"I placed an order this morning for a canon 7D along with a canon 18-135mm lens. I have browsed around on the Internet for a while to find the right price and they had a stellar deal so I decided to purchase it through ryther camera. I felt great about my decision. AFTER I made the purchase I then received an email explaining their shipping practices along with a confirmation of my order. I wasn't at thinking it would take up to 2.5 weeks to relieve the camera. In the beginning when you read their company policy on their web site it says in stock orders will be charged and shipped within 72 hours.

Please allow 72 business hours from when the order is placed (provided the merchandise ordered is available and in stock) that those orders be shipped. All orders will be processed, billed, and shipped within 72
A signature is required for all shipments upon receipt.
But then keep reading down the company policy page and it says this....
PLEASE NOTE IF YOU SELECT FREE SHIPPING, IT MAY TAKE UP TO 2 TO 2 ½ WEEKS BEFORE YOU WILL RECEIVE IT. THERE MAY OR MAY NOT BE A TRACKING #’S PROVIDED WITH FREE SHIPPING. BY SELECTING FREE SHIPPING, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT YOU CAN UPGRADE TO FEDEX STANDARD OR FEDEX EXPRESS AT ANYTIME.
So, first it says orders will be shipped within 72 hours and require a signature but if you keep reading down the page it now says something compleatly different!?!? Free shipping will not ship for 3-4 business days and take 7-9 days for delivery AND then it may take up to 2-2.5 weeks! I did the math and it didnt add up. This made me start thinking.... Did I make the right move by ordering through these guys or did I just make a big mistake.... These contradictions concerned me.
I know I can cancel the order in the morning if what I purchased isn't what I thought I was purchasing (like a grey market or international camera with out a USA Canon warrenty... Not what I though I was purchasing) since there is no way it would be processed yet since it takes a long time to process free shipping orders.
I took a closer look this afternoon at their web page and it does not specify if this camera is a USA camera or a grey market camera. And I also read reviews about others getting grey market cameras. Now, i am going to call them tomorrow first thing to make sure that the camera I purchased is a USA camera and comes with a canon USA warrenty for both the lens and the camera that can be registered on canons U.S web site. Also, I will ask if the camera will come in a brand new,never been oppened box.
I'm writing this review right now to keep you posted on my journey so we can all see how this turns out. I am hoping my experience will be great like some others have posted and not just another bad review. I am looking forward to doing business with them because their prices were right and they had in stock what I need. I will post again tomorrow and let you know how it all turns out when I talk to Ryther Camera in the morning.
*UPDATE* Nov,9 (next day)
This morning I called and talked to Kyle who was very helpful in answering my questions and also my concerns. I found out that the price I paid for the camera was for the " international" version of the 7D. I was explained that if the camera says limited warrenty that means its an international) I told Kyle that I had wanted a USA 7d with the canon warrenty and told him what amazon had to offer price wise and Kyle was very helpful and gave me a better price on the USA camera then amazon had. He also heard my concerns of the shipping and upgraded the shipping to fed ex ground at no extra charge. He said it should arrive in about a week. So far I am happy that I purchased my camera through ryther camera and would consider making future purchases from them if the price was right.They were very helpful addressing my concerns, easy to talk to, and I still feel like I got a great deal on the camera I wanted. I think if you know what you want and what to look for then they can be a great place to get what you need. They want to make their customers happy so they come back for future purchases. they explained that they are a smaller business with less employees then some of the other company's so it takes a little more time for things to get processed. I feel like they gave me a great deal and good customer service and they put my mind at ease. So far, glad I bought from them. I will update again when I get my camera next week!!

I received my camera and lens the following week and could not be any happier. I got the best deal from ryther camera and everything is great. Just registered all my gear on canons warrenty web site and all is well. I would deffinetly order from these guys again. So, there you go... I started off a sceptic and ended as a happy customer! "

"Not knowing much about DSLR cameras I did a lot of research on the internet to see what camera was best. After exstensive research I decide to buy my wife a Nikon D7000 for her 40th birthday. Once decided on the type of camera to buy it then boiled down to where to buy it. Once again I hit the Internet and came across Ryther Camera on an Amazon.com web page. I immediately noticed their pricing was a little better then all others but not that significant that drew a red flag. I proceeded with the purchase thru their web site. I then called their customer service to confirm my order, immediately the guy tried to up sell me, which I thought was normal. He pushed the extra battery and warranty then said if I bought the package I would qualify for the US model. That threw me back a little, not knowing what he meant, I said I want the US model regardless if I buy the package or not. After about 5 minutes I decided to get the extra battery and he threw in a filter and the 3 year warranty. I told him again I wanted the US model and he said no problem. I purchased the 3 day shipping. After I hung up I was a little concerned about the statement regarding US model camera, so I once again hit the Internet. There I found out about gray market cameras and Nikons US service policy. This concerned me a great deal but felt comfortable with he conversation I had with Ryther I would get a US model. I got the package in 3 days which was great... a day before my wife's birthday. The bad news it was a gray market version. I immediately called Ryther and spoke to Victor. He was more than helpful and apologized for the error and we tried to work out a way to get the correct camera to my wife ASAP. We decided I would purchase a second Nikon D7000 and at the same time Victor would send me a return shipping label. Victor promised me the camera on a certain day and I got it. I have sent back the old camera and now am waiting for my refund for that one. The camera is exactly as promised and I got the 3 year extended warranty for free as well. I would definitely recommend them and I would purchase from them again as long as your very specific to what you want and can handle the up selling attempts.

"One of the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I placed my order on 09/22/11 for a Sony HVR-A1U, after researching many like websites. Price was great for $1,789, tried to pay using PayPal. Then it began the mess, their system never transfer me to PayPal payment page, so I just placed the order and the sent an email, asking for an invoice.
3 days waiting, 09/25 got an email from Rep David Brennon asking me to call and confirm, which i did it, and then started asking for extra things, batteries, cases, flashes, memory cards, and so on! I told him I have everything and wanted just my camcorder, then he said the price was higher that the website, said this camcorder was an imported model!! Come on! Again that sells technique to push you to buy extra things or increasing the price! Price was increased to $200 more for a US model. There is no place in their website saying that was a “international model”
I told him what a trick sells technique to show a price in the site and then try charging more over the phone! I have placed A LOT of online orders (every week) and have NEVER had customer service as poor as this! This is the reason people keep buying from Amazon even if they have a little higher price! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE AT ALL."

"Ordered a camera body only online and within a day a representative called to "verify my order". Immediately they tried to upsell me wanting me to pay for extra accessories, etc. I did add on an additional battery. It took the company close to two weeks to even ship my order out. They were to send me a tracking number which I never received. I had to call and ask for it. Once I received the package, the camera was the only thing in there.. no extra battery I purchased. So, I had to call to inquire. They forgot to send it. Finally my extra battery arrives, and it'd not even the correct one for my camera. Had to call customer service again, which they keep you on hold anywhere from 10-38 minutes. By this point I was fed up and wanted to return everything and just purchase from another company.
After my issues were discussed, the company did end up refunding me more than what I paid for the battery, and they also sent me a free 8gb memory card, which I thought was nice of them to do. I understand things sometime happen, so I would likely buy from them again as their prices are very competitive."
