broad technical knowledge base and his ability to comprehend my concerns and the realms and depths of my many points of ignorance made him just the right person to guide my path. He, and Puget Systems are good!
I am always leery of testimonials for products and services that are totally positive .... and so I am in the uncomfortable position of having unsuccessfully cast about for some point of criticism or suggestion for improvement of the process and product of my experience with Puget Systems. When I come up with one I'll amend this testimonial.
And so, have I any trepidation in urging patronage of Puget Systems? Not a scintilla! I am, daily, delighted to have found them.

"The Process.
First, you expect a lot of attention when you spend this kind of money. You get it. Puget has never been more than a couple of hours to respond to an e-mail. Second, they will not run the bill up on you. They actually changed things in my build during the process that allowed me to get more RAM for less money. They will also give you real, sound advice based on what your desired system will be versus what you can spend, and do so in the context of the "Best Possible Option". Third, you do not find out about customer service when everything works, you find out when it doesn't. My DVD drive had issues, and they sent a replacement out no questions asked. William George was my contact, and I've been dealing with Scott with my technical questions. They both do an admirable job, and again, have never been more than a couple of hours away when I needed something. A couple of smaller points; when you get your system Puget sends all the materials that come with the components, whatever they may be. All the parts, hardware, disks, screws, all of it ends up with you. This is great but more importantly you could actually need that stuff at some point. It's also worth noting that everything was shipped properly. No skimping on the packaging. This thing looked like it could take a shot from a howitzer. Getting this gaming system was one of the easiest high-end purchases I have ever made. This beast landed on my desk in perfect working order and it was effortless.
The System.
What can I say really? I have been a fan of PC games and the technology associated with them since 1988. During that time - as anyone into PC Gaming can tell you - I went through a lot of computers and hardware upgrades. Now I can honestly say that I simply don't have anywhere to go. I've thrown everything I can think of at this thing and it hasn't had so much as a hiccup. Crysis 2 with DirectX11 Hi-Res? Yes. No problem. Would you like a cookie with that? It's odd, the most modern games run so... smoothly. You sort of stop playing sometimes and just marvel at the experience. Saying it's "fast" is just comical. With this you don't think about speed. There just isn't anything it can't run with everything maxed out. I even go into the nVidia Control Panel and ADD MORE QUALITY. It’s unbridled gaming joy. Regarding more practical matters, it's attractive, understated in appearance, nice. I was also surprised by how quiet it was.
Conclusion.
I have owned three other game systems built by other people. A Falcon System Mach 5, and HP Firebird, and an Alienware pile of crap. I've built several myself, and I never really felt that there was much point to paying the extra money to a company, especially when I was getting good results. I have none of those feelings regarding my Puget system. I know for a fact there is no way in hell I could have put this thing together, and certainly not as well. I would put it this way - since I got this box setup I haven't really been doing anything but playing games. Some of these games I've played before, and they are new to me because I see what they look like with all the bells and whistles. Others there was simply no reason to buy because my old system would choke to death on them. It's great to just not think about specs, or in-game settings, or any of that. Just the games and playing them. Which is the absolute highest praise I can offer for a Gaming rig. I love this thing.
In closing I would offer this; you could get a PC Gaming system from some other company. You could. But you'd be making a mistake. And if you don't at least call and talk to Puget you'd be making another one.

"Ordered and received a "Spirit" computer last month. Experience from ordering to delivery was flawless and competent! Communication was exemplary. The inside of the computer was beautifully done, all wiring neatly tied up out of the way to maximize air flow. I had read reviews of many companies before deciding to go with Puget, and they have have more than lived up to their reputation. "
"Awesome customer service! Jeff is fantanstic and very helpful. I was going to go with another vendor, but they couldn't build the system I needed in time. Puget Systems not only got me the system I needed, they went above and beyond quotes that I received from other vendors beating them on price, ship date, and built a system that far exceeded what others had quoted me on based upon my spec. I was so impressed when I received the e-mail with 7 photos of my new computer and even more impressed after using it for the past couple or weeks. I'm looking forward to my next purchase from Puget Systems!"
"I received my new computer about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So far really nice system, Quiet, can not even hear it running. I also can run my Chief Architect program with out causing screen freeze ups.....
I had some problems with internet exployer but I am running Safari now and problem is resolved.
Thanks Again

"Awesome computer! Tech/sales support top notch. Look nowhere else for your next PC. Highly recommended."
"When looking to buy a new computer recently, a friend of mine recommended Puget Systems, but I ignored him and went with one of the bigger companies. About a week later I had a computer that was dead on arrival. Long story short, several weeks later I returned it after trying to deal with their customer service and ultimately attempting to fix it myself.
After that, I decided to investigate other companies, and found the customer service and sales people at Puget were extremely accessible. They helped me decide on a configuration, and taught me a lesson or two about some of the components I was less knowledgeable about. So far each time I've contacted their customer service after my purchase, they've been very helpful and quite quick to respond, as well.
Their prices are higher than you can find elsewhere, but in my case, I would have saved a significant amount of time and money had I simply gone with them in the first place. As far as I'm concerned, if I don't intend on assembling a computer myself, I'll definitely return to this company."
"Puget computers are the best computer deal on the market once you include (1) the reliability, (2) the technical support, and (3) the clean install.
I am a lawyer with important client data on my hard drive. Due to client confidentiality, I simply cannot allow my computer to ever get serviced outside of my eyesight, so a great warranty isn't that helpful. I NEED A COMPUTER THAT IS BUILT TO NOT BREAK, EVER. After researching reliability exhaustively (having had three of my last four store-bought brand name computers need extensive fixing), Puget's name came up so many times that it was the obvious choice for reliability.
If something actually does go wrong with the computer, I needed a system that allowed for user-fixing. Again, Puget is the obvious choice. They are a bunch of guys in Seattle who know each of their computer systems perfectly and can login to your computer remotely (on a one time basis after you click some authorization buttons on your computer). I did that yesterday when they walked me through adding a SATA card to fix the early Sandy Bridge chipset flaw. Everything went perfectly, whereas standard vendor tech support would have been a nightmare.
So, while I agree with the glowing reviews of other purchasers, I want to reiterate that you are getting a great financial deal with Puget. It is NOT more expensive! You are buying a different and better (1) product and (2) support team. I find it crazy that professionals buy cheap computers to run their entire businesses. Spend a few bucks more for better quality. But, if you are a student on a shoestring budget, have no sensitive data on your hard drive, and can part with your computer for a couple of weeks for warranty service, then maybe store bought brand name computer will work for you.

"Ordered aquarium parts that ironically I found available from PCC. They were at my door in two days! Great prices, and all brand new components for very reasonable prices. Thanks much for the great service! I was impressed and appreciate the level of importance placed on hearing back from your customers so that you can assure satisfaction. "
