"Very poor service. website advertises 2-3 day fast shipping yet on my 6th day waiting. no tracking number don't even know where it is. emailed several time and received emails of no help telling my things i already knew. called several times. one answered call the guy as well did no give me straight answers. this is a crappy website and very shady."

"good products, good prices, but they can't get their shipping right. I understand that one of the items had to be delayed due to a faulty batch, but they also sent the wrong power adapter once it finally did come in the mail. All in all, the transaction took much longer than I wanted it to, and I'm sure it cost them more than they wanted it to."

"Buyers beware,

I purchased and paid $162.95 + $8.00 shipping for a "Brand New" Blackeberry Pearl 8100 Unlocked GSM Cell Phone from Thrifty Computer on February 23, 2009. The webpage clearly describes the condition as "Brand New". I am happy to fax or mail the ad that states the condition as "Brand New" to anyone interested.

I was sent a used phone instead. It was to be a gift for my wife and therefore it was unacceptable. I immediately returned the phone for a refund and it was signed for by Thrifty Computer on 03-02-2009. I have made numerous follow-up phone calls to check the status of my refund and I am continually being told "it will be processed today". This has been going on for over three weeks now!!!

The return policy for Thrifty Computer states as follows:

We offer a 30 day warranty on all products. We will take your item back for a replacement or a refund. In line with our 100% satisfaction guarantee, we will accept items back for a refund / exchange within 14 days od delivery, if item is not as expected, not compatible or other reasons.

My item was obviously not as expected. I ordered a new phone and received a used one!!!

I have politely called several times and I have been been very patient with Thrifty Computer because I did not wish to send a negative rating. The UPS tracking documentation shows that the location where the package was returned is a residential address. Obviously, this is a small time operation that is clearly not ready for prime time. They took posession of the returned package 24 days ago and still they have not credited my account. Very, very poor customer service. Buyer beware.

"I received my bluetooth headset within the expected amount of time, but some parts were either wrong or missing, and I suspect the headset I got was either used or an open-box return. Support was quick to apologize, but failed to communicate with me again following that initial apology. That is, until a week later when I posted my review here, which got me a response the following day.

As you can see below in their response, thriftycomputer claims the packages were "banged open" during shipping to them. I can't help but feel suspicious of that explanation, not only cause it just sounds like an odd made-up excuse to anyone with a brain, but because there are other reviews here complaining of similar things -- the receipt of merchandise that seems used, but is advertised as brand new. The company does have a 14-day return policy, even on open-box merchandise, so you have to wonder what they do with all those open returns. I can understand restocking certain returned items, as long as it's done well, and as long as the items are still in brand-new condition. But, for bluetooth headsets, which after being opened generally go into people's ears, it wouldn't be good if they sent those back out again to other customers.

Eventually I got emailed a shipping label to send the unit back, and I did receive a full refund. However the only reason I got that to happen was because I posted a bad review here, which they wanted me to revise. Also, each step of this process took an exorbitant amount of time. It shouldn't take the threat of a bad review to get a company to respond to a paying customer's inquiry.

Despite this having worked out in the end, the time it took, the steps I was forced to take, and the questionable state of the merchandise, makes me not want to recommend this site to others. I certainly won't be ordering from them again myself.

My 1st order 6670 dated 06-02-2009 --- did lot of continuous follow up and after one week the y replied that When they went to ship, they noticed that this is not brand new, where I was forced to cancel the order that to after a week I don’t get then y do they take $ 8.00 for shipping I think just to buy time for processing.
,,,,,Here’s my 2nd order story-----Date: 23-02-2009 Order id: #7420 --So after confirming with them that they have new product in stock, I placed my order – (totally assured and relaxed that I will receive my cell soon.)) – as the time passed this guys reply that they will do it 2day, they have problem with battery, they fired shipping man, product have been shipped but we dont have tracking details and all that excuses that they can generate to fool me. They just bluff around the order for almost one month with all the excuses and lies till March 19, 2009 where I was forced to cancel the order.
In short they fool me around 45 days with all the lies and storied they can generate that to confirming with them about the product before placing order to them. Dont believe in their words at all they just try to get the order and one the order is done they are lest bothered about shipping.

"Ordered 2 bluetooth headsets. One worked perfectly, but the other failed (out of the box). Often times having to deal with defects tells you more about a company than a smooth transaction.

Just wanted to send a quick note of "Thanks". I followed the RMA process, returned the defected piece, and received the replacement a few days ago. All is working well and I am VERY satisfied.

"Be Warned! This company have no process for RMA's. Email's, Voice mails and messages all go unanswered. Or worse yet, they get snide responses. It finally took 2 weeks and a negative review on this site to get a response from "Elchonon" the owner. He then proceeded to remove my review from this site saying he refunded my money, he didn't think reviews for refunded items have merit.

To my surprise Reseller Ratings agreed. They took down the review, and put the burden of proof on me. No problem. Why isn't this same scrutiny applied to Merchants though?
