"Worst online experience with a purchase ever. Ordered a desk set 12/27/09, to be delivered 12/29/09 (free shipping, very nice). Did not receive on the 29th, called CS, they could not reach the courier to find out where my item was. They called back on 12/30, told me my item would be delivered 12/31. Did not receive it, next day was a holiday, told me it would be delivered 1/4/10, offered a $50 courtesy coupon for my troubles. Cut to 1/4/10 - still did not receive my desk, called CS again, bad snowstorm, blah, blah. Told them I managed to get to and from work in the snowstorm, their driver should have been able to deliver my item(s) since this was the 3rd delivery date I was promised. And BTW, I received my courtesy coupon on the 4th also - for the wrong amount, and made out to someone that I did not know. Finally spoke with a supervisor in CS, promised a morning delivery of 1/5/10, told her I also wanted an additional $50 coupon. She agreed, and also agreed to refund 10% of my order (but it would take 3-10 business days to process, bad marks for that long delay). Finally at approximatly 5 pm on 1/5/10 my desk arrived - 3 boxes total, covered in mud and soaking wet, with two boxes partially ripped open. The desk was fine however, thankfully. As of this writing on 1/6/10, I have not received the two $50 courtesy coupons. May update when/if I finally receive those. CS was very helpful, props to them, but the courier service is the worst."

"This purchase was actually made in 2008. It was for a leather office chair & I paid for the replacement warranty. I began phoning the company in September for the replacement, had to fax the documentation to Assurant Solutions, who handles the insurance. They closed it out without resolution. I called again, had it reopened & was told in November it would be here in two weeks. I just phoned corporate matters & spoke with a supervisor & was assured I would have a cash card emailed to me by end of day, as well as another for my months of trouble.

I will NEVER make another furniture purchase from Staples. One shouldn't have to fight for what was paid for. Granted, the problem seems to be with Assurant but I did business with Staples; whatever the problem with Assurant is, that is between them & Staples.

Fight for what you've paid for, for what you've got coming. When given the run-around, locate the corporate office & contact them, speak with a supervisor & let them know you'll file a BBB complaint for consumer fraud - taking money for their scam insurance plan is fraud!

"Occasionally, I would be billed slightly above what it says on receipt, in many cases because the tax estimate is off. And it doesn't help when I use a virtual credit card (VCC). The credit card company may trust Staples enough to allow them to charge above the limit stated in VCC. Other than that, great items, fast shipping, and no complaints."

"When you are looking for a selection of stationery and office supplies Staples can make it a one stop shopping trip. They also have a decent selection of computer and accessories that can have some pretty decent pricing. I've bought 2 laptops, several printers and a few other computer related items with a good experience rating. I like Staples for the wide selection of product. Pricing is not always the lowest, but actually having stock is important...the best price in the world is not much good if the item isn't available to buy.

"I'm surprised that Staples doesn't get a high rating. There is no Staples in my area, so my experiences with Staples is based on their online store. The best thing about Staples is that they always stand by their price even though it's ridiculously low. I've ordered a few items with insanely prices at Staples, and I got them all. Also, they ship very fast. Staples rocks! "

"I called them to give an order on the phone for a digital camera and made my order. I was said it will be arrived next day but it didn't come. When I checked the order number I saw that they canceled my order without a reason. It was on of the worst shopping experience."

"Staples has earned my trust and loyalty - and my business - through superior Customer Service.

Back in April I bought four Omnitech GPS's from Staples and Quill. Due to what I now know was a firmware error on the part of the manufacturer, all 4 stopped working simultaneously Saturday. Unable to reach the manufacturer, and with a sinking heart. on Monday morning I called the normal Staples 800 number.

I explained my story, and with no hesitation the CSR forwarded me to "Brand Management." Retelling my story to this agent, she noted that they had already received calls from other customers about the same issue. After a very brief time on hold to check with her supervisor, she came back and told me that Staples was going to take responsibility for getting the issue resolved for all four of my Staples / Quill units. She then gave me a case #, a direct 800 to reach them if I needed to, and promised to call me back with 2 days.

OK, it was 3 days before I got the call back, but they were flooded with reports. And when they called back, they said
1. The problem has been fixed
2. To get my unit repaired, just bring it in (beginning Monday) to any Staples store to have the new (correct) firmware loaded

Less than 7 days from problem to fix. I've always liked Staples. Now I love them. Very good pricing. Superior service. Got to love it

"Decent online sales with the occassional deal. Online site has many 'higher-end' components that at the store, and sometime with lower pricing. (Not really a plus in my eyes, but at least returns can be brought back to the B&M locations) Every one in a while the clearance section will have an interesting tidbit that is priced low enough to come home with me.

Recently, it was a deal on 16Gb Class 6 SD cards for a camcorder that caught my attention at $26 a piece. Various coupons that are sent to Rewards members allowed for $25 off $100, so three SD cards and a case of paper for about $100. It was the best deal that I could find at the time on those type of memory cards. Can typically get free shipping, delivery, or pickup at the store (which is handy when I drive by one on the way home from work).

All-in-all, I have ordered from them several times and they have not disappointed me. Thumbs up from me.

"STAPLES refused to honor an online promotion for a custom stamp that included "Free Rush Shipping". Though I have screen grabs of all of the transaction, including the "Free Rush Shipping" information, they later demanded a minimum of $9.95 shipping (not RUSH shipping) or $13.95 (RUSH shipping), or the order would be canceled automatically. This was stated both in an delayed email (5 days after the purchase) and after a 45-minute wait on the phone. The item being purchased was well under the shipping charges, so I have to assume that STAPLES is pulling some kind of a scam, as everything they have said and done seems to have been designed to offer no explanation or apologies for an error. This is a declining company that can ill-afford to alienate customers. STAPLES and Office Depot will get no further business from me. "

"I purchased a HP laptop from Staples with XP media edition and a 3 year maintenance agreement.
The laptop broke down and Staples repaired the it 3 times then decided they couldn’t fix it, “Central Service Depot is their useless repair center they tried to steel my original XP media Cds”, so they sent it into HP for repair. HP replaced the main board and about everything else in the laptop, which was find but now the laptop can only run XP home edition.
I complained everyday for about a month so HP replaced the laptop with a new one with Vista Home edition.
The laptop is fine but Vista Home Edition is a bigger piece of junk than XP home edition was. Now I am stuck with an operating system that was built for people that don’t do anything but internet, what a piece of JUNK”. I will never buy anything from Staples again. !!!!!!!!
