"On 12/02/06 I was looking for a Casio Ex850. I found one with low price on the net. I call Staples and they agreed to match that price. While waiting for the camera, I found another website, which had even lower price on that camera; I called Staples, to my surprise, they again agreed to matched the lower price. All the Customer Service personnels were very nice, helpful and professional. The invoice expected delivery date was 12/12/06; I received the camera brand NIB 12/06//06. Staples, in my opinion, has bent backward to please their customer."

"Went into Staples about 6 pm on Saturday to buy a USB hub that was on sale for $10 (reglular price $20). They were out of stock. They ordered it and shipped it free. Received it on Tuesday morning 11/28/06."

"Staples claims 1 business day delivery, don't believe them. I waited all day for delivery, at 8pm I figured they were not coming. I checked my order online and it said it was not delivered and being rescheduled. No phone call no explanation why, just no delivery. As a small business owner I look for companies to do business with that are reliable, when I find them I give them all my business. Staples is not one of those companies. I tried to cancel the order but they said no, I have to refuse the order when it,if it, shows up. I also ordered 4 items, all were listed as in stock, but only 3 are listed in my order, again no explanation, just not there. I will not use Staples again."

"All i can say about this company is that it is AWESOME. They have the right idea about taking care of their clients. Their rebate system is easy and i never have to worry about not getting a rebate from them.

If there was an award for best retailer, these people would get it.

"Ordered a multifunction printer from Staples on the 9th and expected delivery was the 10th. Staples has a pretty good reputation in my mind, but probably not after today. My printer was expected to be delivered by "Staples Fleet Services" on 10/10/06. I was expected to be available from 9am-5pm so I took the whole day off...except they never arrived. I called 1-800-STAPLE and was given a generic excuse and asked to wait 3 more days. I had asked them to notify me the next time they were to delivery in advance. On 10/13/06, I got a call from staples that the driver would be there from 3-5pm. So I left work early to wait for the delivery. The delivery never arrived AGAIN. I had found out that they delivered to the WRONG address and that now I have to wait till Monday 10/16/06 for delivery again. I have to take more time out of my day to accept another delivery that may never arrive. Lesson Learned: Staples Free Delivery is not FREE, you have to take time out of your day to wait for something that may never arrive. For those of us who work from 9-5pm, we can't afford to take work off to accept a delivery. Next time it's UPS/Fedex or DHL. I don't think I'll order from staples again because they can't even get a package to me even when they make the terms of delivery!

Update:

Staples Got the printer to me and the $25 gift certificate to me in ample time. While I was a little doubtful of Staples ability to deliver a product, but they got it to me in the end. I am very satisfied with this purchase

"Update: The replacements arrived last Tuesday but the defective catridges were just picked up. Took three customer service reps to get my credit but it finally hit my account.
Ordered cartridges for my printer and decided to try the Staples Brand.
Bad mistake. I got two printed pages from a $50.00 combo pack before the print became too light to read. They promise these cartridges provide a page yield of +/- 5% of the national brand. They are wrong.
Customer service rep was very pleasant but now I have to wait 4 days to get a replacement (the national brand that I should have ordered in the first place).
Will update if any thing else develops

"I ordered a Samsung ML-2010 printer and Sage Peachtree Pro Accounting beacuse of the great deal. My order shipped out the next day at midnight by UPS ground. The Samsung printer had a rebate through Staples Easy Rebates which was easy to complete - no need to mail anything in."

"Staples online must be competing for the Worst Customer Service Ever title. More than TWO months ago, I ordered a computer monitor because of a $100 rebate online that Staples offered.

I waited and waited - no rebate. I emailed, they did not have any record. I sent them the confirmation that they'd sent me. I emailed again, to a NON-customer service address.
This must have stimulated someone, because I actually got a phone call.

The missing rebate had appeared all of a sudden on their end. It had been "stuck in the system," they said. I would get in in 15 days and they gave me a tracking number.

15 days later, still no rebate, and the tracking number didn't work. I emailed. No response. I called and suffered through a menu and finally got a rep. The check had been issued 3 days ago, she said. 15 days and I'd get it. She gave me, of all things, a check number.

So, half a dozen emails and two phone calls later I STILL don't know if I'll get the rebate. This is simply bad customer service. This is inexcusable on the part of Staples. I will think twice or more before buying anything from them again where a rebate is involved.

Total waste of my valuable time.

To be fair, I wanted to note that the rebate did arrrive the day after I posted this, and that the person I had spoken to previously on the phone at Staples was helpful. However, it was still a lot for me to have to do to get a rebate I was entitled to to begin with.

"We have ordered before from Staples. We are members of their "Rewards" program. We placed an order on-line for a portable hard drive. We received a confimation # and an expected delivery date. The next day the order was canceled via e-mail because it was "out of stock."

The item ordered was in-stock after the cancellation for $60.00 more (almost a 75% increase.) Two weeks later: no response to inquiry by e-mail, and no response to BBB filing. This seems to be a classic case of "bait-and-switch." Nothing like this happened before, we are not going to order from Staples on-line again.

***5-26 Update. If Staples follows through on the offer they made, via the BBB, then we will be satisfied. Time will tell.

"Bought HP Pavillion DV5020 as a gift for my girfriend. Since I bought it in advance, when we unpacked it and found out it does not boot - it was already past the 14 days during which Staples accepts returns. At the store we had to wait for half an hour (with lots of employees wandering around with nothing to do) before someone found few minutes to tell us that do not care if they sold us broken computer. No returns, no replacements, no nothing.

Will never, ever do any business with Staples.
