"We've done business with Webstaurant quite a bit in the past. They've increasingly adopted the attitude, "The Customer is ALWAYS wrong." We purchased mints several times from them that we've used for many years from other suppliers. The last shipment included a case of product that was almost expired and had already turned bad by the time we received. Webstaurant blamed us for storing it incorrectly, and also said the manufacturer was not accurate for telling purchasers that the mints have a 5-month shelf life. I have learned that Webstaurants good prices come at a cost, and in the long run you might shoot yourself in the foot by cutting ties with long-standing suppliers who might charge a little more, but will always take care of you. I don't need a snot-nosed, know-it-all Webstaurant Internet customer service rep arguing and making up stories to try to make us look we are wrong for pointing out Webstaurant's poor business practices."
"Purchased an $189 Excaliber dehydrator from them which was too large for my home. They want to charge me 30% restocking fee PLUS $23 return shipping. It's $70 to return. They claim that a restocking fee keeps their cost down yet the return is going back to the manufacturer who only charges a 15% restocking fee.
LESSON LEARNED; PURCHASE ITEMS ELSEWHERE. THEY ARE MAKING A PROFIT ON RETURNS AS WELL AS SALES."

Ask you to upload tax exempt form, but they keep saying no files received.
After 3 times, i gave up ordering paying tax on resale items.
No explanation, no sorry, just want you to reload the file again and again and email it again and again, somehow they never receive the 3 uploads and 3 email, in the span of 3 weeks.
Stupid company, they don't care about the customer, they only care how to save money by not having a phone number."

"If you want to work with a company who cares about your repeat business, then stay away from webstaurantstore.com. I am now a previous customer after my first purchase three days ago. The same item was heavily discounted for cyber Monday so I inquired about the discount (I haven’t received the item yet), and was told it is not possible. Furthermore, if I purchase the item again and then return the previous purchase, it’s subject to shipping and a $30 restocking fee. Restocking fee for an item not even opened?? Horrible customer experience."

When you buy from a company that has no restocking fees, you pay for returns that the company handles, indirectly, through higher prices. There are a lot of costs associated with processing an order, as well as returning an order. The 15% restocking fee from the manufacturer is assessed directly to WebstaurantStore and does not include any costs associated with our customer service or processes required to set up the return.
