"if you cherish the ground you walk on and get mad easily, do not even bother with this fraudulant group of idiots. Same story as all. Saw the canon sd-200 available, purchased it, talked to jack on the phone about the features of the camera, and he never alluted to it being on backorder like they always do. Called to cancel my order, a strange guy got on the phone and it sounded like he hung up. He then came on and told me he was busy playing pacman. Finally got into an arguement about why he needs to take the words avaILabilty off the screen if it isnt available. I told him I would report him to the BBB of Ny, and suddenly he told me about a company that was very reliable for things like digital cameras called www.butterflyphoto.com, and surprisingly it actually is. You can be treated like a saint for only about 20.00 more, but it is well worth it. I think this jack-a** jusy wanted to be on his good side. O well, what ever you do, go skydiving or bunji jumping before you ever order from www.usaphotonation.com. please for your sake as well as mine"
"Avoid USA Photo Nation. It is a bait and switch operation. When the customer refuses to switch they cancel the order.
I Ordered a Canon XT camera with the usual lens. The order was confirmed by email and scheduled for a five day delivery. Then an email message arrived asking that I call about the order which I did.
The agent, who refused to give me his name, but did offer me a job selling cameras, stated that the camera was hard wired with instructions in Chinese and could not be altered, that it would take 6-8 weeks to deliver, even though I ordered expedited delivery in the original order, and that unless I accepted these additional conditions the order would be cancelled. Needless to say, I cancelled.
Don't waste your time with this bait and switch shop. Or if you do and after they jerk you around, contact the Federal Trade Commission and report what seems to be fraud. Somebody has to shut down this sort of attempted rip off.

"I just found this site, and after reading the past reviews on USAPhotoNation, it's uncanny how similiar my experience was with most other unsatisfied users. Same scenario: I ordered a camcorder with a very good price; they send me an e-mail asking me to contact them; they ask me for the last 3 digits of my credit card; then ask if I want to buy a battery which should be standard; when I said no, they then e-mail me that the item is backordered and won't be available for 4-6 weeks but with an option to cancel which of course I did; Funny thing, their web-site still says the item is in stock and they even lowered the price; Bottom line: this is definitly an unethical bait and switch store; stay away. Kudos to this website. I'm going to use it from now on before buying anything online."
"They insist the camera doesn't come with a battery (Canon's website says it does). They claim I didn't put in my CC verification number when making the purchase (liars). They hung up on me when I asked to cancel my order. Hung up on me again, when I asked to speak with a manager. On my 3rd call they told me I should buy somewhere else - I will."
"My story reads like "Metroman's" below, only the culprit's name was Donald, and then Jason. Does anyone know what state's attorney general should be contacted?"
"STAY AWAY FROM USA PHOTO NATION!!!! I bought a camera from them that ended up costing $99.00 more than the advertized price. They offered to cancel the order, but would charge a 15% fee against my VISA. This was a very bad experiance, they are just CROOKS. "
"I placed my order and it was not processed. I was told I needed to speak with Jack. When I finally got Jack he tried to sell me an additional $350 worth of stuff. When I declined I got an email saying my camera was suddenly on backorder. Stay away from these guys. They are bad news."
"I had a very bad experience. After placing the order for a Rebel XT body, I was told it was in chinese and it would take 6 weeks for delivery and insisted on getting a kit(if I wanted English) which was more expensive than other websites. When I asked to cancel the order, they charged me $70+ for cancellation. The customer service was trying to sell more and would not agree to anything. I ended up cancelling the order(and also the credit card, hopefully I don't get charged $70 for cancellation). But just want to make sure others don't fall into the same trap and pay $70+ for nothing. Also their policy on the website states that they would charge the cancellation only after the product is shipped. So technically the cancellation fee should not also be charged. But then I was helpless."
"April 26, Ordered a Sony DSC-P200 @ $288.00 plus $19.90 shipping and handling. Received several e-mails for vendor stating the where trying to contact me concerning my order and to call them. I called and left a few messages over the next week or so. May 4, USA Photo Nation representative returned my call and tried top sell me $200 in extras I did not want. I tiold them to just ship the camera. May 5, I received and e-mail from the vendor stating that the camera was back ordered 4-6 weeks and if I wanted to cancel the order just reply to the e-mail. May 6, I received notification that my e-mail did not reach the vendor. I spoke with other vendors selling the camera who told me that i would never get the camera at that price and it was ascam to get you to buy extras at inflated prices. Tell everyone you know to stay away from USA Photo Nation."
"I found out, while trying to purchase a Sony DVD403 camcorder, that this company engages in blatant bait and switch practices without apology. They offered the camcorder at $514 as an inducement to get customers to place orders. After placing an internet order customers receive an email stating that Photo Nation is attempting to contact them about their order. Obstensibly this is about the credit card security code, but additionally overpriced accessories are pushed (e.g. $159 for a 4h Li battery that can be purchased at Circuit City for $99). When accessories are refused an email is sent that low priced loss leader item originally ordered is unavailable - despite the fact that it continues to be advertised on the website and by sales reps as available. Further inquiry reveals that the low priced item is a "gray" or "international" version that is on back order, while the fully equipped and warranted item is available - although no distinction is made anywhere on the website or when you order and it is only possible to order the camcorder in one version, not a stripped down version v. regular version.
Further substantiating the perception that this is an organized bait and switch operation is the company's response. Although the price of the camera was changed on the website after notification of backorder, the website continued to show it as being available and sales reps continued to state that it was in stock when I called to request it. When confronted employees refused to provide an address for the business. Overall the worst experience I have had."
"These guys are running a scam. I made a purchase, then received an email saying to call re my order. When I finally reached someone, he tried to sell me a charger and battery for the camera that should have been included....it even said so in the item description. When I declined any additional products he argued how will you use the camera w/o a charger & battery. I insisted he send it in the manner advertised and packaged by sont. Moments later I received an email that the camera was on backorder for 4-6 weeks and I was welcome to cancel. "
"Tried to buy a digital camera from these people. Had the EXACT same experience as everyone else. The order didn't ship out for weeks as they "attempted to contact me", which meant e-mailing me about once a week in between my attempts to call them (line either busy or office is closed), e-mail (with no response), or leave voicemails (also with no response). When I finally did get ahold of them, they tried to sell me batteries, charger, and memory, which they claimed did not come with the phone. Then they told me that the camera was on backorder and there would be an even longer delay before it was shipped out. At that point I asked to just cancel the order. They promptly hung up on me.
Only after coming here to write a review on this company did I realize that other people were having these problems, too...should have read the reviews. "
"Bait-and-switch. Same story as everyone else. Wish I'd checked the reviews/ratings first.
If you've been burned, PLEASE report these people to the BBB of Metro New York at www.newyork.bbb.org.
I ordered a Canon Powershot A400 for $118. They called supposedly to verify my address, then told me the item was out of stock for SEVEN weeks, and tried to upsell me to a "special kit" that was (surprise) in stock and ready to ship. The "kit" consisted of the camera and a bunch of Canon parts: strap, card, cables, software, manual and warrantee. This is the normal US retail package. Turns out they intended to sell JUST the camera alone in a box. Their Policies page includes a tiny paragraph that disclaims everything you'd reasonably expect: some products marked "available" may not be available, some products don't include their accessories; you need to call to find out (since when is the manufacturer's warrantee an "accessory"?). I cancelled my order out of sheer disgust, and they tried to hit me with a cancellation fee. I pointed out that the product page plainly states that the other parts are included, so now they claim they won't charge me. I should have insisted that they send me the full package for the advertised price. I buy a lot of stuff online, and I'm usually pretty savvy, but these people are straight up liars. If you're very clever, you might actually be able to get a deal out of these people-- read the Policies and the product page VERY CAREFULLY, and place your order by PHONE. But I'd recommend staying away.
The dumbest part is, the price they tried to trick me into paying was still fairly reasonable. Why try to scam people? "
"After ordering I got a email to call them. It was a bait and switch operation. They said the camera battery and charger were extra. I canceled the order. Do not buy from these guys."
"I purchased an extra extended battery (4 hours) and rapid charger. The extended battery is defective and doesn't hold any charge. The rapid charger is a regular charger; which tells me they lied on the phone and deny it. I paid more than $200 for both. I called them regarding the defective battery; but they don't honor a replacement either. Don't get fooled by their lowest prices. They get you by selling worthless extra accessories."
