"I had been communicating with Saatva over several weeks about mattresses for two rooms. We ultimately chose a local store from which we have bought major items for many years (and been very satisfied) as the source of the first mattress and Saatva for the second (with a frame.) I asked Saatva reps many questions in the online chat room during several interactions and ALWAYS got prompt and accurate answers. At no time did I feel the slightest bit of pressure to buy the product. If the mattress is as good as the customer service, I will be very pleased."

"I expect that most people do a lot of research when spending over $1,000 on anything. I did TONS of research and decided that Saatva is probably the right choice for me. The trial deal helped me make the decision to go with Saatva. When I went to the site and actually pressed the "buy" button, the annoying "chat" box kept coming up, repeatedly asking if I had any questions. Well I pressed "buy" so why ask if I still have questions? I minimized the chat box, but then it appeared again. I never initiated a chat or responded to the one that popped up. I think it would be better to have an easy to click "initiate chat" button, rather than have the chat pop up. Other than that, it was a smooth and easy process. I just got the confirmation and it said that someone would phone me from the delivery service between 7 and 15 days after placing my order. When I buy anything online, the next day I get an actual date to expect delivery. I think most of your customers would appreciate getting an actual date (or tight date range) to help anticipate when a mattress will be delivered. Keep in mind, it's a $1,000+ purchase. Should I expect NO contact from anybody in the next 14 days? And then should I call if I don't hear from anyone by day 15? It would be much better to say things like "we're building your mattress," or "we're contacting the delivery service," or "we're putting it on the truck!" Keeping consumers informed is the new and preferred way to market. (As you might expect, I'm a college marketing professor and I run a marketing consulting business that helps companies like yours deal with issues like this! If you want to talk more, let me know.)"
