"The price was good of course. But I was bothered by the fact that I am a student and a lot of the discounted pricing said that I wasn’t eligible because I wasn’t in the proper age range which made me not click on those because I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get that price anyways. So I settled for slightly higher price tickets and then after I booked them I was disappointed to know that I booked basic economy American Airlines in which if I would’ve known it was gonna be basic Economy I would’ve picked a more expensive flight because Some of the more expensive flights include baggage and now I had to pay for my seating in my baggage which in the end I ended up paying the same amount for a more expensive ticket."

When you select a restricted ticket, you will see a pop-up showing you all the limitations such as seat selection not available, and the pop-up also provides an option for upgrade. If you do not pick upgrade, it means you continue to book such ticket. At the check out page, you can find the baggage policy as well. If you google the baggage policy of the airline you fly with, you will very likely need to pay for 1st checked bag unless you choose premium economy or classes above, which prices could be more than double of basic econ. As for age limitation for certain types of fares, unfortunately it is the airline that determines the rules; if you are not eligible, you wouldn't be able to add that fare to cart. In other words, as long as you can purchase the ticket, you are all set.
