"We own a small graphic design firm and have now purchased four systems from PS and they are amazing. The first two we bought in 2012 and they went 7 years without a problem - NOT ONE! And in 2019 they we're still fast enough for our work, too. (They we're a bit slow, of course, it's just that they were still capable of running InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator just fine.) Recently, we replaced those PCs with two new ones and they are incredibly quiet and fast and solid. Wilson helped with choosing some parts and was always responsive and never pushy. (He helped us 7 years ago, too). I had two issues during set-up and their phone techs were excellent - shout out to Michael and Shawn!!! Nice job! One was my doing - oops, my bad. I converted the only Windows 10 user to a standard user and not an administrator (as Admiral Ackbar says, "It's a trap!"). The other was a driver reinstall. All I can say is, if you truly want a PC that is as reliable as possible with smart folks to support you through the years, call Puget Systems. "

After reviewing the detailed information and recommendations on their website, I had a few questions so reached out to them by phone and promptly had all my questions answered in a knowledgeable way. "Puget has a lot of good things going for them. I think and believe they have as much experience building custom PCs as other builders, if not more. The sales person I dealt with answered questions but did leave it up to me to choose my own configuration --- so I can't say with certainty that my specific needs were understood and that a recommendation was made to me based on that. But I knew in general what I wanted.
The build process took about a month and a half as they ran into issues with the motherboard not being to spec (i.e. the graphics card PCIe slot was testing out at 8x bandwidth vs. the 16x advertised). Puget needed to send for a new motherboard from ASUS. Still they caught the problem, and fixed it before shipping. They provided a lot of benchmarks and builder comments along the way. The product was packaged very well and came with a detailed notebook. All very good and very professional.
About two months into using the computer, I started hearing pops in the audio. I have my computer connected to an Onkyo stereo amplifier. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with the audio from my other computer attached to the amplifier or any other components. The tech support person I dealt with was not willing to consider any other possibility than that my audio cables or amplifier are to blame, and that I needed to purchase and external sound card (i.e. a DAC, digital to analog converter), to convert audio information from a USB port and then send that output to my amplifier (which would introduce additional cables and equipment). He said if I want to listen to audio from my computer, this is the only "real" way to do it otherwise this is what I should expect. I call b.s. on that.
I can troubleshoot cable and amplifier problems, and that's not the issue. And that is the main problem with my tech support experience. No other issues were considered except what may be wrong with my non-Puget equipment. And in the end, after spending $4000 on a computer, I still didn't spend enough was the basic feedback I kept getting. There are a lot of technical, trouble-shooting articles on Puget's site and many of their own people say a DAC is not necessary to enjoy audio from a PC unless you want a high-level audiophile experience. I was willing to pay extra for their legendary tech support, which accounts for a bit of a mark-up, but which actually led to no serious trouble shooting options and the statement I didn't spend enough on my computer. I will not buy from them again.
I think 2.5 stars is fair. I was paying for good, thoughtful tech support in addition to their build experience. If I had anticipated the problems with the computer audio that are still unresolved I would have gone with Dell, or a less expensive dealer, or built the computer myself. The 2.5 stars is based on the high price of the system (supposedly justified by good tech support), but the tech support being that I didn't pay enough for my system and total lack of any consideration about troubleshooting with the PC itself, which based on my hands-on troubleshooting is the source of the problem."

"I searched high and low on the internet for a computer that will not only support my design needs but as well as my gaming needs and Puget systems went waaay beyond my expectations. From start to finish they were with me on every step. Their packaging is excellent as well! I watched as the FedEx driver dropped the box by mistake. My desktop is working perfectly fine. "Since buying my system from Puget Systems, I have had two occasions to call their service team. In the first case it turned out to be a Windows update problem, in the second a faulty monitor display port connector. But in both cases I was extremely impressed with everyone I spoke to. Because the service technicians were busy when I first called in, my call was handled by one of the sales people. Rather than pass me on or put me on hold; the salesperson jumped in a started the service diagnosis. Later, when I placed a return call to my service tech, he was on the phone. Again, rather than putting me on hold, another service technician simply jumped in, pulled up my case and expertly walked me through the rest of the problem diagnosis. These guys care about the products they build, everyone of them is knowledgeable, and they care about and value their customer's time. I can't think of any other vendor, in computers or otherwise, with whom I have had such a positive experience!"
