"Best thing about Puget is their customer support. I'm a music producer and electronic musician who needed serious CPU and space for a bunch of hard drives, so my computing needs are kinda specific. I was close to ordering a system from Maingear, but after spending an hour on hold to get a rep who had no idea what I was talking about I realized I had overlooked Puget due to their outdated looking website and rather bland cases and presentation.

So I called them and immediately was on the phone with Jeff who knew details of computing from RAM speed stability to RAID arrays with a depth that I didn't have. I decided to overlook the Win 95 vintage website aesthetic and go with Puget and I'm SO GLAD I DID!!

And the system is freaking crazy fast, each component the highest quality. You can see quality from top to bottom, they take individual thermal images, screenshot EVERY BIOS setting, send extra parts and cables, build and install custom supports for each graphics card, all of this is just part of it. They test everything rigorously.

The only downside? Kinda lame cases. Yeah the case is kinda lame. Does the job great and it's built like a tank but...No cool LEDs or easy to take apart cases (this would be great - those little thumbscrews are annoying!). Would love to see them up their graphics and imagery as I nearly didn't get this computer due to those details, which are important to people in creative fields like me.

So if you are on the fence, just do it already. Get this computer. These people at Puget are passionate about custom machines, you won't regret it.

They are the most amazing computer company - they want to know what you want from your computer BEFORE they try to sell you something off the shelf! What software do you use, how do you use it (or them), THEN they make recommendations based on their in-house testing. "I finally decided to replace my aging (4 years old) Dell T3600. The Dell is ok, but it doesn't accommodate the latest generation of GPUs (because it only has 6-pin power internally, and the newer GPUs need 8-pin or 12-pin power), and its disk performance is really bad because of the cheap RAID controller I let them talk me into buying. I could upgrade (or remove) the RAID controller, but there is no easy path to a higher performance GPU, so I decided to buy a computer purpose-built for video editing. I figure, if it can handle that task, anything else I want to do on this computer will be overkill.

I was referred to Puget Systems by a couple of folks on an the Adobe Community Forum who I recognize as working professionals in the video editing field. I had asked a question about compatibility with older GPUs, and the conversation led to both of them saying nice things about Puget Systems, both as a resource for learning (call 'em and just talk to them) and for building new computers.

The purchase experience thus far has been amazing. I had a long phone conversation with DJ, and he answered all of my questions about configuring a computer for video editing. They excel at keeping the customer informed through the entire building and testing process. I've gotten benchmark results, pictures of thermal imaging (these things run HOT - high-quality cooling components are part of the package), and pictures of the finished computer from various angles. And they've put up with my barrage of updates about when we will be on vacation (I didn't want it to arrive while we are gone.)

As I'm writing this, it's on a FedEx truck heading my way, scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Can't wait!

Got my new computer. This thing is a pleasure to use. So far (I've had it for several weeks) it just works. Video editing using the Adobe tools is fast and smooth. Videos render at least 5 times faster than my old Dell. I had several occasions to call their tech support folks. It's great to know that they are just a phone call away.
