"WARNING: IF Your Family and safety is importation to You, stay away from this Company LiveWatch its a joke Horrible service. I payed over $588.00 plus $39.95. for the worst service ive ever had in my life. Ive been with company for around 10 day now and called in two days ago to cancel my serves. Let me start with the first day of service, I got my equipment from the company just to fine out after it took me and my Wife 6 hours to install because I had to make wood custom blocks out of wood so my doors sensors would even work on my Commercial doors, then when I got all the equipment in place we called Livewatch to Activate service just to fined out that they for got to ship a major part that I payed for that communicates with the camera system, so they had to send another main system a couple days later. so I had to unhook the first one and install the second one then take that one 8 miles to the airport to ship it back to them through FedEx, now after installing the second panel, that same night the new panel stopped working so and the company never send me any emails or even called me to let me know that my alarm system was not working and that anyone could have broke in and we would not even know it. the way I found out that it quit working is that me and my wife went into the business to discover that the main panel was completely white so we had to call there tech-support to reset the unit. and not more then 2 hours later i had left the facility and came back to find out that the second panel that communicates with the main panel stop work so I had to run all the way to the second main panel but i reach it the alarm went off and almost blew out my eardrums.so I had to call there text support just to reset the whole system, then to make thing even worse they lied to us about the Camera system that we add to the system security, it only takes 40 pictures a month then you have to pay more money for that service and we where told that it was unlimited. then we got billed for $19.95 that they agreed to wave after signing up with the Company, so I had to call the billing department and had one of there billing agents get smart with me over the phone as if I was steeling from the Company. because there sale department had set me up with a package deal including waving the $19.95 activation fee. and to top it all off the night we got the system with the new main panel working. I get a call at 1:58am stating my building had a motion sensor go off and want to know if they should call the police. I told them go ahead because I was at home so me and my wife got out of bed ran across town to are company to fined out there was nothing going on at all not even the alarm was going. So we drove back home to just to walked in the door to get a call from livewatch, tech-support stating that we had a break-in and that the Police where a are business and that a basement window was broken out. and they wanted to know my time of arrival I told I could be back there in 8mins or so. So me and my wife walked back out the door had to go clean across town to fined out that there was no Police at all and the everything was normal so I called 911 and asked if they had any call for this location and they said no, none at all. this Company are liers and only want your Money. so now Im trying to get my Money back from them. The people writing good review about this company are probably there own staff members to bring up there ratings."
"EDIT: After posting this negative review (below) I was contacted by Joe Thomas at Safemart to help me resolve the trouble I was having. Due to the variety of things that went wrong with the hardware I had it was clear that the problems I encountered went way beyond my ability to solve. With great effort on both of our parts, Joe was ultimately able to help me get my system working again and I am very grateful for the solid hour he spent on the phone with me (on his personal cel phone after hours) to get my system working again. I owe him a debt of gratitude.
I did explain to Joe that Safemart could improve their customers situation greatly by including better documentation with their systems. One cannot simply ignore the massive headaches they have had to endure while installing and configuring a wireless security system. That being said, had I knew who to call prior to starting this project my experience could have been avoided. I guess the important factor for a Safemart buyer to consider is make sure you get the after hours number for help before signing up. With the proper customer support base there is no reason you should have problems with this company.
I ammended my review and bumped Safemart up because of the extra help.
-----Original Review-----
I have been a Safemart customer since Feb 13. The initial phone support was ok and the basic system setup was pretty easy, however, I quickly realized as you add features to your system knowledgeable customer support becomes scarce.
Part of the allure of a Safemart system are the extra features you can buy into. Through a third party website, alarm.com, users can manage their system remotely. It sounds good in theory, but what they fail to tell you, and what I learned the hard way, is that they have no control over anything you depend on for the system to work. The equipment they sell you, the company that monitors your alarm, and the alarm.com website are all separate entities, they are just middlemen. When you have real trouble with your system after hours (which I did frequently) you'll have to wait until business hours to get trouble sorted.
Though I could go on about the many issues I discovered with their service, (once it was installed but too late to return) for brevity I'll just mention two.
The first problem we had were sensors sending false data to the alarm.com website. On several occasions when we were out of town the website had indicated that doors were open which prompted an investigation on one occasion, and a police squad entering the property with guns drawn on the other. After struggling with this problem for a few months, Alarm.com blamed the equipment that Safemart sold us and Safemart blamed alarm.com's "latency period" with the website. Neither were very helpful responses.
Another area of frustration, and a massive expense, were the camera's. Safemart sells some prepackaged camera's that work with the website, but not well. The resolution is ok, and they are highly configurable, but depending on the light and how much motion the camera is picking up (i.e. wind, shadows, trees, birds, etc), you'll end up having to turn off the motion detection anyways because you'll get too many false alarms. False alarms = a big bill at the end of the month for web traffic.
Also, the cameras technically work over Wi-fi but to get them working is nothing short of a massive effort, plus you still need to hire a licensed electrician to pull power to them since POE is not available. You need to know (and this is not disclosed in the literature) that you have to connect the camera to your router prior to installation. Once they're installed you'll need to drag a super long Cat5 cable to the camera, climb up to it, and repeatedly reset the camera until the website finds it over your router with their EZ Install Wizard (that is not). Expect to spend about an hour per camera and multiple reset efforts before you actually get the camera to work with the website, if you can get it to work at all.

"Safemart is a class act. They are an alarm monitoring company whose basic business is monitoring equipment that reports security breaches or fire occurrences at your premises. They provide faultless service and clear instruction at every stage of one's order. Their monitoring cost is among the best in the industry. Their equipment cost is low. Their ship time is immediate. Safemart provides e-Mail information that is relative to every part of the order process.
I am writing this review because Safemart is so far ahead of other retailers, no matter what their specialty is, that they deserve to be praised. The existence of an organization such as Safemart gives on hope that all is not lost in our world."
"Great service from SafeMart. The representatives were very clear about the entire install and account setup process, and they made it very easy to reschedule my setup appointment since I wasn't ready on the original date. A perfect choice for DIY security system owners. "
"I had an awesome experience with SafeMart. The biggest thing for me was that everything was shipped to me right away and was really easy to put up. I'm always worried with wireless technology that I'll screw something up, but SafeMart's system was super simple. I was looking for a wireless home security system that lets me look in on live video from the security cameras, and with this system that's become part of my daily routine. Overall, I'm really grateful for how easy they made everything and how much safer I feel in my home."
"I have not received my products yet, but having to pay 500 a pop each time you want to order on-line is odd. I called in and they ordered the items for me. I like things easy and this is not as easy as I would like. I have not received the merchandise yet, but hope that is a painless end of my order."
"Been a customer for one year. SafeMart was very helpful getting me started. The order arrived very quickly and their techs were extremely helpful walking me through the setup. The monitoring service is very reliable and the Android App works very well. I have recommended their service to several friends and family, all of whom are also happy. "

Same equipment as expensive Alarm companies; low cost monitoring, short contract
Here is the rip, other alarm companies make money on monitoring service. Like selling a car, their job is to get you to pay the highest rate. Safemart is different, for $20/m you get the same service you would pay $40-80/m. I don't use the fancy service just basic (alarm goes off they call the popo). Equipment was easy to install (all wireless). The only trick was putting sensor on one door with odd matching surface. Turns out the sensors don't have to be aligned fully, so cool.
Online video's are great as well as documentation, everything you need to know is online. If you need to call them, I have not had to wait more than a min to talk to a real person. So far, they have always had the answer. One time, on the weekend I think, they took my name for a support person to call me back during the week.
I also paid my first contract year up front, that saved me a couple months monitoring service. Look out for other companies that want you to hook-up for 2, 3 years DONT DO IT!!
So SM is just great, easy setup, 1 yr contract max, low cost for monitoring; cool beans!!"
"I used to use ADT for many years, and since I've switched to SafeMart, the difference was ASTOUNDING. SafeMart has been amazing responding to my every question and addressing my every need. I'm generally not very good at setting up devices myself, but the DIY setup was extremely doable, and saved me a lot of money! So far, I love SafeMart and I've been recommending to all my friends and family, and now you too! You won't regret it."
"I've been a customer for over a year. Went with SafeMart after reviewing all the options. Decided that the cost savings in doing it myself was significant when in every respect I was getting similar or better security coverage for my family. They are no pressure in pushing a sale, always professional, and responsive. I have the flexibility to easily add and tailor, and with all the latest technologies. I highly recommend them."
"We are very pleased with our SafeMart security system. It was easy to install, is a great value, and gives us the peace of mind we were looking for. We recommend SafeMart!"
"I have ordered several things from Safemart over the past couple of years, and every order was delivered on time with no hassle other then trying to get them to refund overcharged shipping that took about a month to get refund on one order.
The 2011 Safemart is not the same company. My last order with them arrived 2 weeks late, although promised in 2 days. Arrived incomplete (missing the power cord to a new GE panel), promised to ship by overnight several times, did not deliver on any of those promises. So Finally had to cancel the order considering that I didnt feel comfortable allowing a mis-managed company like this to also be the company in charge of alerting the police, fire etc...Couldnt afford to have another broken promise by them if my alarm went off or emergency medical was required.
When I called to explained my situation and why I was cancelling, I was told it was no problem and I would receive an email which would include an RMA # and address to ship equipment back to. I received nothing. I made several phone calls and sent 5 emails requesting the RMA info. I never received the RMA info, but received a voicemail letting me know I would be charged a 20% restocking fee and it wasnt to late to change my mind...and another call which was a salesman offering me 2 free months of monitoring to stay or again face the 20% restocking fees. Had to report to my Credit Card Company's dispute dept in order to get refund.
This company has lost their way, they are no longer the old Safemart that provided good customer support and service in the past. They have become a den of theives who refuse to issue refunds contrary to what their website says...they operate like your typical online NYC camera store with HIGH PRESSURE SALES CALLS AND/OR THREATS OF RESTOCKING FEES AND AVOIDANCE TACTICS. With so many choices out there, why take a chance on these guys and put them in charge of your home/office security systems?
***Buyer Beware***

"I made an order with Safemart in the early morning of 12-08-08. My confirmation e-mail said that they would notify me when the order ships. After “Not” being contacted By E-mail or by phone within 48 hours, I decided to go to the website on 12-10-08 and contact them by chat to have for my records. This is a condense version of the conversion I had with Jason.
[Guest] ? do you have this order in stock?
[Jason] it is shipping directly from the manf.
[Jason] unfortunately it looks as if this part is on back order until the 1st of the year...
[Guest] cancel this order and I will find it else where, can you do this?
[Jason] I can do this...I apologize for the trouble...
[Guest] Email (Note: remove e-mail address) with cancel confirmation please
[Jason] ok I will do that for you...
[Guest] thank you
This review of Safemart actions are irresponsible by not caring about a potential customer. The reason is by not informing me of the backorder within a reasonable time and by leaving me to believe that they actually had the product that I was trying to purchase from them.
I’m not happy Safemart, for wasting my time trying to buy your product. This is one customer that won’t be back.
Note: As of 12-11-08 Jason didn’t find the time to write the e-mail with a confirmation of cancellation.
UpDate: 12-18-08 No E-mail from Jason or safemart. Jason had no intentions of contacting me...Way to go guys at Safemart, good business practices."
