"I had them for 5 years and I used to think they were amazing but I WAS WRONG!So I went to one of their stores not too long ago to find out about getting a new phone. I asked the store sales person if I was eligible for an upgrade and when she pulled up my account she told me that in the system it showed that I was NOT UNDER CONTRACT. I asked how this could be if I had just got a new phone last year. She said the person who did the upgrade had done it incorrectly because there was NO CURRENT CONTRACT! Having this information I decided to change cell phone companies because I wanted the iPhone. Then when I called T-Mobile to cancel I was told that I would be charged $200 per line ($400 total) to cancel the service because of the "contract" that suddenly appeared in their system. I don't know what game this person was trying to play with me. All I know is that when I went to find out about getting a new phone from them I was informed by a T-mobile representative that in the system I was not under any contract but then when I go to cancel all of a sudden a contract appears and I have to pay!!!! WTF!!! It's total BULLSH*T! They are thieves!! They say they are all about customer service but it's crap. I was with them for 5 years and always had nothing but good things to say even though my plan was expensive and my 4G phone never had good service but like a loyal customer I recommended them to everyone and this is what I got in return, a $400 dollar bill because their magical system created a contract for me even though a month ago I was assured by their representatives that I was UNDER ABSOLUTELY NO CONTRACT!!! And on top of that you can't even cancel as of the day you call to cancel. They get to charge you the rest of your billing cycle!!!"

"T-mobile is the worst cellular service ever. I was having trouble getting service in different places in my area which were supposedly in their 3G coverage area. I called customer service over and over again for about a year until they finally admitted they coudn't do any thing to help me. I asked about getting out of my contract since I wasn't getting service. T-mobiles cancelation department informed me that they didn't have to provide service as per my service contract. In order to get a cellular phone service that actually provided service I was required to pay $600 first to fulfill my contract with T-mobile even though it wasn't required for them to fulfill theirs. Please note I have been a loyal customer of T-Mobile for 12 long years and instead of giving some credit on my claims they chose to alienate me. Please think twice before signing a deal with this devil."

You have to admit customer service is not what it used to be. We rent a place to stay for 2 months not too far from beach. There was no service for both me and my fiance. I contacted the customer service in order to solve this issue and they say you have to have a full antenna. We can't do anything. They say you can disconnect from our service for a fee, or put your account on hold. I'm working at NYC for 5 days and need my phone. So now I have to by prepaid cards in order to stay connected.
T-mobile. Take care of your customer service, and rudest people in the world who work there, even managers have an attitude like I don't care. Wish I never have to deal with them.

"I only stayed with t-mobile for all of these years because of their great family plan prices, but T-mobile's overage charges are just awful. Customer service has no sympathy towards exceptional cases and won't even offer a courtesy waiver for the first overage in 10 years of using their service because its obvious this is how they like to make their money. And now that At&t is taking over, our plans will be gone anyways. So much for sticking with this company thats provided me with sh*t phones, bad reception everywhere including in my own home, and even tricked me out of my money countless times for all these years. I rarely ever dislike anyone and hate to wish anyone bad, but I have to say that honestly, I hope all their customer service people lose their jobs when at&t takes over. Don't get t-mobile. they've gotten worse and worse over the years. while everyone moves forward they keep moving backwards. I should've left them a long time ago."

"T-mobile had a great deal on Comet Android smart phones for prepaid customers. I bought 2 and after weeks of waiting, and numerous phone calls, it turns out they lost my order, and said the phones were no longer available. I could still see them for sale online, but they said that those were only for contract plans. I asked if there was any difference between the prepaid and contract Comet phones? No but the system wouldn't allow them to give me one as a prepaid customer (brilliant system). Then they tried to upsell me to a contract plan. I spent hours on the phone, suffered through multiple "accidental" hang ups, though I never acted rude or angry, they just didn't no how to solve my problem and we would mysteriously get disconnected, so I would have to restart my story with the next rep.
I'll skip all the details you don't care to read, but after weeks of hassle and forking over another $30 due to broken promises that I had no proof of, I finally got my phones and am reasonably pleased with the service, but the minute I find another GSM provider with a similiar deal for very low usage prepaid plans I'm switching.
Most of the people I talked to were pleasant enough and spoke english well, but they just don't give the CSRs any power to resolve your issues or they just don't care enough about low profit prepaid customers to give them any service.
I definately would not recommend buying your phone directly from T-mobile online, they really don't have their act together as a distributor.
Whatever you do don't give them your SSN or let them run your credit. I don't care what they promise you. They will say whatever it takes to close the deal and then you will get bills that you shouldn't get for service you never received and if you don't pay them they will ruin your credit.

"These are CROOKS!!! BEWARE!!!

T-mobile has recently been in cooperation with 3rd party SCAM companies like SarchMummy.com which charge your account sometimes several times a month for non exisating and never asked for "premium services". If you do nat catch this right away and fight their CS to remove them then there's no hope.
...And by the way - their customer support is not even worth mentioning - they put you unaware into contract extensions and straight lie to you later!!!

"I purchased a phone for my daughter and added her to my account, wow what a screw up that was. This company had the audacity to try to charge me 2 months for 1 month and 1 week of service... I have been given 3 different stories as to why this happend as of today. The funniest being, I am sorry, we just don't have a way to pro rate. what a joke!!
I am planning to $179.99, I am being ripped of for $186.00. They say that is the difference in my new plan rate!! Who in the hell is this company trying to kid??? DO NOT go with T-Mobile if you are looking for mobile phone service. What used to be a fantastic company is crap now!!

"Bought a Nokia phone for T-mobile prepaid to go plan. T-mobile has one of the best prepaid plans where if you put at least $100 refills into your account, you achieve a "gold reward" status, where your minutes do not expire for a year and the cost is 10 cents per minute. However, getting the status updated to "gold" is a pain - the online refill system is bugged (on purpose?) so you need to call the CSR. You can reach customer service relatively quickly, but many CSRs are brain dead - they just repeat what their "manual" says. It took me 6 total calls ( 3 of which were hang on) before the expiration date and the total number of minutes were finally adjusted with the help of 3(!) managers. If you get shot down by first manager ("everything is correct"), call again because apparently different managers have different policies."

"I was promised a one year contract instead of a 2 year contact if I was willing to pay $50 more for the phone. At the last minute T-Mobile pulled a bait&switch and I had to sign a 2 year contract. After using the phone for the 2 week trial period, I decided to return the phone. It took 4 MONTHS to get the refund check. The store said that corporate was supposed to send the check, and corporate said the store was supposed to make the refund. T-Mobile turned out to be the biggest "Pass the Buck", "Bait and Switch","Sales people work for commision, so dont expect real service if you dont make a purchase", "fly by night" operation that I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Buyer Beware."

"T Mobile is the best service provider out there!! They are wonderful in ever aspect. Coverage is incredible, phone's are solid (no need for the iphone), and there customer service is AMAZING!! Never dealt with any kind of signal issue at all. Always at least 3 bars which is plenty of signal strength. I honestly don't think I have ever had a drop call... EVER!!! Phones are very reliable.. New phones always come with a 12 month warranty .. but get insurance... pretty much covers everything the warranty doesn't (Physical damage, water damage, etc) . Even if there is a deductible it's way better then going out and buying another phone full retail price.... and always the biggest thing.... CUSTOMER SERVICE!! T-mobile seems like they really strive for this. Every single time I have called in (good and bad), they treat me with such respect and theres always just a good warm feeling whenever I call. There representatives are very knowledgeable in almost every aspect. One time my bill was high, had texting messaging overages but I called that month to upgrade my text message plan to go unlimited. It was changed but not backdated... but they totally took care of my problems really quick, felt the empathy and everything.. I think I learned the trick... NEVER EVER CALL WITH A BAD ATTITUDE!!! For some this may be hard, but I learned that being respectable will get you so much farther then yelling at the rep. Even if it was t-mobile fault, as long as you let them know in a calm fashion, they will be more then willing to help you at. And think about they receive hundreds of calls all day..... I know it's there job but what if you we're in there position.- I would rather help out customers who treated me with respect. It's always a give and take... Overall T-mobile is incredible.. T Mobile customer for life..
