"Shipping was extremely slow. Item arrived as promised in condition promised. I would probably not order from this store again because of the slow shipping. Item supposedly came from city 150 miles away. In the 18 days it took to get to me I could have walked there and picked it up myself faster."
"I am AMAZED that this company has even 1 positive rating, as I have NEVER had a worse experience. Ordered a book on January 15th, and as of January 30th have not received notice of order or shipping. They DID however charge my Credit Card in a timely fashion!
I have emailed 3 times, to find out if the item has shipped, and they have ignored me exactly 3 times. Their site states they are located in South Bend IN, less than 200 miles from me. I could have walked there quicker, and don't even know if I will ever receive this item.
Their site also states they ship within 2-4 days, yet it's been 15 with no update. I wish I had read their reviews, as this is one of Amazons WORST!!
BUYER BEWARE!!"
"Placed order and they charged my credit card. However they cancelled the order without any notification or refund thus far. Shady and will never do business with them again!"
"Beware of Super Book Deals. Although they may advertise a low price, after taking your order they will refuse to honor it by making up some story about why then cannot accept your credit card, at least until the price goes up, or perhaps they get you to jump through some other hoops! Not a good company to do business with. After all, a low prices is not worth anything if they never deliver the product."
"I don't think I have had any worse e-purchase experience. I ordered the Complete Calvin and Hobbes intending it to be a Christmas gift. The order went through, and I got a confirmation email with a link for tracking the shipping. A week later, I clicked on the link to check the status, and in bold red type across the page it showed the order cancelled. They made no attempt to contact me to let me know they wouldn't ship me the item. I say wouldn't, not couldn't because the item is still listed on their site, but at a higher price. I even followed the checkout proceedure to be sure that it actually was going to allow a customer to purchase the item. I emailed the company complaining about the treatment (not primarily that I couldn't have the item, but the disregard for a customer in not letting me know in some way). They seemed unconcerned that I was counting on the gift, and that it was only luck that I logged in to check the status earlier than I expected to receive it. Had I waited, I might not have been able to get it in time for the holiday. This is their email response, and it really doesn't address their failure to provide the goods they "offer".
*Regrettably, we were unable to ship your item. We make every effort possible to ensure all items we list are readily available and are successful with virtually all of our orders. We are dedicated to providing excellent customer service and will work diligently to ensure it is prevented in the future. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We greatly value your continued business and encourage you to contact us with any concerns.*
How are they going to "prevent" this in the future when they are simply refusing to process the order? I asked them to take me off their mailing list, with a reference to bait and switch. I thought it was appropriate. If they had just listed it for what they were willing to sell it for, I would have just ordered at a higher price (somewhere), and not also gotten hosed on rushed shipping to ensure the gift arrives for the Holiday."
"It took almost a month to get my books and when I received them they were so warped and twisted I could barely even read the titles. The box was flimsy and had a hole in it. It looked like someone had allowed an elephant to walk all over it. I hate returning things and I am going to have to pay for the shipping to do so. Why should I have to be inconvenienced for your poor packing materials and shipping? So much for using the internet to save time and money! I WILL NOT BE USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN!"
"Same story - I order through Amazon thinking that there would be no risk using them. Wow - did I learn a lesson about these people as well as Amazon.
The listing said 2 days to process and 5 days to ship. The next day I received an email from supperbookdeals via amazon stating that delivery would be 21 business days which is about a month. Supperbookdeals will no respond and Amazon (India) says this it is not their responsibility - they are only responsible to ensure that my money gets to them. LOL - couldn't believe, in fact I don't believe, the amazon Indian rep understood what she was saying. So beware of both companies - I know I'm done with Amazon and certainly this crap store call superbookdeals!"
"I placed an order for one book a week before classes thinking I would get a head start, but 3 weeks later I have just received the book. This store is HORRIBLE. Do NOT buy from these people. If you read the reviews, you can see that they DO NOT respond to messages through their Amazon merchant account. I sent 4 emails through Amazon over a period of 1 week and NO responses. I don't even think they bother to check! After that, I was so angry I sent an angry email to their online web store email as well as Amazon themselves complaining about this company. FINALLY I received a reply from them stating the generic "wait until the end of the shipping period". Well the book finally arrived 1 day before the final shipping date, and 3 weeks into classes I finally have the book. I HATE this company with a passion. Their Amazon reviews are about an 80%, which is unbelieveable with the service I received. I guess they make it in the market by putting in 8/10 orders and then screwing over the 2/10 orders and hoping they just 'go away'. Pathetic. If I had not received my book, they would have had Hell to pay. They are infuriating and unprofessional, SAVE YOURSELF the headache and do NOT buy from these people. SUPERBOOKDEALS is, in my book, FRAUD and scam artists. I would have rather paid another site 50$ more for a book and had much better service. "
"I bought a book via Amazon Marketplace. I never received the book. I called SuperBookDeals, and had to speak with a very rude woman. Eventually, she told me that the inventory was empty. I asked her why they could not do me the favor of letting me know in advance. The woman then yelled at me, and when I asked to see the supervisor, she hung up. I am still waiting on a refund. I received an email promising a refund but I am still out a bunch money. Do not buy from this seller!"
"Offered good prices to attract customers, but delivery is taking an extremely long time.
It is 24 days after my purchase, and the book I ordered has not arrived. Made complaints to SuperBookDeals, but the seller kept assuring me that the book should have arrived within 10 - 15 days.
I requested for a refund, and has been refused.
Possible fraud seller, be warned and please do not buy from them! "
"I ordered 2 books from this company dec. the 11´th 2007. I never recieved the books or emails about them until I contacted them myself late january. I only recieved an autoreply that the books takes about 20 days to get there, but it was already over 25 business days and still no books. I have written them and Amazon several emails now telling them that I want a refund and still nothing has happened. Now it´s th 18´th feb. 2008 and I still havent recieved my books or heard anything from the company. This is definitely fraud and I´m thinking of contacting the police about this. It seems Amazon wont even do something about this eventhough the books were bought through Amazon.co.uk.

"The price and guaranteed receive-by window (up to 14 days from actual ship out date) seemed reasonable. From initial purchase date it took 4 days to ship, and an additional 18 days (22 days from purchase) to receive the book. When I received the book, the back binding was bent due to packaging (the product was purchased new and unused) and last 80 pages were bent too as a result. When I contacted customer help approximately 16 days after purchase, they said they had no information on the location of the package and to 'let [them] know if [I] needed further assistance.' I will not be using this retailer in the future."
"I pretty much got scammed. I searched for a book under the heading "books." They listed an item with that title and it appeared in the crumb trail as Home>Books. The listing said "brand new- never been read." What they shipped me was a 2 page outline. It had never been read because it was worthless. They said I should have looked closer to the picture. I didn't know you could get 3-D perspectives from a 1" 2-D thumbnail. This seller may sell other items fairly but the listing I responded to is nothing short of a scam and a play on a very successful book."
"43 days after the order, never got the book, which I ordered on 6/19, I contacted them on 6/29 they replied that it would take 4-14 business days and the shipping is not tracable, asked them on 7/17 to cancel my order, they replied that they can't cancel it since they are not able to recall it from the shipper, today 8/1 still no book and my tracking page on their site shows qty. returned 1, no credit on my card.
buyer beware!"
"Ordered a book "in stock", did not ship for 7 days. Book was not arriving, so I kept writing them. They said, "check online for status and tracking info", but of course, they ship media mail, which cannot be tracked. There was a bogus tracking number on their web page and they told me they ship "cost cutter". Well, when I told them there's no such thing as cost cutter, they said, "we ship media mail". Well, it took 14 days to arrive from the time they CLAIM they shipped it. I buy and sell books online all the time and they are shipped media mail, it has NEVER taken more than 5 days, and that was from Alaska. This book came from Indiana to Minnesota. USPS is not that incompetent, only this company is. A person should not have to wait almost an entire month to receive a book that is in stock. Stay away from them! Their customer service is horrible, too."
