"One of my all-time favorite stores! I have Rewards Membership, so that means free shipping on any order. Usually, I receive the item the next day since Staples have its own delivery services. There's $25 off $75 coupons floating around too, so the prices are often unbeatable!

Staples allow items that are bought online to be returned in-store. There were some exceptions. I bought a monitor with a dead pixel, and they wouldn't accept it at the store. Customer Service sent me a prepaid UPS shipping label and I took it to UPS the next day. A week later, I got a refund. Staples is very easy to deal with and also very generous! I hope they don't go bankrupt!

"The Dell XPS M1330 laptop is going on sales at the Chicagoland area from Aug 17. Contacted one of the store to make sure it is in-stock. They told me there are 2 in-stocks but when I arrived, they can't find anything in their storage. I visited another store the other day. Same thing. I contact Staples Customer Service to verify the stores' stock level. CS told me the laptop is still in-stock in the stores. Then I tried to explain what is going on at the stores. And he told me that there is nothing he can do about what the stores have in their systems.

The laptop was put on-sales but never has it in-stock. It is a waste of my time.

DO NOT believe any Sales Ad from Staples. Just like a car dealer, just try to bring you to the store and sell you something else.

"I purchased a shredder machine which had a $20 rebate. Completed rebare on line and rec'd payment within 4 weeks. They have consistently provided excellant service on geting their rebates out timely. Will definitely shop with them again. I've purchased 3 items over the last 3 months from them all with rebates and all rec'd timely."

"One of my favorite Brick & Mortar stores. Great customer service. Fast shipments. Super easy rebates. Great returns, they come pick it up!

"Staples usually has great deals on hard drives. I missed quite a few during the year and they ran out of Maxtor 500GB on Thanksgiving at the local store as well, even though I waited in line :(. I checked online and they were still showing stock. Their website however couldnt cope with the load and the order wasnt going through. After multiple attempts and an hour later I ordered and it arrived with free shipping in about 10 days. The thing I like most about Staples is that their rebate process is hassle free and completely reliable. I hope they fix their website issues in future for those high traffic days."

"Ordered a 2GB Sandisk SD memory card from Staples.com at a Black Friday sale price of $17.
They sent me the wrong card (a compact flash card). The packing slip correctly indicated what I ordered.

I emailed customer support and they stated they would send out the correct product to me AT NO CHARGE.

They then charged my credit card the non-sale price of $34 and stated they wouldn't refund it until they received the original product back.

The main problem isn't making a wrong shipment. It's the flat out lying done by someone who said they'd correct their mistake AT NO CHARGE then turn around and charge the card. My card was charged before I received the replacement product.

"I bought a router online from staples, and it was shipped for free the same day. I got it on 26 Nov, and which is understandable cause the Thanksgiving and weekends. Router came in very good condition in a well packed box. But I got the wrong one that my husband asked me to buy. So I had to take it back to local store. No problem with return, I just simply brought the router and the receipt I printed online. They credited my money back to my card in two minutes. I like buying stuff from this store both in store and online. You always can return your stuff easily without any restocking fee.
Update:
26th Nov, I ordered a printer from them again. It was shipped the same day, and free shipping. It said it would be delivered on 27th. But I didn't get it on 27thC and on their website it said it was dilivered. So I called their customer service next day, a very nice lady answered my call, and checked that out the delay was because the problem of the shipping truck. She appologized that, and asked me if I want to cancel the order or she would send me a $15 coupon. Well, i chosed the second one. 29th, I got my package in the morning. Everything went well. I am very satisfied with their service so far.

Update:
I do like this store. Here is something new from them: in Feb, the Netgear router I bought from Staples half year ago was broken. I still had my receipt. Ususally, the store will let you to contact the manufacture for that long time. But as the good expeience I had with Staples before, I took it back to my local store, and told them what my problem was. They nicely and simply let my pick out another brand new one, and return the broken one, refund my money in 5 minutes. NO problem at all! I am amazed how good their service was. Half a year, they still let me return the router without any problem. Good service keeps me buying stuff from them. I like Staples!

"I purchased an LCD monitor through Staples.com. The expected ship time was 3-5 business days, but it was sent within 36 hours of the time the order was placed. The item arrived within 2 business days, however, I had to return it. I called the customer service line and was connected immediately to a friendly, English-speaking representative who said I could return the monitor to any Staples retail store. I did and received a full refund without any hassle. The whole experience has convinced me to do all my office-supply shopping at Staples from now on."

"The USB drive I ordered, which was in stock, took two weeks to arrive. That is very unacceptable. It also arrived in a plastic bag mailer, with no packing materials to protect it during shipment. Also, the customer service representative promised to manually apply my Staples gift certificate to the order, as the website was having difficulties in accepting gift certificate codes. After the item finally arrived, Staples refused to apply the gift certificate. After doing a run-around through customer service representatives and faxing a copy of the certificate in, Staples still refused to honor their gift certificate. I ended up sending the item back, which resulted in my credit card being charged a second time before all charges were finally refunded. The Staples website seems to be full of glitches, and their customer service will not effectively remedy the problem when a glitch occurs. I will not order from them again, and cannot recommend them!

"I went to their store in town and they had a style of desk I liked, but it was too big. They told me they carry a smaller version of it online, so I come home and get on their website and start browsing.

I found a desk that I like the looks of, the Bush Tuxedo L-Desk, and it's on sale. So I go ahead and call them up because I have a credit card and a debit card I wanted to use. The lady on the phone told me that I can't use those two forms over the phone and that I'll have to go to the store. Well, the store is close enough to my house that's no big deal, so I head there and order my desk.

Today (9/6/2007) the order arrives. I'm thinking that's nice, prompt shipment. Well, I look on the outside of the box and I can tell right away that it's the wrong thing. It's box 2 of 2 for the desk I saw in the store that was too big. Apparently box 1 of 2 didn't come with it. I call them up, and the lady was very helpful in re-ordering it, but I can't get the desk until at least 9/10/2007 now. That's a major disappointment, as I have this weekend off from work and I was looking forward to getting the desk set up and getting all my junk moved out of my old desk.

For the mistake the lady offered me a $25 coupon to be used in their store. I asked her if I could get it taken off of this purchase, and she said that I couldn't. I'm considering calling back up and cancelling my order and shopping somewhere that has a desk available for me to take home today.
