"This place is an online con. I Got a great price, told was in stock and paid extra for 3 day shipping. I passed on the "great deals" on overpriced accessories. Got e-mail invoice and showed ground shipping. When I called they said the camera was backordered. They were VERY RUDE when I explained that my sales rep "Donald" told me it was in stock and I would have it by the week's end. When I said that I would have to cancel the order the woman said "FINE" and hung up. These people are rude. Go elsewhere."
"Now that was strange.
So, for my work I would like to get the Nikon D70 body. On froogle it showed up really cheap. So, I thought let's get it. To get a PO (purchase order) out to these people I will need their address. I could not find it on the site so I called them.
It was a very weird conversation, the price just jumped up and down, and the camera which first was available, pouf, disappeared again, to go on backorder. Then I explained that I needed their address, that was too much and he hung up.
I suppose one could call them from fun, maybe they could advertise as 1 800 call-a-criminal. Hey it's for free! Let’s have some fun with these guys and all call them daily. Just don't give them your credit card number I would say.
"
"When I asked if the Nikon d2x was under nikon usa warrenty ...things went downhill fast. When i cancelled the order I was told "they were going to blacklist me"... "And 20 other web sites of the like were going to prevent me from ordering anything on line". And "I would be charged their cancellation fee"...which I have stopped thru my credit card.
This is a scamer"
"These are certainly "RadioActiveDeals" - stay away from them! Bait and switch, and very nasty on the phone, too. I ordered a camera at the advertised low price and was then told I had to add a package of stuff I did not need for a price that was going to make the camera more expensive than at other stores. I cancelled the order and from what I have read now, I was lucky they did not charge my credit card. DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO BUY THERE - you will be sorry! I am surprised the online reputable community is not doing anything about these crooks. My experience with this outfit makes me prefer to shop in a brick building."
"This place is a scam. If you are stupid enough to place an order after all the warnings people listed here you are probably stupid enough to believe the good reviews listed are from real customers and not the store employees. Why the hell don’t the feds close these crooks down? This place is the classic bait and switch outfit. "
"Same as the rest of the comments.DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!Bait and switch artists.I should have read here first!Bought a Canon s410 for a good price and next day got the email to contact them.Told me it was not a US model and came with no accessories. After I threatened to call my credit card co.,my state attny. general,BBB,and the freakin FBI Bill agreed to cancel my charge without the restocking fee. What a bunch of freakin creeps.Stay away!!!!!!!!!!!"
"Oh boy! Stay away from these crooks! My wife ordered Canon EOS 20D body-only camera. The price was super competitive - $819. After digging a bit I realized that this price is only after Canon $100 rebate which had already expired. I had some suspicious about this outlet. So I called and talked to one of their reps - Peter. I asked him to confirm that the camera is brand new and will be under US warranty. He did confirm. He also said that Canon extended the rebate conditions for them and they still can offer this rebate to their customers. Needless to say I didn't find any trace of this updated rebate conditions anywhere on the net. Of cause he didn't tell me many other things, like that the camera is bare bone. No battery, no manual, no charger, no software, no cables, nothing at all comes with it. Whole scam got unraveled in time only by pure luck just because we decided to ship to a different address and they had to contact us for confirmation. Next day we received email asking to call back ASAP. In a typical bait-and-switch scam another rep Donald suddenly revealed that the camera doesn't come with anything and offered me these parts which would bring the price up to $1399.99. I refused right away. But now I started to worry a lot! I started to drill him with questions and after a while he told me that the camera is made in China and not covered by US warranty. After I refused this order he told me to look at their policy stating that you basically can not refuse without substantial financial penalties (15% restocking fee and non-refundable shipping, which is very over priced). Right after our conversation I checked my order online again and to my horror I realized that it is completely different price now. $819 which was there yesterday on my order disappeared and suddenly I see $1399.99 there. I immediately called back and Donald told me that he "played" with my order (whatever it means) and changed the price without my authorization. Naturally I asked to talk to Donald's supervisor - Monica. I told her to stop the shipment and cancel our order which she did. Just in case I also called our credit card company, reported this scam and asked to monitor my card for any activities from this joint."
"These guys are crooks. You buy an item online at very competitive price but then you get an email that asks you to call customer support before the order can be completed. You are then told that a number of accessories must be specified before closing the sale. This is where overpriced battery, case, memory cards are proposed to you (with no mention of price unless you ask). I still bought the camera with a small number of accessories (ie. battery, case, SD card and reader for a $315 camera)figuring that prices would be in the ballpark of what I know is the avg price on the net. Only when I checked my credit card online did I realized the scam: they had bumped-up the total to $955! Interestingly, the invoice doesn't beakdown price per item - it's all bundled under one single price for a 'special package'. Needless to say, I'm asking for full refund for all items but I am now finding-out that any return is succeptible to a 15% re-stocking fee even if items remain unopen in original packaging. This is going to be painful...
[The date is now 9/10/05]: Well, I'm even more dissatisfied now!!
I have now returned all items for refund, but then got a call from the store
saying one item was missing from the box (of ~$200 value). Well this item
had been shipped back to them, in fact, I haven't even taken it out of the
box. So I opened an inquiry with UPS given that I had insured the goods for
shipping. When UPS asked the store, they no longer had any missing item to
report, they would only claim 'insufficient packaging'. Yet, when they had
to answer American Express, with whom I disputed the charge, they told Amex
they had refunded me for all returned items. The $200 gap was due to a
missing item.
Two different stories, one blatant lie - and a $200 rip-off. "
"Typical bait and switch, offered the accesories that come with the camera for an additional 300. Don't buy from these crooks."
"I tried placing an order of the phone, so I immediately found out that they are not including any of the normal items (battery, battery charger, strap, etc.) with the advertised Canon SD500. The guy on the phone implied that "professionals" want it that way sine they already have all those accessories. IMHO, that's a total scam."
"Steer clear of this company.
I online ordered a Nikon Coolpix camera from them June 6th because of the unbelievable price.I called the next morning to cancel the order because I learned my husband had purchased the camera for me as a surprise. They insisted on sending the camera anyway claiming it was already enroute. When it arrived, the shipping date was two days later than my phone call. I did not open the box, but returned it to them after having to get return authorizations, and faxing "purchase info." They charged me $140 for restocking and return fees on a camera I never wanted sent. I called a month later when the credit did not appear on my bill. As of July 12th they have yet to credit my account. I am still waitng for a refund from this company. They are rude on the phone and definely not concerned about customer satifaction. I will NEVER purchase anything from this compny and will do my best to steer others away from a very bad experience. "
"I had the same experience as everyone else. I wish I would have checked here first. After I placed the order for a Canon SD-300 camera, I received an email to give them a call.
They tried to upsell me on a memory card, then a battery, when I wouldn't bite, I was told that the camera I was purchasing was a refurb, no box, etc.
At least they didn't haggle when I canceled on the spot. I will be checking my credit card bill closely though...
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS!!"
"THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.
How can they still be in business? I've looked at complaints about them dating back to almost a year! Is our system so flawed that this company can still be running their bait-and-switch scam?
I ordered two video camcorders from them only to be called a few days later by Donald (a very slimey and slick man) who told me the camera was in madarian (which is only a spoken language) and came with no cables, battery, etc. etc. Similar story to many of the complaints out there. Except DONALD would not let me cancel my order. He said it was too late and the only other option would be to upgrade to the more expensive retail version (a $250 difference). Sheesh!
I reported them to everyone I can think of and am trying to stop the bank from processing the charge. I've already reported the charge as fradulent and am disputing it. I'm going to make sure these crooks don't get any of my money."
"Ordered a pv-gs250 camcorder for $579 and paid 39.90 for 3-5 day sh. I recieved a phone call early this morning stating that I would need to buy an extra $179 worth of batteries cables and other stuff that should have come w/ it and they didn't advertise that it wouldn't so we assumed it would. So basically this idiot was very rude when I told him I wanted to cancel the order, he kept speaking over me and being extremely condisending. He basically said that he is charging a 7% cancelation fee ($50) and that I should read the fine print and that there is nothing I could do about it. First off I paid for 3-5 day shp. and it should have been sent out being that the credit card was already charged but instead they held it to try and sell me stuff that should have been included and made it impossible for me to cancel without being charged a cancellation fee. I will be contacting my states attorney general and the consumer protection agency and BBB. I may not be able to get my $50 back but maybe it will put a kink in their chain. UPDATE 7-7-05 I called my credit card company today and they closed off the account so they won't be getting any of my money either so Donald will have to just deal with that! That's what you get when your a crook, NOTHING."
"With not the fastest delivery service they honestly warned that the item will not most probably be delivered on time and they returned money immediately after I canceled the order. They did responded fast and had no problems with communication."
