"Surprise surprise another company in America ran by Indians who barely speak english. I ordered my book on 5Aug11 and on 25Aug11 still no book. I received a tracking number on 9Aug and it does not exist in the USPS system. I have come to the conclusion that my package was shipped horse and buggy or shall I say camel and cart. I have filed a claim with Amazon and waiting for refund. I will NEVER purchase from this company again and I wish I would've discovered this site before making my purchase."

"I'm very disappointed by that bookstore. I ordered a book that was significatnly cheaper then anywhere else. It's amazon price was around $40 (including shipping) and this bookstore sell it for $15 (including shipping). It also said that it will be brand new. However, they have processed it as another book by the same author and shipped me different book which was used. The one they sent me I could get brand new one on amazon for $10 (including shipping). When I sent them complaint they only referred me to a final invoice where they processed wrong book, and disregarded my claim that what they sent me is not what I bought. Such imposture is a very low thing to do, and I'm sure I will not buy from them again."

"I've made an order on 13/1. As I haven't receive any email of shipping yet yesterday, I checked the order status using the internet order no via its website. Surprisingly, the website said there was no such an order. I sent an email to SBD and received an reply 24 hrs later:

"Thank you for your recent order. We certainly appreciate your interest in our merchandise. Unfortunately, we have had an exceptionally high rate of credit card fraud and have been forced to implement additional security measures. The credit card service companies we work with have suggested the following measures to reduce the amount of fraud. We realize this is an inconvenience and regret that it is a necessary element of our order process.

* Legible copies of the back and front of the credit card that was used for this order
* A statement authorizing Superbookdeals to charge said card with the cardholder's signature

Please reference you order number and fax the above documents to 1-***-***-****. If we do not receive a response to this request within one week, the order will be deleted from our system and will not be able to be recovered. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail or phone."

Although this policy sounds crazy to me as I've never encountered in other online bookstores (Amazon, B&N, Alibris), it is still fine if it send an email at once after my order. However, it is totally unacceptable as it only informs when I tracked my order!

I'll NEVER buy anything from SBD!

"I ordered two textbooks from them that I needed right away for a course. 3 weeks and 3 inquiries later I still do not have the books!!!! they just send the same automated message that the book was sent by USPS and it's not tracebale. Obviously they are not a very good bookstore to deal with and i should have made research on them before ordering from them!!!!!arrrrghhh!

"Well, I too have had bad results with this company. I needed a textbook on January 3rd, I ordered the book December 23rd, it said it was shipped on December 24th and I'm still waiting for this book. I've had 2 classes since then and need the book to get my assignments done.

Interesting I looked for a phone number to call and did not find one. I've sent numerous emails regarding my shipment and get the same "canned" reply.

I'll never order from this company again. Not worth it at all

" Very Very Very slow shipping or rather Processing time (see below). On Sunday December 19 2010 I ordered 2 books From the B&N website. One book was processed through B&N and the other (Used) was through SuperBookDeals. The shipping methods were pretty much identical. I received the B&N book on Friday December 24th through USPS. I finally received the book From SuperBookDeals on Friday January 7th through USPS. The strange thing is that SBD does not give you any tracking information but you can look up the info from the received package label at USPS and DHL in my case. I found that the SBD package had 2 labels one from DHL and the other USPS. Both websites listed out my package shipping info showing the same thing. The package was received at the shipping center for DHL at Rutherford, NJ on January 3rd 2011. It would seem that SBD has a huge processing time not shipping time. During this very long processing time I did enquire about the status of my package. I did get the digital forum letter response about the shipping delays. Isn’t it nice to blame your lack of processing efficiency on the US postal service? If you look at the actual shipping time it was only 5 business days. If you add the 10 day processing time it works out to 15 business days."

"DO NOT USE THESE GUYS, THEY DO NOT DELIVER.
It's almost been a month since I ordered a book from these guys which i needed weeks ago. Supposedly my order was to arrive between 3-10 working days?? I wish I had googled these guys before I used their service. Anyone who just scrapes in 1 star is useless.

"I ordered an uncommon textbook through this site and it was supposedly 'shipped' right away (to Canada). It said it would come in "6-8" weeks. By the end of November, I didn't have it. Their site has a list of possibly common complaints they recieve - "Where's my order?" is high on the list. Turns out they didn't even HAVE my book to "ship". They email me to tell me that I will receive a refund in 1-3 days. It's been 1-3; where is my refund?!"

"Ordered book through Amazon Marketplace where they are doing business as "SBD".
They indicated book was available. Temporary credit card charge was activated with my bank.

Four days later I received notice that my order had been canceled - abruptly!
No explanation, no apology.

Temporary charge was dropped by my bank four days later, as it should have been.

My e-mail to SBD via Amazon was answered days later with a vague explanation as to the reason. I doubt if their rep. researched the case.

So far, wasted time. Also, a temporary charge appearing on my account which theoretically could have reduced my credit line - not an issue in this case only because of the amount involved.

Started looking for same book elsewhere on line.

Located book at lower price and placed order with a merchant going by the name "Super Book Deals", not knowing they were the same company as "SBD" on Amazon Marketplace. Had I known, I would have not given them the business.

No further shipping notice received, no tracking available.

Eventually book arrived, in good condition, but after a longer than expected transit time.

Conclusion:
Sloppy handling, unnecessary inconvenience. They did have the book from the start.

"STAY AWAY. I know that most people read reviews and either run the other way, OR (like me) go "Well I run a business, and there have been times when I messed up - maybe these were isolated experiences?". The answer is a resounding "NO".

I ordered something through SBD on Amazon Marketplaces. Strangely enough it was a computer related component, but I have found that names on amazon mean very little nowadays, as companies start by selling books and then branch out.

Two days later (the maximum time allowed for SHIPPING an item out) I receive my confirmation for this order. No, not the shipping confirmation, but an email stating that orders are shipped "expeditiously" and that my copy of "How to draw Horses and Ponies" would be on it's way shortly. Now, I am no genius, but I am pretty sure that "How to draw Horses and Ponies" is not going to be very useful in building my computer. Unless I was going to draw a big Shetland on the side of the case (which I am not by the way.)

Three VERY prompt emails from me later, and several days, and I have yet to receive any acknowledgment from SBD that they have even made a mistake. I must have replied to the confirmation email within 30 seconds, including a screenshot of my order page on amazon - NO REPLY.

We will see how this ordeal turns out, but reading other reviews I am not at all hopeful. So far:

Terrible. They have no internal communication, and apparently from the shipping department to the customer support they can't find a shipment to save their life.

Will NEVER use them again, and highly suggest you don't either.

"Horrible customer service. It took a little more than two weeks to get the book and I returned it right away because I didn't need it anymore. A month has passed and I can't get any information about where my book is!!! I emailed them and their email didn't help at all!!! So frustrating!! "
