"I ordered my camera on Jan 1st and chose the "PayPal" option. At the time I received something that looked like a receipt as an email, but I hadn't been taken to PayPal so I knew that I still hadn't paid.
I waited a couple of days and then called on the 3rd. At that point I was told they were having trouble with PayPal, and then the staff tried the hard sale on battery upgrades includes telling me that I have the "one hour battery" (it is still showing a full charge after 3 days). Anyways, despite their "Trouble" with PayPal, I received my paypal request a couple of hours later.
Then queue the shipping wait. The website changed to "Sent to be shipped" several days later, but then didn't change for the rest of the week. So, on the 10th or 11th I called. On the call I was told that the computer read "in route" from their drop shipper in the Midwest.
That was a lie.
Later that evening I received an email from FEDEX with a shipping tracking info- from NJ (their physical location). So, it hadn't been shipped at the time of our phone call. It was a weird lie, because it was pretty obvious after the FEDEX information. The package then arrived on the 14th.
I ordered the Canon T4i- body only. The box that the arrived was the T4i w/18-55 IS II Kit. Upgrade? Nope. They took out the lens.
Summary- I don't know. The camera was cheap. I got what I ordered. I got it in about the time that was expected with free shipping. However, I had to keep pressing to keep that timeline. They had hard sales techniques. The box that my product arrived in was not the product that I ordered (but the product inside was what I ordered). The shipping method wasn't the method I ordered. It ended up being faster- although shipped later and after being lied to about it.
I am stumped. Order at your own risk- I might order again- It was a great price and I got the product. "
"Ryther camera is a terrible place to buy anything. A classic scumbag operation. False advertising on prices, bait and switch tactics. Serious concerns with their shipping. If you order from them, they will consistently call to up-sell you warranties and other products "they say" aren't included with your purchase though they are. You have to know your stuff if you order from these people or else they will double talk you into purchasing unnecessary accessories.
This company has 30 complaints against them in NJ Better Business Bureau and apparently several other complaints to the Attorney Generals office of NJ."

When I called RytherCamera, they were very helpful in helping us put together a good professional camera set. they explained the differences in the products to us. When our order came, we were very pleased with the camera. But, the camera bag was not the one we ordered. I called them. When I ordered this, I was under the impression that I'd get it in about 7 days. Nowhere did it state 2 weeks!!! I'm thinking ok so they don't want to provide me with customer service (to talk to me) or move fast with my order.
Now mind you, I'm still waiting for them to pick up my call and I'm getting turned off...I go online and type in reviews and up comes this page. Start reading the reviews and I realize, "abort, abort!"
Some guy answers the phone after 12 minutes!!! Within that time frame I changed my mind and wanted to cancel my order. I went from verifying when it would ship to completely cancelling the order and they already had my payment info!
I got transferred twice as soon as I said I wanted to cancel and he said "ok we'll send you an email." This guy's name was Jan and the email I guess is from Victor. I was a first-time customer – I won't ever order from this place again, just as good pricing on ebay and I don't have to wait two weeks to get it!

"I am very disappointed with Ryther Camera. I do not recommend to do business with them. I ordered last Dec 20th a Nikon D7000 body. I give them my credit Card number, exp date, security code, billing and shipping address. They Received my order and after 3 days I don't even received a tracking number for my shipping so I call them asking why it was taking so much time. James told me they need 3 days normally to process each order (very strange argument because I saw at the webpage they have it in stock and my credit card was OK) but he told me not worry about it because he was going to deliver it on Dec 26th since the couriers were not working the holiday weekend. In addition he asked me to send copy of my passport photograph page, and copy of the front and back of my credit card because mine was an International sale to be dispatched to an address different of the billing address (I have been buying through Internet for a long time and never before anybody asked me to do this). Today Dec 26th I called again to check my order and it was not shipped yet. The Sales person told me he was going to dispatch it at that time and asked me if I have noticed that in the webpage the item I was ordered said it was an imported item. I asked him what did he mean with "imported item" and he answered that those items were not USA Nikon items and the battery they come with was a generic one. In addition the warranty will be no covered by Nikon USA. That did not sound good to me and made me afraid to continue with my order so I cancelled it and ordered from Amazon.com, the place where I always buy everything, now one hour later I have my order shipped and on my way. I suggest you NEVER buy anything from Ryther Camera is better to pay $50-$60 more and buy from an good And Authorized reseller. Alvaro Arbelaez"
"I was looking for a good price on a camera lens and found a price that was too good to be true. Well, you know what they say - if a price is too good to be true, beware.
I decided to check here on ResellerRatings to see how Ryther Camera rated. I was happy to see that they had a respectable rating and very few issues. So I thought that I would give them a try.
Kyle with was very busy. It sounded like he was answering three phones at once, but he still managed to take my order, make sure he had everything right, reminded me about a couple other things that I might need, and got the order out the next day. Wow!
The order was placed a couple business days before Christmas. They rushed the lens out and I got it on Christmas eve day!
On Christmas morning I finally opened the lens. It was brand new and in perfect condition. They included the accessory filter that I asked for (also at a great price!) in the box.
I highly recommend them. I will do business with them again.

"I ordered a Camera and lens and was told, when I called back with questions on the same day I had ordered, that it had already shipped. I didn't get a tracking number for five days and called three times about the order and was assured it was shipped on the 14th. Today, on the 19th, I finally received a shipping confirmation. It was actually picked up today....the 19th.
In addition, I was told that because they sell cameras at wholesale prices the Nikon warranty isn't valid and I had to purchase their warranty to have any warranty coverage on the camera.
I am very disappointed with this company and wish I had ordered through the company I usually order through. It ended up costing me over $300 more ordering through Ryther Camera.
Additional note: I received a call from the manager of the store after emailing him and posting this review. He was very polite and helpful and tried to clear up the problems. As a gesture of good will he is sending me a 32G high speed memory card. I will keep them in mind when I need additional gear and give them a fair shot at earning my business. He did ask me to add a bit about our conversation here. Which is only fair. "
