"I ordered a Sony A77 Body only camera from RytherCamera on 11/23/2011.
I had talked with their online chat to confirm that the item was in stock. Most every other store were out of stock for this particular item, so I wanted to make sure they actually had it in stock like their website stated. I was reassured via a web chat with a Sales Rep that they did in fact have the camera in stock and not to worry. I placed my order immediately after that conversation.
On Sunday (11/23/2011) I got a email from a sales rep requesting that I call in and confirm my order. I did immediately and he tried to sell me some extra accessories. He also informed me that the camera would not come with a US warranty, and that if I wanted a warranty I would have to purchase a warranty through RytherCamera. At first I did not want to spend the extra money, but then I called in later and added a 1 year warranty for an additional $120.I was told the camera should arrive on my doorstep on 12/10/2011.
I noticed after one week from my order date that there was no update to my order. No charge to my card, no status update, nothing, so I called them again on 11/27/2011. I was reassured that everything was fine and that I would have the camera on my doorstep by 12/10/2011.
I waited another week thinking maybe their system just doesn't update very frequently. On 12/6/2011 I called again, because I had still not gotten any update on the status of the order and my camera was due to arrive in four days. The sales rep informed me that RytherCamera did NOT have the camera in stock, despite their website saying they did, so I canceled my order for now.
A few days later I was contacted by Michael, who sincerely apologized for the trouble I had gone through and told me he would personally make sure I knew the instant they received the product in stock again. He offered to ship me some free accessories for my trouble. This makes me feel a little bit better about the customer service of RytherCamera.
SUMMARY:
Ordered Sony A77 from RytherCamera. They reassured me it was in stock. It was not. I canceled my order.
I was contacted by RytherCamera and they sincerely, apologized for their mistake, and reassured I would get notified the instant camera was available."

"I had a number of issues with my order from RytherCamera. 7 days after I purchased my D7000 online I had not received the item, when I called them they told me there was a problem with the billing address. When asked why I had not been contacted by them regarding the problem, the person told me that they had emailed me twice regarding the matter. This was untrue. I asked the person to please send the item to me by friday, it was then monday, to which she replied she would try. Of course on friday the camera did not arrive. I called again to complain and they overnighted me the camera. The camera came and it was fine but the box was missing the charger!! I called about the charger that day. They told me they were sending out another charger. That charger never arrived but they did 2nd day another charger to me and give me a $40 gift certificate. Overall, this company addressed my problems but I have to say the whole process was not as easy as it could have been."
"So today is my first official day out with my camera; reminding me to leave a review for Ryther. I couldn't have been more happy/ satisfied. I had originally been on the Internet shopping for Xmas presents for my family about 3 weeks ago when I stumbled upon RytherCamera's website. At first I thought it was bogus bc the deal that had caught my eye was just so unbelievable. I did a lot of research before committing to anything. I looked up the legitimacy of the business, as well as skimmed many, many reviews. I had mixed feelings from the reviews bc there seemed to be a couple of negative comments. I went back and fully read the bad ones and found that the complaints were bogus... They really weren't that bad. I mean there were some issues here and there, but all of them stated in the end that they were taken care of in some way, & most of these people came off as those people that really complain about any and everything. So I went a head and made my purchase. The package was for the Canon Rebel T3, and it came with the standard 18-55mm lens and 15 other items (that's right; FIFTEEN) ranging from a 4gb mem card, 67" tripod, camera bag, external flash, & much more. All for the price of what I would pay for just for the camera if I would've bought it at say a B&H in the city!!!! There were other deals that went up like a hundred dollars with each grouping if you wanted say a 70-300mm lense included instead, and so forth.
After receiving my confirmation email I made a phone call to make sure everything was okay. After speaking with Kevin who was polite and very helpful, we actually came to the decision that I would go to the store and pickup my package instead of having it mailed to me.
When I got there a week later; I looked everything over & was impressed with the quality of items they included for the price. He pitched some extra items to me; and this is what some of the negative comments were about (them 'pushing' you to buy more stuff) - yeah well I took full advantage of it bc, hello people, they're giving it at a discount! I bought an extra battery, uv filters, both at a discounted price, and bc I did, he actually took my 4gb mem card which was a level 6, & switched it for a level 10 8gb. He didn't have to do that. So people; before you get all huffy puffy .. Find out all of the details first.
Also.. Not that this has anything to do with my camera.. But they let me use there bathroom in the back (they do not have a public bathroom) .. Their customer service is the best I've dealt with in a while.. ESP during this hectic holiday season.
Don't hesitate when contemplating on buying from Ryther. Everything was brand new and I am still ecstatic over my purchase. Great experience. Will definitely use them again!! And soon :)

"Beware bait and switch techniques. I found a Canon T3i DSLR at about $50 less than most other online shops and they offered free shipping.
Sounds great, but it turns out the camera didn't have a US warranty, the free shipping meant my order sat there for 10 days before they shipped it, and they called my home and gave me a hard sell pitch a couple of days after my online order.
I love the camera, but I regret ordering from Ryther Camera.
The warranty type isn't mentioned on the product description. You have to click the 6th tab over, called "what's in the box", and then at the bottom it says "1 years limited warranty". So this is kind of hidden and it's not at all clear that it isn't a US manufacturer's warranty.
The shipping was another disappointment. They offered free shipping which I didn't expect to be fast, but it was remarkably slow. It took them 10 days to send it out. Thankfully Fedex ground shipping was very fast and it took just 4 days in transit. But that makes it a total of 14 days for shipping and I'm in Arizona, not Hawaii or Alaska. Of course, I know now why it takes so long to ship it.
A few days after my online order they called and tried to hard sell me on a camera with US warranty for $50 more. Well I was a little shocked to learn it wasn't a US warranty, but I guess that is why the price was low. Also, they pitched some incredibly overpriced accessories. Finally, they offered faster shipping. I didn't imagine that they would hold my order for several days before shipping it. Very disappointing."
