"I was looking for a way to get better reception for my hunting property so I "Googled" TV Antennas and found American Tower. The website was so-so on details so I made an inquiry on their service link and was answered via email by "Ashley" What a gem she is! She walked me through options and gave me the feeling that I was at the right place to find what I needed. Better yet she maintained contact with me to insure I had a good shopping experience and has made a couple of follow-up checks to get answers to questions I keep firing at her.

"Returns. I purchased a Dishnetwork DVR receiver on 9.14.14 as a replacement unit. It was delivered on 9.17.14, I connected it on 9.17.14 fresh out of the box. Had not even opened any literature, remote, etc... still in original wrapping. The hard drive failed and I called tech support per message on screen. The rep had a heck of a time entering my email address. -- and she still did not get it correct. I was told by her that I would receive an ERL -- Electronic Return Label within 12 hrs. MONDAY, 9.22.14 I called to find out where the label was. I was informed that it was not approved yet. I requested to talk to a manager about why it had not been generated. Matt connected me to the department where I left a voice mail to return my call and asked why it had not been approved yet. I did not receive a call back. I called again later that afternoon and Audrey told me the process took 3-4 days to process. It was already on the 4th day-- W, TH, F, M. I told her I would be patient and wait. Today, 9.25 I called again to find out where the label was to send the unit back. I was told it was sent out but the email address was incorrect. 4 days to get a label? I asked again to speak to a supervisor. Matt connected me and I left the 2nd message. The process is that you have to have the dept. manager sign off on the return then sent to his/her manager to sign off on it, then unit is shipped back and then tested to determine if the problem is real, then the ship out the product. However, I could circumvent this process if I chose to purchase another unit then when the testing and everything was done, I would received credit. This is the first time I have ever dealt with this company and I certainly was not going to buy another one if they could not even get this label out in a timely manner.
I suspect it will be 3-4 weeks to finish this process due to what seems to be incompetence. I run a business and if treated my customers this way,, I would not have many at the end of the month.
I was happy with the product originally shipping in record time. .but dealing with customer service and returns are a nightmare. Never again."

"I just wanted the people at Solid Signal to know on what a wonderful sales person Sarah is. I called your company yesterday with a question regarding an additional amount of money that I owed due to extra shipping charges. Sarah was right there to answer my question. Basically the bottom line was that the majority of my payment had gone through Paypal then the residual amount of monies that I owed for the additional shipping charges would also have to be processed that way . As I had never used the Paypal system to make payments using my email address Sarah told me the she personally would check with the Paypal administrator at your company and confirm receipt of the monies and also if everything went through she would ensure that my order was processed asap. Either way Sarah would get back to me. As she promised, Sarah emailed me today confirming that Solid Signal had received my additional Paypal payment and that my order had been picked and shipped today July 23,2014. During our initial telephone conversation Sarah also answered several of my technical questions including signal and RG-06 cable runs, how to set-up my independent UHF and VHF antennas and questions on splitters. "Excellent Customer Service. I encountered a problem in the ordering process. Customer service contacted me to resolve the issue within a short time after reporting it. This was huge because my order shipped out as soon as possible. Also I appreciate being able to speak to a sales person till 9:00 pm eastern time. "I ordered DB8e antenna from Solid signal from Canada. The shipping according to their website was supposed to be free. The order went through and I got a confirmation that the ordered was complete. The next day I received and email from the company telling me that there would be shipping charge in amount of approx $55 US. This is bad customer service and i was not pleased. The solidsignal's response to my complaint was that I did not read carefully and they did not care that their own website actually allowed the sell. The system should have promted me that there would be additional charges like all other sites."
"It took me about three weeks to finally get a TV antenna that picked up our local signals. I thought my research was complete so I purchased an Antennacraft HDX1000. I like the idea of a small profile antenna that looked to be strong enough. Well, it was too powerful for the distance it covered. Called and spoke to Glendy, who was very knowledgeable about their products. After her research of my area, she suggested an Xtreme Signal HDB8X. Returned the HDX1000 and picked up the HDB8X without a hitch. Eric took good care of me and my return. Most thought for sure this antenna would function well in my area and I was feeling good with the choice. It too, is a smaller profile antenna but larger than the HDX1000.
Brought the HDB8X home that morning and a good friend, Fred, put it up for me. We turned it, using a new remote control Channel Master rotator, and sadly it too was far more powerful for my area. We still received a lot of pixillation on most stations and scrambled sound. Called to make arraignments for another return and received another RMA. The next morning I arrived at Solid Signals door at 9:00am. Spoke to Mike, who is Glendy’s supervisor I believe, who suggested a Winegard HD7697. He mentioned the other two were quite powerful antennas and that the Winegard should be superior to them for my areas. That afternoon, Fred showed up and installed this antenna. It’s like what I had before about 12 feet in length with many elements. One BIG difference, this one did the trick and I am now receiving 34 stations, all the Detroit local stations and some from as far away as Toldeo. I am very happy with this antenna.
I am also very happy to have met many of the employees at Solid Signal like Al M. and Adam. Everyone treated me with respect and helped with every visit. I’m lucky to have them close enough to drive back and forth.
zen4us, I can understand where you are coming from but these are very good people who had gone out-of-their way to assist me in finding an antenna to work. Yes, it took three antennas to get it right in my case but that shows that not every antenna will work for a particular area. They were there to help me and guide me through all this. I am no expert when it comes to antennas, THEY ARE! zen4us, maybe you did not read their return policy about returning everything, and original packaging. It is also good to have the RMA BEFORE you return anything. This holds true for most returns at any Company. zen4us, I am not picking you out of the group. Just is yours was the most recent posting. Hope you have everything worked out.
So, if anyone wants some good expert assistance, regarding antennas, or anything else Solid Signal may sell, buy with the confidence that someone will be there to help you through it all and they carry good quality equipment. "I purchased an antenna from Solid Signal, specifically Winegard Flatwave. I live in the city, not in the suburb about 30-34 miles from the antenna. Even after all the adjustment and checking the angle with my phone to be precise, the signal use to fall off intermittently. I spent numerous hours and painful moments to try to fix it.
I brought this issue up to the customer service and the supervisor of Solid Signal.. and they did not seem concerned. I mentioned, that I need a replacement for a faulty antenna, and their response is I need to pay for shipment.
I obtained an RMA, and shipped it back to the merchant after paying for shipment. I see a credit in my account for a partial amount (which was about 60% of the the full-price of the antenna).
Its a double hit, payment of shipping ~ $20 + $40 (as some absurd fees).
I brought this matter up to the customer service, and they start making excuses (of policy bla... bla... bla..)
I wanted to give some other retailer, other than Amazon a chance... although I am an Amazon Prime Subscriber.. My recommendation, PLEASE STAY AWAY, unless you are really lucky to have no problems."
