Thredup contacted me and apologized. They also relisted the item and gave me a sizable payout for the item -- at first they listed it for $60 for resale, and now it is listed for over $200. It's a win win because now Thredup will make more, and I made more.

Sent in a brand-new, never-used designer handbag to Thredup. Thredup told me originally that they would list it for $195--$250. Well, just saw that my purse sold for $60 on Thredup, and I was paid $23.60. That was a GENUINE LEATHER HANDBAG which is CURRENTLY BEING RETAILED FOR $525! Why would Thredup say the original price was $149 and sell it for $60? That is just bizarre!
The worst part of all of this is that THREDUP TOLD ME that they would list it for $195--$250, and they went back on their word. The purse was in perfect condition and it was brand new.
I used to tell everyone about Thredup. Never again. I used to drive traffic to you. No more. No more shopping, no more word of mouth.
I've sent in bags before and I got paid for them. But this is the 3rd bag I have sent in and it is the lowest per item payout i have ever received. They have steadily gone downhill.

"I received a value of $2.42 for my ThredUp bag, which included many Michael Kors, The Limited, Express, Ann Taylor, and Ann Taylor Loft items. I feel like I have been robbed and needless to say, will not be using ThredUp again and will be absolutely sure to very seriously dissuade any friends or family members who consider using the service as well. It is easy to see how they are able to sell designer clothing at such great prices when their business model is essentially stealing clothing at no cost from those who send clothes in an attempt to sell and then selling for a profit. Live and learn from our mistakes I suppose, but in the future I will be donating my used clothing to charity."

"This was my second time purchasing items from ThredUP. I am very happy with my handbags, clothing, and shoes that I purchased. With one exception, I returned one pair of shoes because the color on the web site was yellow, but the shoes I received was orange. Still waiting the outcome of my return transaction, I can't rate how easy it is to return an item until the return has been completed and I receive my requested in store credit. When this is completed I'll return with an update. But so far I an a very happy customer. Love your store!!"
