"I needed to replace my 4-year-old Dell computer but I didn't want to go back to Dell or to HP because I think their telephone service departments have declined and because they always ship their computers with a bunch of trashware installed. I was considering building my own but I was intimidated by the number of processor/motherboard combinations. So I decided to look for someone to build the computer for me. Happily, I found Puget Custom Computers.
The buying process was very satisfying. I specified what I wanted and my contact suggested some lower price alternatives and prompted me to make a decision (i.e., I don't really need a massive hard drive) that saved even more. When Intel had a problem with the chip set for my selected system, PCC offered reasonable workarounds.
The computer itself is very nice. I love the case. And the fan is very quiet. I had a visitor the other day and he commented about how quiet it was.
The computer came with no trashware as promised!
Since I purchased the computer, I've had a couple of problems (self inflicted) and PCC has been right there to help me get things resolved.
I strongly recommend PCC to computer buyers. "
"I began my search for a new computer several months ago. Since I was looking for a quiet system the name Puget kept coming up in my research. I did a quick online custom configuration and that began a very pleasant detailed email correspondence in which my needs and options were discussed and recommendations were made. I quickly decided these were people who cared about their product and their service so with a final phone call I ordered my new beast.
I needed the system to be built and sent to arrive at a specific time due to my schedule and it was. Four days ago I eagerly unpacked my new computer and it has been a delight. Packing was excellent, everything worked perfectly immediately. Everything integrated with all my peripherals since I was carefully interviewed about exactly what I would be connecting to this system.
And with 3 hard drives all working away it is absolutely quiet. After the post beep it simply makes no hum, no buzz. To know it is on I must check the lights. After sitting next to seeming jet engines for years this is a true delight.
I love the accompanying booklet personalized for this system which shows who installed and tested what and when, has photos, bench test results, neat diagrams and each installed program disc neatly stored. I love the exceedingly neat interior, the tidy box of parts. I will be adding my own notes as I go. I know that if I have any questions or problems the people at Puget really will be glad to help me out and support their product.
This has been the most positive computer purchase I have ever made and that is saying a lot. I've been abusing computers since 1985. My current home systems include a Dell, Lenovo, Polywell, IBM, Toshiba, flashy custombuild and that is just the current crop. I think over the past 30 years I have had at least one of everything. I am looking forward to several good years with this lovely new system and will report back after it has had six months of hard use.
I heartily recommend the people at Puget if you want to "build" a custom rig. "
"This is my 2nd purchase from Puget, both have been great experiences. The first system is still going strong after 4 years!
Puget builds systems with no crapware, no compatibility issues, and only the best parts -- all of it put together beautifully. There's no spaghetti wiring in their systems. And if you want a silent, high performing computer the Serenity models are the best on the market."
"My first custom pc build. Researched custom pc makers for about two months prior. No regrets about going with Puget. 100% satisfied with product. Amazing customer service and responsiveness to questions even about products outside their lists! Helpful in determining the right product for my needs. Product arrived right on time and in pristine condition. Will definitely be a return customer if I can manage to dig deeper into my pockets."
"I make films (for 20 years) but don't know much about the hardware of edit suites. A friend offered to help me out and he researched numerous options for my long overdue upgrade. Puget came out ahead hands down on paper. They then followed up with great service (made some great suggestions based on my use and original design specs I submitted that sped my computer up and saved me a few dollars). The computer is fast, quiet, and great to use. When it arrived I had a minor glitch that only emphasized how good their service is. They talked me through a diagnostic over email and phone (again, I'm not very hardware savvy) and solved the problem very quickly. I can't be happier with the machine, the service, and the type of attention they bring to their business. I bought it in Canada and the biggest concern was the border issues, Puget was upfront about how little experience they had with that, but again, their level of follow through proved wonderful and to be honest, with service and performance like this, any concern about cross border issues is out of mind! This is the best tech purchase experience I've ever had"
"Great, easy to follow web sight. Exactly as I planned. True professionals. Highly recommend for your customer computer needs."
"Best PC and best customer service ever!
The PC is super fast and absolutely quiet. As a university faculty, I've been using PCs for my office, home, lab, and students' offices for many years. Prior to our purchase from Puget, we've been ordering built-to-ship models from other companies like Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, IBM, ... Nothing like the Puget Serenity PC. It is simply the best I've ever had. It has superior performance, lightening speed, yet is absolutely quiet. No more annoying fan noise and heat like others. I'm now working longer hours yet more focused and efficient. This PC is beyond my expectation. We've ordered a second one to handle intensive computing and it's been just great.
The level of custom support is also beyond my expectation. From when I found their website and tried to configure a machine to the shipping and receiving of the product, I've received many emails with very detailed and specific information (for example on each component) to guide me in every step in configuring the PC depending on our needs. The sales technician (Jeff) is very knowledgeable and he always take the initiative to follow up with prompt emails and phone calls. I have to say that their level of customer service is really rare in any company today.
Overall, I'm a very satisfied customer and will order from Puget from now on. A company like Puget will really grow and prosper in the PC market in no time."
"I ordered a water-cooled I7-970 Deluge A2 tower system on February 24 after several months of research. My research led me to a company just 3 hours away from where I live and, based on high ratings and review scores, I ordered a relatively robust system to replace an aging Dell XPS Gen 2 gaming tower.
It was very easy to configure a machine and select components. Of special interest were some very honest reviews of the components by staff members (whose Bio's are posted on their site) and the way the company only recommends components with a stellar track record in the systems they build.
My initial queries were answered quickly and completely. Once I initiated the order process, it was possible to track progress, identify who was doing what and when, and even review benchmark results and see pictures of the system before it was shipped. Even more impressive was when the requested CPU, an Intel I7-970, was unavailable they supplied a higher-power Intel I7-980X at no additional charge. The custom touches like a specially-cut window, adjustable blue fans, and easy-open case make upgrades and cleaning a joy instead of a drudge. The new system is also very quiet and makes the old DELL sound like an aging jet engine.
The system was built on-time and the only "issue" was that it arrived in my home city 4 days earlier than FedEx initially said it would. This resulted in me rushing home to get there before the delivery truck did. So far, all surprises have been of the positive variety.
The tower was double-boxed and padded well enough to have been air-dropped into my back yard without being damaged. The out-of-box experience was stellar and the machine is performing flawlessly and crazy fast. Build quality is the best I've ever seen in 29 years of looking inside of newly built systems. The price was below what an Alienware machine would have cost and I had a chance to talk to the builders. The follow-up support has been dependable & fast and I've ordered more RAM which should be delivered tomorrow. Guess what company will be building all of my future systems!"
"I've never posted a review before, but I used this website as a factor in trying to chose a company to custom build my pc. So it's only fair I that I can do the same for others.
Without a doubt the best remote buying experience I've ever had. From designing the PC to the over the phone review I received, the whole process exceeded expectations. I was saved some money on a few component choices and used it for some "quiet" upgrades and the result was amazing!
I was also pleasantly surprised with their pricing. I priced out similar pcs from Dell, HP CyberPower, Alienware, Falcon etc, and Pugot was surprisingly less expensive than most (way less in some cases) and close enough to others that the difference was negligible.
If you have any doubts, erase them. Pugot is a class company from start to finish."
"Over the years I've had a lot of computer's from my first custom build in 1986 to off the shelf Dell and HP systems. I am more than impressed with Puget. They were up front about the Sandy Bridge problems and advised me when the new MB's were expected. Their response time to questions was within hours not days. The web site offered detailed updates as the computer was built. The new MB arrived Mar 4 and 6 days later I have it up and running. The packing box was received undamaged. The contents were well packed and neat. The first box opened contained spare hardware and a binder. The binder contained the invoice, the build record, and benchmark printouts, as well as the OS and other CDs, a nice surprise. Puget created a recovery disc also a plus. I opened and examined the case inside and out and found it extraordinarily neat and in excellent condition, nothing loose or out of place. After a speedy start up, I opened the start menu to find it contained not one bit of unwanted trial software - just a lean and mean menu! The people at Puget Systems excel at production and design and build a superior system. I found the price to be competitive and the system was worth every penny. I could not be more pleased. "
"Have had my system for close to 3 months now. The order process went great. Was able to easily get expert advice on how to configure system for my special needs. The build process took a little longer than expected due to a bad component that had to be replaced which I was not unhappy about since getting a clean build was one of my reasons for choosing Puget. The only minor fault I have with Puget during this process is that I had to keep checking in on their web site to see what the status of the build was. If Puget could just send out an automated email when a new entry is made into their build log this would be a big imporvement. From my experiebce with this company expect to see that change some time.
The system has performed extremely well and definitely at the level of performance I expected. I am not a gamer but do perform lots of video editing and a number of demanding scientific database crunching routines. There have been a few minor glitches, the most significant being a hard disk that developed bad sectors and started throwing out cryptic error messages. To resolve this I worked with Puget tech support which I can only describe as a journey back in time - tech support and customer service the way I remember it was 20 years ago - fast, easy to contact, knowledgeable, and willing to stay with me while a battery of tests were performed step by step. In this process, I also found that one of the best features of Pugets systems might well be the diagnostic disk, system settings reset files, and images of the bios setup pages that Puget provides with each system.
Bottom line. There will be a new Puget system computer at my desk each time I make a major upgrade for as long as the company continues to be the best in the business as they clearly are at present. "
"I am blown away by these guys. I ordered a custom computer from them, and they exceeded by expectations at every step of the way—sometimes doing better than I even realized the job could be done.
The process of customizing a system was painless. I'm fairly hardware-savvy, although it's been several years since I did any serious research on the state of the art. They did all the research for me, making it easy for me to select a set of compatible components. They also recommended an additional component to me (a battery for the RAID controller). When I asked why, they justified the component to a level that not only satisfied me, but convinced me that it was worth it, and I was happy that they recommended it because the overall performance was increased.
Their communications were excellent: prompt, courteous, and thorough.
They really impressed me with their detailed checklist of the system assembly and testing. I could follow their progress at every step of the way. Not only that, but they took pictures of the inside and outside of the assembled computer. Then they ran the system through a comprehensive set of tests and benchmarks, to be certain that it was not only assembled correctly, but also operating well. They even took screenshots of the BIOS settings! They went far above and beyond the call of duty.
In short, I enthusiastically recommend Puget. They thoroughly impressed me at every step of the way, and I will definitely be using them for my next custom computer."
"I have "goods" and "others" for this review, so the "others" first to get them out of the way...
First, please ask me what I want as a user name: although I am the purchaser this was a family computer and having to store files under "Jeffrey" is not what we wanted. After some attempts to change it, I gave up. Second, with all of the extensive labeling and instruction, Puget could have left instructions on how to open the computer case to remove the internal packing material: I almost broke it off trying to get it open!
Now with that out of the way, the "goods": this has been the best experience computer shopping I have ever had. It started with Jeff Stubbers review of my build request, and after discussion of what I wanted (good performance/future proofed) he talked me out of some options that eventually saved me about $400. He also was very informative about other things from hardware and software questions that I had, even answering an email when they were closed for the 4th of July holiday. From start to finish, I was kept in the loop on the build (the updates and pictures were great), and the packing exhibited great care and pride in their work (a double benefit as I am active duty and move frequently: the computer will be well protected from the movers!)
The computer itself has been fantastic, and exactly what I needed since I received it 7 months ago. It is SILENT: I thought my old MPC was quiet but it sounded like a chainsaw compared to my Puget Systems computer. The interior wiring was clean and efficient, and the computer itself has performed superbly. I was impressed by Puget's offer of assistance when I eventually upgrade this computer's memory/graphics card.
I would absolutely recommend Puget Systems to anyone (in fact I already have). This company is a throw-back to a better era of shopping: top-notch manufacture and second-to-none customer service. Although more expensive than other manufacturers (I have purchased previous computers from both brand name [Dell, MPC, Gateway] and no-name [CyberPower]), I am absolutely willing to pay a little more to get an experience like this.
Regrets? I have one: that I didn’t know about Puget Systems prior to the purchase of my laptop. Rest assured, this company has just made a life-long customer out of me.
"
" Received my Puget PC about 2 weeks ago. This is my first computer from them. I'm the type of of person who usually doesn't buy sight unseen, let alone having a have a piece of electronic equipment shipped 3000 miles and not being able to talk to a salesperson face to face. I had known about Puget for a few years but was always reluctant for reasons stated above. I finally gave them a call and after communicating with Wilson, Will, and Richard my fears were put to rest. After telling them what PC was intended for (web, email, finances, photo and video editing) they gave me a few recommendations and I placed my order. While waiting for my new PC it was "cool" to watch the process on their website - I even learned a few things during the Build/Checkoff process - try doing that with any other name brand out of the box computer. Puget puts the meaning PERSONAL in your PC. When my PC arrived I was amazed-looked like it traveled 30miles not 3000 (kudos to FEDEX also)! Puget delivered as promised. All disks and spare part for future upgrades were sent. All documentations and disks were put in a binder with benchmarks and test results. They even included a sheet with a picture and support info for every component that was used in PC-which I considered a nice touch and very helpful. When I fired it up for the first time I was amazed-no bloatware-just a clean computer-didn't need updates Puget took care of everything. The assembly was clean and neat-this PC is amazing. If you're in the market for a PC go the extra mile and get one built by Puget. My only regret is that I didn't go to them sooner. "
"I have had my Puget Computer for a little over a year now, and I am very happy with it. I had some problems with the computer randomly crashing when I first started using it. The service staff was very helpful and quick to respond to e-mails. After running through some tests, it was determined that I had a bad video card. They helped me to RMA the bad card, and after installing the new one the computer has run flawlessly. Everything was well packed with excellent documentation when I received it. I would definetly recommend Puget COmputers to anyone looking for a new custum-built home computer."
