They offered the PC-DL deluxe (a dual Xeon board on the 875P chipset) as a motherboard option, no other OEM we contacted was willing to build a system based on this board. I work at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and we needed to order a customized computer on a deadline due to the fact that a grant was expiring. "Last summer, I purchased a top-of-the-line, completely loaded dual processor server ($5500+) from Puget Custom Computers for data acquisition and analysis in nuclear physics. The owner, Jon Bach, was initially very helpful and gave good recommendations. The computer arrived quickly and worked well for a few weeks. Then I encountered a problem with the PS/2 keyboard port not working. I emailed support and after a few suggestions, it was decided to return the computer for a replacement motherboard. Soon after I got the computer back, the keyboard again stopped working. After using the old motherboard himself, Jon realized the problem was a grounding issue with the case and offered to replace it. That was over a year ago and ever since then, Jon has not responded to any of my numerous emails. I find this behavior extremely unprofessional, especially considering the fact that he admitted there was a hardware fault. As of now, I get by using a USB keyboard, although it is not usable until Windows is loaded, which prevents selecting Linux from the dual boot menu. This is obviously unacceptable, and someday I will buy a new case on my own, after already spending over $5500. I am sure many people have an excellent experience with Puget Custom Computers, but at least in my case, it seems that they are not willing to offer the comprehensive support they claim.

The matter has finally been resolved. It seems the misunderstanding was being amplified by some technical problems with email. From what I gather, last year Jon Bach was willing to send a new case. Because of a problem with their servers, he never got my email last summer stating which replacement case I wanted, or an email earlier this summer inquiring on the status of the new case. During the school year, I didn't work with the research group and never got a chance to resolve the issue, and understandably Jon assumed I had fixed the problem without a new case. After he saw my feedback, he quickly contacted me, and we recently received the new case."

"I purchased two computers from pugetsystems.com. One was a laptop that ended up burning itself out in less than 24h (my fault, configured it too hot). They helped me with details to return it to them, and not only provided a full refund but made the funds immediately available for use on the desktop system I configured shortly after returning the laptop.

Now, I ordered the desktop system on August 3rd. It hasn't gotten here yet, but that again is not their fault. They've kept me up to date every step of the way, and I greatly appreciate that. The case model I ordered was discontinued, so they had to track one down for me, which they've done. The shipping is taking a little longer than expected, but they haven't left me in the dark about anything, and that is very important to me.

Overall, I am 100% satisfied with PCC. Customer service has been excellent. The degree of customization is beyond that of anything else I've seen out there. I highly recommend this company."

After having a terrible experience with another company I decided to go with Puget Custom Computers for my latest upgrade. The company was extremely professional and responsive through every step of the process, and the representatives I worked with went to great lengths to work around some rather tricky logistical issues that arose along the way.

"This was my first purchase from PSS and I was impressed! Jon was very knowledgeable and helped me figure out which video option would best fit my needs. His suggestion was spot on and less costly than the one I had selected on their online order entry form.

PSS was very accomodating and responsive, both by email and phone. My order was squeezed in to get shipped out to me earlier than usual, and then when an unscheduled trip came up that took me ouot of town for a week, PSS changed their order scheduling in midstream at my request, so that my system arrived a week later exactly on the day I had asked PSS to aim for.

I ordered a higher-end system (AMD FX-53), and it arrived as ordered, in perfect condition (it was double boxed) and it fired up without any glitches. I waited 10 days before submitting a review to make sure the system was still working satifactorily, which it is.

If you don't need that "Quick Install" poster that you usually get with a Dell or Gateway system to figure out where all the cables go, PSS is the way to go. PSS's customer service has so far been on par, actually better than, Dell and Gateway, both of which I've purchased from in the past.

Pricing was very competitive to what I could find locally and on-line for similar configurations, and that includes pricing out a system that I was thinking of building myself at the time.
