"I picked out a number of items from their amazingly broad catalog. Very satisfied with the shopping experience. But Fed Ex dropped and badly damaged one item. With glass everywhere I had to hire a pro team to pack and ship the item back. Webstaurant's customer service team snapped in to action, sent me paid Fed Ex labels, arranged for the pickup, and even compensated me for the packing expense. Wow! I can highly recommend doing business with them."

"I wanted to change the size and style of what I ordered, but the restocking fee of 30% is pretty discouraging. I think it's part of any web store to accept that customer might change their mind once they actually see what they bought. They told me yada yada to keep cost low, but I doubt the process of restocking cost them more than 100$. It should be around the same price as the shippement handling....it's kind of the same task, but the other way around, no?

When you buy from a company that has no restocking fees, you pay for returns that the company handles, indirectly, through higher prices. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order, as well as returning an order. The 15% restocking fee from the manufacturer is assessed directly to WebstaurantStore and does not include any costs associated with our customer service or processes required to set up the return. Most companies do build it into their initial pricing, but we try to charge it only when it is needed.

Because we are a commercial wholesaler, in general the equipment is not designed for residential use and even if it is only the initial delivery location, we would not be able to ship it to a residential location. "Webstaurantstore.com does have great prices and a wonderful selection of items; however, I signed up for the Plus program in order to get free shipping. Upon checkout, not all of my items qualified for free shipping and I had to pay $8.55 for ground shipping of a certain item. Maybe I missed some fine print somewhere. I am glad, though, that the first month is free!"
