"fair service, placed order online on a Sunday, got a phone voice message and email message to call the store on Monday, was asked for "credit card" verification which actually was a "fake" only asking for the 1-800 number on the back of the card, the employee then asked if I didn't want accessories or insurance, etc. which was not too pushy, then I got an order confirmation by email the same day (Monday), credit card was charged also after that phone call, shipment arrived today (was slowest, lowest price 8-12 days NY to NJ) however, Thanksgiving was in between, merchandise arrived as ordered. Altogether good rating, fair service, shipment took about a week. "

"I ordered on line at Rainbowtronics only to receive an E mail asking that I call Zak trgarding my credit card. I called him to see what the problem was. He stated he needed the Discover phone number but all my credit card info was correct. This seemed starnge to me as all the years of purchasing on line no one ever asked for the credit card company's phone number as this is readily available to any vendor. After giving him the number he started to sell me more merchandise. I admit I could use some of the items that I ordered. When my order came I received the wrong camcorder battery charger along with a 512MB SD card. I purchased a Canon ZR500 camcorder. I trusted he knew what features the camcorder had. Turns out after calling Canon the ZR500 does not have the capabilities for this card. Now I had 2 RA numbers for sending back the wrong items within the same week. The returns were sent 1st Class USPS meaning they would be received in 2 days. After this entire weekend, Monday and Tuesday I called (on hold for 30 minutes at times with someone asking for my order number then getting cut off. Frustrating is a mild description. Promises were made with still no results. Recently I was told all that was due me will be shipped. I checked my account only to see one corrected order was sent and not both as promised. This means more phone calls holding the line hoping no one hangs up on me. In my experience I have learned to know exactly what you want that you will not have to make any returns as you will regret chasing after what is due you."

"I was very happy with my experience purchasing a DCR-SR100 video camera from Rainbowtronics. I place the order late Friday night and Monday received and email telling me there was some clarification needed on my order. I read enough reviews to know that this was just to try to sell more stuff. I can say that I was not real crazy about this approach but we do live in a capitalistic society so I understand where they are coming from. I called and verified some basic info and they did try to sell me a new battery. The information the sales guy used about the battery in the box was pretty accurate with respect to the reviews that I had read about this camera. I told him that I actually spent more on the camera (that is me choosing a better model) then I originally planned and had nothing left in the budget for additional purchases. He was ok with that and had the camera shipped out that Monday. I received it on Wednesday (paid for three day shipping). Overall this was an outstanding experience considering all the bad reviews I had read concerning this and a number of online stores. The camera arrived in perfect shape in a factory sealed box with all the right stuff included and the price was still $200 to $400 dollars less then most places.
This was actually the second camera that I ordered. The first was from another online store that I found no good reviews written for (after the purchase). This was one of those too good to be true prices because the camera would arrive with none of the factory provided items. Funny how they never tell one that on their Web page. I canceled the order. Before looking for a camera again I started to review the companies and saw that Rainbowtronics was consistently rated very well in a number of purchasing portals. I was very happy with making the second selection and would buy again from Rainbowtronics!

"Do not trust this company!!!! They are a bunch of thieves!!!!! I ordered a Nikon D200 body at a very good price. I called thier 800 phone number and ASKED THE ALL IMPORTANT QUESTION "Is this a USA Camera. The salesperson said definitely! He then proceeded to sell me an extended life battery for the camera (there is no such thing). By the time he got done the price was certainly at the current price of a USA D200. When I got the camera it was a gray market camera with an extra warranty from saul's kosha deli and camera repair. When I call the customer service line I was dsiconnected multiple times or left on hold forever. Finally after connecting friends a the NY attny Generals office. I finally found out all the sneaky details about this company ( including alias') I finally threatenined them with legal action as well as contacting American Express to stop payment and only then did they agree to take the camera back and send me a Real Nikon USA warranty camera. When the new camera came (Body only) it was in a Nikon USA 18-70mm Combo box with the lens removed. So did I really get a new camera or a returned camera. It looked new and unused but I decided to cut my losses and run. When the extra battery arrived it was the same nikon battery as the one shipped with the camera ( again it was not a better extended battery) Don't trust these people and don't trust the rating on this site it has been over inflated since the last time I checked 2 months ago."
"After having been screwed over by not 1 but 2 bait and switchers (one was not even a "too good to be true offer" unless having something in stock is too good to be true, I opted for reading reviews before buying. Rainbowtronics had the best price on what I was looking for without having a bait and switch rep. The reviews were right, so far: They confirmed in stock, sent an order number with accurate confirmation, pricing and shipping detail. So far so good. As with all discounters, be prepared for some upsell. To their credit, Rainbowtronics only tried to sell what they thought I needed (charger, warranty), the prices were not out of line, and they were absolutely not pushy or rude. I will update after order arrives, if possible."

"I was called to confirm cc. info. (???), so the item took an extra 24 hours to ship. I was pushed to get the extra warranty, which I did not want. The sales rep. was courteous, though.
They offered a shipping upgrade for filling out surveys like these. I filled them out, but no shipping upgrade or credit was given as a bonus; some other stuff was, like a lens cleaner. Not happy. Item had NOT shipped when I requested the upgrade."
