"I personally dealt with Kevin and he was great. My whole transaction took over 3 weeks and he was patient with me in my decision making process. Kevin also did everything in his power to make the package he was selling me very good and the price was great. Overall a great experience and they did forget to send me one thing in my package and I called kevin and he said no problem my bad and sent m the extra piece. It was a very large delivery so missing one item wasn't a problem especially when he took care of it. Overall great experience and great price!"

"I recently bought a nikon D7000 camera. The package came but It wasn't a nikon with USA warranty so I called them. There was a discussion in the beginning about the item that I bought. Why would I spend money on a camera with no USA warranty from NIKON itself. I understand that they are offering a company warranty instead but I would prefer the one with USA warranty. I spoke with michael, He said to send them back the camera and they would replace it. I mailed it already, waiting for the new one. I would definitely call nikon to verify once I have the camera. I am still in doubt and not yet satisfied unless I received the replacement!


UPDATE:
I finally received the camera, nikon d7000 with USA warranty. I called nikon and registered the product. I am happy that things turned out well. Good customer service!

"I just purchased a Sony NEX-VG10 package from RytherCamera.
The experience was great, I had time to browse through the website, and check each single items of interest. The sales person (David) was very helpful in sorting out what I really need it, since I don't know much about lenses and accessories. I end up spending a little more that I had planned ($1000 over my budget), but I'm glad I did, now I have everything I need to start having some fun with my new camera. Thanks David.

"My wife ordered a Sony a77 package for me, I had thought that it would be shipped right away but it was not. Upon contacting Ryther they explained how hard it was to get the camera because of the disruptions in Japan and Thailand. They worked with me and got the camera to me a week later than I had expected it. Victor, one of the managers, gave me his cell phone number in case I needed anything and was very helpful.
After I received the order there were a few things missing and the filters were the wrong size.
I spoke with Victor about this and he sent off the missing items but at the time I called-10 minutes after I had received the camera- I had not noticed that the filters were not the correct size. I called again on Victors direct line and explained this to him. He overnighted the correct filters via fedex and I received them just as they promised.
My Impressions:
They have outstanding customer service. I was given an actual cell number and was able to reach a manager whenever I called regarding the order. The order took longer than expected because of supply issues. As soon as they got the camera in they sent it next day fed ex for no extra charge. In regards to the filter issue not only did they send the filters next day fed ex but they also sent a small portable video camera(my 11 year old is THRILLED.
My conclusion is that they were great to deal with. They sent me a free Video Camera and upgraded the memory cards in my package to 16 gig. The whole time they were ALWAYS polite and helpful (even when I was a bit grumpy). I would buy from them again in a minute and I will refer my friends to them as well. One does not really know how a business is to deal with until there is a mix up such as mine and then you get the chance to have them fix it. I am pretty sure they lost money on me with the shipping and upgrades but they seemed the most concerned with fixing the problem and providing great customer service.

"Purchased a camera recently through Ryther Camera. The item is in heavy demand and I was surprised to find that they actually had this item "in stock"...considering many other online companies were on backorder for this item.

After purchasing the camera and reading some reviews online I began to worry about the whole purchase/shipment process. In particular, it appears that many customers would get a call from Ryther with up-sell tactics and clarification on the particular order...and additionally, orders can take quite a while to be shipped. Instead of waiting I figured I would give them a call and get the ball rollin.

The man on the phone informed me that indeed my order was for a gray-market camera. The website was very misleading in the sense that it never stated the camera was a gray-market device. It simply didn't reference anything at all. In fact, if you want the legitimate US retail camera you need to look for the "retail" package. So...after being misled by the website I upgraded to the retail version with the man over the phone.

I wanted this purchase by christmas and therefore ordered expedited shipping. After getting a number of different stories about when it would be shipping, I finally spoke with a manager. After speaking with the manager it appeared that the camera would first ship to them, and then be overnighted to me just in time for Christmas. I honestly questioned whether this is actually going to happen or not. They seem confident that they can get me my camera in the timeline that both parties committed to.

I intend on updating this review in the coming days after I receive the camera. So far, my experience with the company has not been promising. However, if they follow through on their word for delivery, I have to say I would be very impressed.

So to sum it all up...the jury is still out. There have been some ups and downs in terms of dealing with this company. I will return with a conclusion after everything plays out. Stay Tuned.



***UPDATE - Dec 28, 2011***
A few days before my order was expected to arrive I received a call from RytherCamera. Apparently, there was something wrong with my item and they did not feel comfortable shipping it in it's current state. The man on the phone was extremely apologetic and treated me very well. To compensate for all of the inconvenience RytherCamera shipped me a 129.00 vivitar bag for FREE. This was not only a nice gesture, but assured me that the company truly does care about their customers and wants to do good business!

There have been some ups and downs throughout this whole process, but I am convinced that RytherCamera is a good company to purchase from. They always answered the phone, and made right when my order went wrong.

"Don't order from these guys. I wish I had looked at all the reviews before ordering. Check out all the bad reviews on yelp.. I ordered a canon T3i on a Friday and paid $30 for standard shipping. Well come Monday I still didn't have any tracking information, so I called them and was passed through 3 employees until I was at the other end of the line with the rudest person THE OWNER. he answered with "what's your problem"
And that was it it never got better from there. I explained to him I wanted a tracking number and he started insulting me by saying why should I expect a tracking order so soon. I was infuriated by his insults. I asked to cancel the order three times and he refused until I told him I will contact the credit card company.
Spend the extra $50 and by from someone who cares about customer service like B&H

"Bought a new Nikon D5100 and when I went to register the serial number I was told it was a Gray Market camera! When it qwas purchased I was specifically told it had a NIkon USA Warranty! Buyer beware, just another crappy camera company trying to scam people out of their money."

"I placed an order for a Nikon D5100 on Nov 28 and selected 7-9 day shipping. Three days later, the order status was still "new order" rather than "shipped", so I asked them about it via email.

The next morning, a sales rep calls and says they hadn't been able to ship my order because were still verifying my CC info. My BS detector goes off. The guy asks if I want to upgrade to the "2 hour battery" or the "4 hour battery" because the camera only comes with a "one hour battery". This was clearly a lie because there is no higher capacity battery for the D5100 than the one that it comes with. I declined the battery "upgrade" and the 3 year extended warranty he also offered.

He then said the camera would arrive between Dec 20 and Dec 22 which is not 7-9 business days but 16-18. I asked to speak to his supervisor. Victor the supervisor said the salesman had made a mistake and I would be getting the camera between Dec 14 and 16, which is still 12-14 business days rather than 7-9 but I decided not to let that bother me.

Later that day (Dec 2), the order status changed to "Sent out for shipping". I hoped this meant they had finally shipped it, but it turned out they hadn't. On the bright side, it looked like their credit card verification issues had suddenly gone away.

On Dec 11, I finally received an email saying my camera shipped via FedEx. Ryther Camera had been sitting on it for 9 days! Why?

The camera arrived Dec 16 as promised by Victor. It did not come with a warranty card and when I turned it on, I noticed it was set to some Asian language. I was not expecting to be sold a grey market import because it wasn't advertised as such. I wouldn't have spent $1000+ on a camera and lens had I known I was not getting a US warranty.

I love the camera, but I am not happy with the way the purchase went.

UPDATE: Victor the manager called me and apologized for the missing warranty card. He offered me a free 3-year warranty (more than the standard 1 year Nikon warranty), and threw in a free memory card.
He really seemed to care about his customers and I am much happier now.

UPDATE 2: I received the extended warranty today, Dec 23. Unfortunately, it seems the warranty is worthless because it is through Mack Camera (mackcam.com). They get very negative ratings on this site for being frauds.

"I purchased a Canon 60d Package on the 28th which was 3 weeks ago. I emailed for the tracking number and no reply. I left a message and no return call. This company customer service sucks big time. Mickey the sale person was rude and didn't process my order until a week later. I'm surprised it's still in business. I wonder where does all these good reviews come from? Family and employees? If my order don't come in by this week, which is a whole month. I will called and cancel or return the damn order. I rather spend $50 more and go to reputable place like BH Photo.

After this review, Kevin contacted me and apologized for the delay. He promised and shipped the camera the next day. I picked up the camera yesterday and all the items are there.

I'm glad Kevin took care of my situation. I don't understand how they said shipping is already on the way and are shipped from various location. But Kevin shipped my product the next day from RytherCamera. They need to improved customer service and especially shipping method. I took more than 3 weeks to get my camera. I'm just glad it finally came in. I got to give to Kevin for the prompt return. I'm changing overall satisfaction to a 3 due to Kevin assistant.

"I have removed my previous Review of my purchase from RytherCamera, as I have been able to work through all issues involved with the Owner/manager.
I was not happy with the initial request, being asked to present pictures of my credit card/Drivers License to complete the order/purchase process.
I actually called to cancel my order this morning, until I spoke with the owner/manager, Vic, who explained that the person that took my order was mis-informed about process.
Vic was able to address my concerns in a professional manner, and explain every step of their ordering process and corrections to my order. I will give Vic 5-Stars for his ability to win over my confidence with this order.

As I have upgraded my review of RytherCamera, I do feel compelled to share one experience. If you order online and want equipment with Manufacturers warranty, you should call RytherCamera to be sure your purchase is covered by the OEM.
