"I had a great experience with Rock Auto. I was looking for a muffler for my minivan and they had the model I was looking for at a considerable discount. Shipping can be costly, so I didn't order other pieces, because they would have been shipped from separate warehouses, which would have added extra shipping costs. That said, I will continue to go back to them for comparative pricing and probably purchase from them again. The muffler works great and it was at least 40% cheaper than autozone or advance auto."

"I have bought a few items from RockAuto over the past 3 years and have found them to be a first class operation. The last order I had a question on if the parts I wanted to buy were correct because the picture didn't show the ABS sensor on the hub and bearing assembly. I called them and all the lines were busy so I left a message. Within an hour they called me back and told me they would call the manufacturer to find out. They called me back again within 10 minutes and verified it was the correct part. I ordered the parts at around 3 pm and they were at my door the next morning delivered by FedEx at 8:35 am! "I placed three orders of part number 76884 (Heater & AC Control Knobs for my 2003 Ford Escape). After shipping and everything it came out to $21.47 (for pieces of plastic, crazy but common, but that's not the issue).
I was excited to finally have working knobs again so I hurriedly opened them up and started to install them. To my dismay they are of *extremely* poor quality. The plastic is ultra-cheap and has darker spots in some areas (poor manufacturing). They do not go on all the way and so they let light leak out which looks horrible IMO and is not what I expected. I am extremely disappointed overall with the quality and compatibility of the product.
I emailed RockAuto with my complaint and got a response from "Justin S" after about a week. They can't issue a refund for parts that have been installed. I can understand where this policy would make sense for something that is a consumable, but these knobs are in exactly the same condition as they arrived. I consider the light leaking issue a defect.
This is my first experience with Rock Auto and I have to say I am very disappointed. I'll be avoiding them in the future. Complete waste of time and money.

"Very disappointed in rockauto's customer service after years of being a faithful customer. Recently had an issue with a power steering rack purchase that wound up turning into a paypal dispute after they refused to ship a replacement or issue a refund. They gave me the option to purchase another one but refused to give me back my core return. I had paypal come in as a third party to review the case, and continued using rockauto as usual. Once paypal removed the funds from rockauto's account for the case, rockauto blacklisted me as a customer and are now refusing to ship any of my orders despite having been paid for. Now they are threatening me over email saying I need to either drop the case or pay them back the money or they will not ship any future orders. Needless to say this is a blatant act of FRAUD, and they have officially lost me as a customer."
"Prices are good, service and delivery are 3rd rate. Wrong parts sent, merchandice very poorly packed and typically received damaged. Part boxes opened and sealed packaging ripped open and contents removed. I would not deal with this outfit again since it is not worth the hassle to save a few $$. I filed a complaint against this supplier to the BBB because they were so bad..."
