"I ordered a Panasonic PT-AE800U Projector from Ryther Camera. Within 15 minutes of of having placed my on-line oreder, Steve Warren called me to verify the acuracy, and to offer me a promotional lamp replacement program and 3d glasses. He was informative, and polite. The experience was first-rate. This evening, I ordered a receiver from him and he went the extra mile to guarantee delivery in three days. This showed me that he was willing to do what was necessary to keep me as a valued customer."

"Well I just received my 5D MK-3 and can put all of fears (from reading some reviews) to rest. While it took a little longer than I had expected (2 weeks for a FEDEX shipping upgrade?) it got here via FEDEX just the same.

Shawn assisted me with the order (after I initially ordered it and a few times thereafter.....) and threw in an extra battery for the inconvenience (yes it was in the package when I got it - thanks!). I was told it wasn't in stock as was initially indicated when I ordered it, so that explains the delay I guess. A lot of people are fussing about a follow-up call up-selling from grey market unit to a Canon USA Warrantied camera and that in fact happened to me as well, however I noticed that after extensive searches on the Internet, MANY retailers/sellers of this camera do the same thing, and those that don't sell grey market cameras do in fact charge about $400 more than what I paid for mine at Ryther.

Once mine arrived I immediately registered it at Canon.com to ensure the serial number was legitimate and it was. I also purchased the 3 year MACK Warranty for 199.00 and registered that on-line as well with the warranty protection card included in the kit.

For those concerned about the light leak issue when the top mounted LED screen is lit during very dark environments, this one did not have a "1" or "2" in the sixth position of the serial number so no worries there (resale or otherwise).

In all I have to say that I am very satisfied with my experience with Ryther Camera. I'm impatient by nature and tend to worry when I read bad reviews, so that did get my anxiety up while I was waiting for my camera, and the extra week didn't help BUT in the end - I got a legitimately great camera, warranty, and extra battery.

"RytherCamera was a wonderful shopping experience. I am thrilled with the competetive prices, which are the best I've seen anywhere online. I also appreciated receiving a phone call after ordering... the gentleman who called me went through my order piece by piece to make sure that what I was ordering was going to fulfill my needs optimally, and then suggested some very smart changes that I was happy to accept. "I made an online purchase (canon 1Dx $5,749) 01/21/13 Monday, by Tuesday (01/22/13) afternoon I received an email receipt and got a call confirming my info and purchase then it went into the upsell. I cannot remember the rep's name but he informed me the camera I selected was a foreign (gray market) model and suggested I spend the extra 1k for the USA model and it comes with a 1 hour battery, a quick charger and a memory card. I pretty much expected the upsell and I knew I didn't need anything extra so I told the guy to just give me the camera I ordered. From that point the rep went on to say the foreign (gray market) camera I wanted would come in Japanese or Chinese and would have no warranty so I would want to spend the 1k If I didn't speak Japanese or Chinese and I wanted a warranty. Now, I have made multiple gray market purchases in years past, all canon products, and I have never gotten anything that didn't include English instructions and no foreign languages on the cameras or lenses but it seemed this rep was doing everything he possibly could to keep me from getting the camera (canon 1d x)I wanted until i finally just gave in and cancelled the order. I had to build up the courage and convince myself to spend the $5,749 for this camera and it seems that if they couldn't get me to buy the full price camera then they didn't want my money at all. Maybe it's a sign...

I am up in the air as far as how nice the prices are, discounting gray market, the USA Price for the camera I want is $6,699 and the MSRP according to Canon's official website is $6,799 which is only $100 off or less than 1.5% price reduction.

Update (01/27/13): I was contacted by Kevin (manager) regarding my review and he apologized for any confusion or misunderstanding between myself and the rep. I originally spoke with. Kevin insisted Ryther Camera did want my business and we came to an agreement on the USA version of the 1Dx for $6250 and he threw in upgraded shipping. This is more than I originally intended to spend but this will include the US Warranty and with the prior research I've done I don't know of a better price.

"Where to start? This is by far the worst experience I've had dealing with a vendor on line. Other reviews tell about the free shipping letter that implies your order will be shipped uninsured and 4-5 days after they get your order. I then got you bought yheimported model with a 30 day guarantee and you need to upgrade to the US model/warrantee spiel. After paying for an upgrade and Fedex shipping and despite a couple of calls I was told the order was in the shipping area. The next time I was told it was shipped by mail but they would cancel that order and resend it FedEx to be received in 4 days. I was called on the third day told they didn't have it and asked me to wait another 10 days,I then cancelled the order. Followed up two days later and told the credit would processed within two more days. been cancelled, again assured the order would be canceled. Didn't happen. Called credit card company and disputed charge. My advice....buy someplace else no matter how good the deal sounds. If you do buy from them and don't get a shipment notice in a couple of days cancel the order and call your credit card company.

PS Credit issued after credit card company contacted them.

"I ordered sony nex 5n camera at Ryther Camera on Dec 27.
Since I read the review that it might take 2~3 weeks for the product to arrive, I waited patiently. A RytherCamera employee called me a week later to check credit card info and tried to sell additional options such as batteries, lens protector, and etc. I did not buy them at that time. Then they called me a week later again saying that they are shipping the product now. He said it will arrive in a week via FedEx ground, but he did not give me a tracking number. I believed him though no tracking number and waited till camera comes. On the day the camera supposed to come (after 3 weeks of waiting), he left a message saying that the camera I order is not available after all. They already charged on my credit card two weeks ago. When I purchase the camera, website said it was in stock. I could not believe what they did!! I was planning to go on a trip this week, but no camera now!! I checked their website again, then I saw the camera that I order is in stock, but $200 higher price!! I called the employee again, but he said website needs to be updated and they are working on it. That is ridiculous!! I do not believe their lie any more.
I suggest everyone "DO NOT BUY from RytherCamera." Better spending a little more money at a trustworthy vendor than wasting your time at RytherCamera. Not worth it.


Few hours after writing above review, I received a call from Victor at Rythercamera. He apologized about the camera order and promised me to send one from other vendor who has it.

Actually, I received the camera two days later via UPS.
I am so glad to receive the camera in a timely manner this time so that I can take it with me on my vacation. Thank you so much to Victor. Because of you, I might come back to shop at RytherCamera again.
