"Sonic Electronix is NOT an authorized JL Audio dealer. This week, my JL Audio clean sweep CL441 died. JL Audio's website indicates these components have a 2 year warranty but since Sonic is not an authorized JL Audio dealer, JL Audio does not honor their own warranty. Although Sonic carries a significant number of JL Audio products, PLEASE pay attention to the fact that only Sonic's warranty will apply, and not JL Audio. I consider this practice deceitful and just want to encourage others to be aware of the conditions regarding warranty service. Over the years, I've spent nearly $1000 with Sonic Electronix but because of this circumstance, I will no longer be a customer. UPDATE: Sonic claims this information is made clear on their website. I completely disagree. If so, it is buried and not prominently listed with the products. In fact, they take the time to let you know the history of JL Audio which implies they are authorized. As for not being responsible for my frustration? That says it all! Any retailer who does not take ownership of customer service frustration, is no retailer I want to do business with! 2nd and final UPDATE: If you are not an authorized dealer for the product, why not go ahead and state that fact? We both know the answer to that question- simply stating this fact would result in loosing sales. But in my opinion, to not do so is deceitful. No where in the product specs are the words "not an authorized seller". As I stated, I've spent nearly $1000 on products from your company. I stand by my decision that I will no longer be making any purchases from Sonic Electronix. Additionally, because of your decision to purposely not disclose your non-authorized seller status, I will continue to do whatever I can, particularly on the internet and in the social media realm, to ensure that no one else experiences the frustration I am dealing with from this issue. The end result to you and I will be far greater than the retail cost of this product. "

"I purchased a Pioneer AVIC-Z130 from Sonic Electronix. Although I find the Z130 a little lacking for the price (less of impact with the discount from SonicElectronix), my experience with SonicElectronix was exceptional. I had no problems as a result of the site or purchasing my item. The site was very competitively priced but so were a lot of other sites. What sold me was the reviews on this site (resellerratings.com)and how they responded to the negative reviews. I was very impressed that they took the time to respond to every negative review on this site and how for every response the buyer subsequently changed their review and rating because of the follow up they did. I find SonicElectronix to be totally committed to their customers and how they are perceived by internet shoppers. I live in Canada and they advertised that whatever the price quoted, would be the price that I would pay. When my package arrived, UPS wanted to charge me an additional $195. I called SonicElectronix and they took care of it because it was supposed to be already covered. UPS was adamant that I had to pay the additional cost. The way SonicElectronix handled the situation impressed me very much.

"I first purchsed an audiovox overhead dvd player for my truck on december 29th and had it shipped next day air so I could have it for a road trip I was taking over the weekend. The shipping was a little pricey ($83) but I was willing to pay the extra money to have the player in time. The player worked well for the first leg of the trip (4 hours), but began to have major internal problems on the way home. It was necessary to return the item but I didnt want to purchase the same model again since the first one lasted all of 4 hours. I was surprised to find that it is up to me to pay to return the item that obviously had a defect, and also pay near full price for the next model I purchased from this company (the salesman knocked of $15 dollars to help cover the cost of returning the defective player), WOW!! Thanks for the big discount! I felt like sonicelectronix should have stepped up and given me a bigger discount to offset the $83 shipping, added expense of the more expensive model that I decided to purchase, plus install of both. Companies just dont care about making people happy anymore. I hope the next unit works well, I dont want to have to pay to return it too."
