"Ordered a Nikon D90 over two weeks ago. Item never shipped, it was supposed to be delivered within 7-9 business days. My card was charged right away. After a week of "new order" status I called and I was offered expensive accessories and warranties, which I declined. Later, my polite emails asking for an estimate shipping date were ignored. When I called again after two weeks of nothing, they confirmed the item had not shipped. When I tried to interrupt the agents monologue of ridiculous excuses and tried to cancel the order, I was yelled at and chided for ordering the free shipping. I did another search for the camera and found it cheaper at reputable online stores. This place changed its name to US1Camera.com and has been dropped by Pricegrabber and other websites, beware of another name change. "
"I ordered a 40D body only from this company. I did my research on this reseller first, and besides the plethora of negative reviews at resellerratings.com, the company address in New Jersey (probably actually located in NYC somewhere, just using a UPS mailbox) sent up a red flag as that area is known for "bait and switch" companies.
However, I noticed that there were just as many positive reviews, which were suspiciously short and glowingly positive. They seemed suspicious, perhaps spurious ratings inserted by us1camera, or perhaps even relatives of employees ("Hey, I'll give you a good deal on a camera if you promise to leave a positive review!"), but resellerratings.com does at least appear to check invoice numbers verify fraud, so I can only give the benefit of the doubt.
These mixed reviews and the fact that two camera review sites that I trust a great deal had us1camera listed made me go ahead an purchase the 40D.
I was prepared for possible negative experiences based on the reviews. They did request that I call to "confirm" my order "in order to prevent fraud," and I was offered a "high capacity" battery, but there was no pressure and the call was quick and painless. Michael was the salesman and he was courteous albeit quite rushed sounding. I made sure that he told me that the camera I was purchasing was a NEW camera with a USA manufacturer's warranty card. He told me it was and said that my camera would arrive before the end of next week (I ordered on 11/27 Thursday).
I paid for expedited ground shipping, 4-6 days. I did this to avoid the long ship time for free shipping (7-9 days) and the processing time (24-72 hours). Apparently, you can count on there being quite a bit of processing time no matter what kind of shipping you opt for.
By Wednesday of next week, I hadn't received a shipping notification and tracking number, so I called us1camera's customer service. The hours aren't so great, I mean 11-4PM? When I did call I had to wait for about 30 minutes, which I had anticipated based on other reviews. The automated wait message (the heaviest Brooklyn accents you'll hear!) said that they were experiencing an exceptionally large call volume. I must wonder if anyone at us1camera has considered that if they didn't require call backs for orders (which is pointless), that perhaps they wouldn't have this problem. Anyway, I talked to an unnamed gentleman who was very terse and rushed sounding, but not rude. I asked if my camera was going to ship soon because I had a 4-6 day ship time and was supposed to get it by Friday. He said that I would get a tracking number probably tomorrow and that I would have the camera by Monday, which isn't the end of the week obviously.
Well, I did actually receive tracking the following day, and much to my pleasant surprise, my shipping method was promoted to 2nd day air! Major kudos to us1camera for that, because I actually got the camera on Friday and was very happy.
The camera arrived and wasn't an actual body only retail box, but a 17-85mm kit with the lens removed. However, everything else was in the box and absolutely new. Warranty card and US model.
So in all, I have to admit that my experience was positive with us1camera. Not 100% positive, because of the rather long processing time, long phone waits, and not 100% accurate product descriptions. However, I'm happy with my purchase which I got for an AMAZINGLY cheap price.

"Though the ordering is painless, and the people were very helpful, I will not recommend this store to anyone else.
I placed an order for an Optoma HD65 projector on November 29th. They claim that they ship after processing for 1-3 business days.
After checking the status on December 8th, it was still in "Billing/Verification". This is ridiculous because they already had my money sent through PayPal (I needed it shipped to a different address than my billing address, this is how they handle that. Not an issue), however, this was not really the case.
What "really" happened is that they were supposed to get 50 in stock, but ended up only getting 25. So they sold me something they didn't actually have the ability to give me. Even now, it's STILL for sale on their website, and their salespeople claim that it's in stock, but customer service says no.
This isn't the problem. The problem is that it seems I would have never been notified unless I had called up, and waited 35 minutes on hold. They told me "oh, you should have gotten our email", but apparently the email was lost somewhere, because I never got it. I was also supposed to receive an email about the cancellation, and the refund. I never got either of these.
I'm now waiting patiently for my $780 refund to come back through to me. If this happens, I'll revise this with my whole experience.
12/10/08: Spoke with customer service after being on hold for over an hour, and they said it'd be 3-5 more business days for a refund. Sales still thinks they have the projector in stock that customer service says they don't.
12/18/08: Donna called me twice notifying me that I'd get my refund soon. Once yesterday and once today. I got the refund today.
To sum my experience up:
11/29 - 12/8: No clue what's going on
12/8 - 12/18: Waiting for a refund.
In the day and age of instant communication and payment, this is completely unacceptable. If you deal with this company, do not order online, as you won't be kept in the loop. Call them, make sure they have what you want, and don't pay with PayPal."

"After getting a long delay on waiting for the product, I called to request a tracking number. from reading the reviews, it seems they have a pat answer about a warehouse drop ship. I own a small company and any of my employees can tell you immediately the status and or tracking number of any shipment. This is a service provided by UPS if you you have a company account that costs $90/month from UPS. And we charge only after shipment is sent. So the reviews scared me off and I am not willing to call them again, so emailed my cancellation notice and started a charge card dispute. "VERY DISAPPOINTING! -- TOURIST/PEOPLE ON BUSINESS TRIP BETTER BUY IN A STORE OR AT HOME!
I'm a german and here in US for a Business trip of several weeks, i deceided to order a camera at this store more than 2 weeks ago.
Reasons to complain:
- more or less difficult procedure regarding my shipping address (my clients office) sending scanned diver licence and ID (germany driver licence has no adress on it)
- HIGH RISK Request of sending the scanned creditcard front AND BACK (I will discuss this policy once i'm back in Germany with my Credit Card Company, but from my point of view this should be NEVER done - at least not the backside with the security code, this is a VERY HIGH potential risk sending this in a email, probably i will need to get a new card after this, i was never requested to do such things in germany, and i'm really shopping a lot in the internet)
- CANCELLATION of my order without NOTIFYING ME (In fact i called a week ago, they told me that it will be drop shipped, now they cancelled it again, as my college who also order a camera but signed up for an account there got his order cancelled... - i didn't sign up for an account, as i did not expect any problems)
- VERY BAD AVAILABILTY of Customer Service (takes long time to get one on the phone)
- UNPOLITE Customer Service, just hungs up
- NO ANSWER to emails
I'm really very very very angry about this company and can not recommed it at all. I'm not sure if all mail orders / internet companys here in the US are that strange or if i just had bad luck, but i looks like i will not spend anything here anymore, as i'm anyway leaving in 2 weeks.

"Ordered a canon XSI with 18-55 lens, new in box, 1 year warrenty, on 11-17-2008, payed $12.95 for 4-6 day ground, it is now 11-27-2008, 10 days, and it has not been shipped. They did not process my order until 5 days after I made it and only then after I called "customer service" and complained, and the other reviews about the horrible customer service are true, I hope you have plenty of time to be on hold.
I have tried e-mail and phone calls to get my camera shipped but nothing seems to work, so this review and the BBB are next. I will update when I find out more.
Update: 12/1/2008
US1 did respond to an email I sent about this issue, I received an email from US1Photo on 11/30/08 stating that "We contacted the dropped shipped company and was confirmed that your order was lost therefore it was never shipped." US1 has refunded the $12.95 paid for 4-6 day shipping, and have a new scheduled delivery date of 12/4/08. I still cannot get customer service without a 30 minute wait, and just get shuffled to another queue.
I will update again when I know more.

Camera was delivered on 12/4 as promised, so the main problem I had with US1photo was the delivery issue and the customer service. i will modify my overall score a little to reflect that everything turned out OK, but I would not do business again. I would rather pay the little extra and know I am going to get what I ordered when I payed for it."

My experience with Customer Service was difficult since often there are long waits to get them on the phone, but eventually when I spoke with Kevin, the manager, I found him to be a very reasonable and helpful person. "Ordered a Sony DSLR-A350, 18-70 lens, and HVL-F42AM flash from US1photo on 11/9/2008 with free shipping (expecting the "sale" to end... note, there is no end to such sales, it is just one sale event after another).
I got an Email on that Monday saying I had to call for "confirmation", at which time they pushed for upselling (as others commented). I did decide to purchase an extra battery, although I later realized the price on that battery was $20 higher than even Sony's site.... oh well. "Patrick" was pleasant.
Anyway, yes, they were very slow to ship, and yes, they did charge my card days before it actually shipped. I sent them an Email reminding them to meet their "9 day" shipping they had better ship soon and the next day I got a tracking number.
The box arrived on 11/18 in good condition. Everything I ordered was well packed, correct, new, apparently US-spec, and working fine."
