"I was quite pleased with the quality and savings of my recent order. I always enjoy receiving my clothes as they were so well priced."
"In general, I like that there are more discount codes than there have been in the last year. However, in the revamping of your website, a $.99 fee per item returned is steep. You're paying pennies on the dollar for these items that people send you - many are used even if they are expensive brands you are a second-hand retailer. You've long been chastised by customers for paying out very little on big ticket items and turn-around reselling them for much much more than you bought them off of people for. However, to now begin that practice on your buyers too by extorting more money from them on the buying end when you've already marked the items much higher than what you paid (much more than overhead costs would suggest too, unless you're paying into things like storefronts and trying to use your capital from online sales to help.) Online stores are vastly beating brick and mortar. So as cool as a store-front idea was - your true money is in the online second-hand selling. Don't alienate your customers by jacking up the prices for items further away for them (shipping costs are NOT more expensive lol. That's a ridiculous sentiment on your site. If I ship something to California from Florida - it's the same cost. I do, however, understand shipping multiple items from different places, but again, you rising the costs for things further away and charging a return fee...guys. You can do better). Find a smarter way to do business instead of continually fluctuating prices, alienating both buyers and sellers with low sell-outs and higher prices on second-hand items, and a return fee. You're a better business than this and I've trusted in you for years. I won't be going anywhere, but I do think much harder about buying items and have bought considerably less than I used to due to the increasing feeling of - they are nickel and diming and over-pricing things. "
"I can always find something to buy! Great designer and popular store brands that are gently used or even new with tags... prices are unbelievable! I just receive a pair of slacks, Travelers by Chico's, originally $68, new with tags for $10.99!!! Love, love, LOVE!"
"I’ve been using thredup for over 3 years and now I’m done. It’s $2 per item to return as a restocking fee. That isn’t free returns. The issue with buying used is people take care of their clothing differently so it’s hard to know what the fit will be. Payouts on items are low but it is easier than selling on my own. "
"I'm concerned about a Clean Out Bag that's been pending for a long time. I followed the tracking on the bag, and saw that it was received by ThredUP on 7/3/18 (about 4 weeks after mailing) and the processing would be completed by 7/20/18. That date came and went with no word, so I sent in an inquiry via the ThredUP app and got a confirmation that my message was received. As of today, I haven't received an answer to my inquiry and there's no change on my account or updates in my email. After reading so many reviews in various places, I'm beginning to think I've been ripped off. I would accept a written explanation, but there's nothing.
UPDATE 7/25/18: Customer service finally responded that there was a regrettable delay because of a deluge of bags coming in. OK, I'm happy to have received some correspondence--so I moved them up a star. A day later, I received the summary for the bag. They took 47%, or 8, of my items (average is 40%--so that's good, right)? Haha. My upfront payout is $1.70 and my potential consignment earnings are $16.17 *IF* they sell my items for the listed total of $150.92. The rest of my items will be "upcycled." I think I had a false sense of what my items were worth to ThredUP because they were originally expensive and sent in excellent condition. In the future, I will read the fine print more closely for any business I deal with (especially when it comes to consignment percentages). The keyword is "business," which means "company that does stuff to make money."
On a positive note, they have very nice clothing for sale, including mine! "
"Stay away!!! Horrible experience. My first bag of designer clothes was conveniently lost after they sent me notification that they had received it. Unfortunately, I had already sent in a second bag before I heard this. They gave me WHAT THEY THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID $20.00, that's right. The bag was full of designer clothes many still with tags. One of the items In the bag was a new with tags $230.00 dress! I hear that they have their own stores so beware. The second bag contained much of the same. The second bag was processed and guess what, you get .20 cents, .70 cents for designer clothing that they sell for $20.00 and $30.00 dollars yes, you read that right .20 cents!! Stay away this is a big rip off !! Give your cloths to a charity don't send them to Thred UP!!!! "
"I sent a bag a couple of months ago with basically brand new stuff in it with tags. I got a credit of $1.50. This is ridiculous. I also agree with some of the other complaints on this site that the descriptions are skimpy, and barely contain any information about the product. I am a collector and a reseller myself on several well known websites so I know what I am talking about. It is such a rip off...…..they take your clothes for free and give you nothing. I will never buy anything from these people. Donate, at least you can write it off on your taxes."

"I sent a bag full of new like clothing and waited over three weeks for my items to be processed. I received an email today advising me that my payout will be $6.95!
The bag included like new jeans, Polo shirts, Tony Hawk shirts and even a new/with tags Lacoste shirt that retails for $65 (the consignment payout will be $4.95 for that top). I'm incredibly disappointed and feel completely scammed. I will NEVER use ThredUP again and will tell all my friends to stay away! "

"I ordered a GoodyBox; it arrived as expected. I chose the vacation box, and specified that I was looking for beach-appropriate things; nearly all the items were black. Anyhow, it was still a fun experience at this point. I returned the box within 7 days (6/18), using the provided return slip. On July 1, I noticed over $600 had been taken out of my bank account- they had not yet received the box and charged me for all items. I emailed customer service 7/2 (and never heard back).
In looking at the tracking through FedEx, my package shipped out the date I dropped it off. Today is July 11, and I still have not had my $600 redeposited, nor have I gotten any acknowledgement/email/apology from thredup. It has been -23- days since I returned my box. "
“Hi there. Thank you for your review. We'd like to go over this matter further and have sent you a private message. ”
"I read about this site on a reputable blog, did my research of online reviews and felt it safe to send my items to them. I was wrong! I sent 3 items, 2 of which I knew would not be worth much. The 3rd item, however, was a purse in good to great condition that estimated a $20-$30 payout and I received $0. NOTHING! They have "donated", or as I like to say "STOLEN" my purse and now are going to turn around and sell it for a profit. I would also think hard about shopping here as you are probably buying merchandise that has been stolen from someone like me. I for one would never want to give my business to people like that."
"If you are a seller, run. If you are a buyer, beware. I sent in a bag of nice clothing, some items still had tags. They rejected a Zac Posen dress with tags claiming that there were "holes" in the dress. Uh, hello, it's brand new....never worn. Then they take apart a Tuxedo by ABS and sell individual pieces...and the worst was that they took a pair of Ariat riding boots, brand new, never worn - $495.00 and sold them without my approval for $29.99. I was astounded. They do not know what they have. So I approached them about the boots as I was furious and they added a whopping $72.00 to my balance. I can't stand the way they run this company. Run. And if you do buy something, there's no guarantee that it's in great shape either. In my opinion, when they first started they seemed to do a nice job. Now they are just overpriced junk."
"I have enjoyed shopping for myself and my son through ThredUp. I love that I can select the condition of the clothing and accessories, along with size, brand, etc. Also, free shipping when I spend a certain amount, and free returns! I get many compliments on my outfits from ThredUp. Thank you ThredUp! I'm a big fan.
Tip: You can get $10 your first order on ThredUp through this referral link: www.thredup.com/r/YUK5MV ( just take copy/paste this link to make the link work in your browser.) The $10 credit will automatically show up in your shopping cart/check-out page once you sign-in to your account. Enjoy!"
"Do not send them anything!! You will receive pennies for your items. However, I send 2 genuine COACH bags, and received nothing ...apparently they were "responsibly recycled"! They were in excellent condition with few blemishes. Apparently, everything must be in "perfect" condition. Why would anyone send in brand new items only to receive a fraction of their cost in return. The entire process is completely flawed and misrepresented."

"Biggest rip off company. My daughter sent a bag of item, we sent numerous emails and no response from this company. Then they give her $1.50 credit for what????? I know what items she had in the bag and they were clean, current in style item,. I think this company is a TOTAL RIP OFF company and should be disgusted with themselves and their lousy no responsive customer service... Seller beware"
“Hi there! We would appreciate the opportunity to review your daughter's payout history. We have followed-up via private message. We look forward to hearing from you. ”
"I just love how I can online shop and still pay good prices. So far I have found lots of clothes I love. "
