"Their website was misleading -- the product was actually without warranty, without accessories, and not a US model, when their website said nothing to indicate accordingly. In addition, customer support was rude, pushy, insulting, and hung up on me saying that I should "take my opinion elsewhere" when I simply asked to cancel my order because I had been mislead. Unbelievable."
"Be warn those guys are crooks, they are not sending you your item imediately , they send you an email to contact them first , than under the pretext of asking info about you credit card (the same exact info you already give them in their webpage), they tell you that you have to buy (expensive) parts to make the digital camera (canon A95) working like flash memory, batteries, waranty even the camera was not coming with waranty (which is a big lie). When the guy find out that I wanted to cancel the sale , he told me that they were $30 cancelation fee !!!!
Again stay away from them"
"Clear bait and switch transaction. Sales person backlogged it as soon as I didnt buy additional items"
"DO NOT ORDER FROM USA PHOTO NATION. Their too good to be prices are just that. They are a shady company that should be shut down. "
"Pulled a bait-and-switch on me. Advertised that they have a Canon 20D camera body for $799. I ordered it and they sent me an email saying they needed to contact me. I called them and first they tried to get me to buy a bunch of accessories, and when I said no to everything they asked if I spoke Mandarin (Chinese). I said no and they said that this was not the US version. To upgrade through their site to the US version required a full kit for $1300. I went back and checked my records and found that almost a year ago I fell for the same scam! There is nothing on their website about it being a foreign version, and they have not "corrected" the listing for many months, if not over a year! The rep I talked to on the phone acknowledged that they get a lot of calls, and they tell people the same thing they told me, and while some people cancel their order, many people end up upgrading. Both times I cancelled my order."
"I ordered a Sony $300.00 camera. A few days later their customer service called and asked if I wanted the battery and charger for another $100.00. When I told them to cancel the order, he insisted that it was the same price I would pay if I bought it locally, and they'd throw in a case and cleaning kit and upgrade my shipping and basically wouldn't let me cancel. They did not give me anything off on the shipping and when I received the camera the battery and charger were sealed in the Sony box, with the camera. So I paid exactly what I would have buying it locally with sales tax - and I had to wait 5 days for it. I'd pretty much consider this false advertising and I will never buy from them again!"
"This is the worst place I have ever done place with. Simply put, they are scam artists."
"I cancelled my order 1/2 hour after the phone call with the company. Among trying to sell me all sorts of crap he also stated the warenty was only 90 days. He said the vbasic camera price (Nikon Collpix8800) included only the camera itself - and not even a manual. Warrenty was $299,- On after thought I got suspecious and call Nikon: (1) They do not package the camera without the bare starp/battery etc. 90 days warrenty only if it is a USED camere. New are 1 year parts & labour. Also more reputable companies offer warrenty at half the $299 USphotonation said.
So all together they lied through their teeth -DON'T BUY FROM THEM!
I am glad Nikon gave me this website to check ratings!
UPdate 04/13: Guess what despite emailing cancellation to the company 30 minuttes after placing the order - they still shipped and charge me! They wrote and said I had to call the sales person to cancel! This is NOT true. Legally a vendor must respect a timely written cancellation. So I have disputed charges and copied our company lawyer!
04/25: Read copy of my email to usaphotonation.com it will help you get your money back when you cancel an order:We have received your package back as "refused" by you. We do not know why
>it was refused no action will be made until you contact our customer
>service department.

>***-***-**** option 3
The item was refused because the order was cancelled in writing immediately after placing it.
I was also contact my phone on the same question by your rep 'Sam'. He tried to offer me less credit that the full amount. I informed him this was
unacceptable and I would dispute.
(1) See copy of my cancellation submitted April 07 11.34 pst - copied below.
(2) You did receive my cancellation - I have a copy of your email from April 07 16.42 pm
(3) As per your own written internet policies an order is not processed until the credit card is charged.
(4) Immediately after having emailed you my written cancellation, I did, as a precaution call my credit card company. I asked if anybody had charged
the $989.89 to my card. The order was not charged yet. I asked if my credit card company could refuse a charge from you if you tried to charge. They said no, but that I could dispute the charge later. This means that even if I choose to accept policies I was never made aware of - (being this was a verbal order)- not an online-order. Then I still complied and I cancelled my order before you had completed processing.
(5) As per the Federal Trade commission and the "Mail and telephone merchandise order rule" Consumers have the right to a full refund when an order is cancelled before shipping. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-internet.htm Further a written cancellation such as the one I sent you must be honored. Onne is not required to also make a verbal cancellation.
Legally (as per item 5) and In accordance with your own policies you must therefore credit the full amount of $989.89 to my credit card.
I am sending copied of all correspondence along with the written dispute to my credit card company. I have also today filed a formal complaint with The Federal trade commission ***-***-****
Any further communication on this matter from USAPHOTONATION must be in writing. I will not accept any call from you.
You have until latest May 01 to credit back the full amount to my credit card. After that I will submit all correspondence and file an 'internetcomplaint' with Attorney General Eliot Spritzer, State of New York, 120 Broadway, New York.
I am informed that his office is already aware of your company and have helped clients retrieve their money from you.
Sincerely
V.Kjoelhede
thank you"
"Sometimes, almost everyday, I call 1-800-USA-3143 on any and EVERY payphone I find to see if they are still in business. Sometimes I even hang up the phone. Sometimes I call and politely ask, "Are you still in business? Yes? O.K, goodbye."
They LOVE that daily assurance. It gives them that big DELL commercial feeling.
Sometimes I think that some day they will be out of business. Sometimes I dial and smile and think to myself...today is that day!
"
"they use the old (bait & switch) technique and the price on the web is body only!!!!!"
"These people are swindlers, plain and simple. They listed their camera on the website at an extra cheap price - in stock - and then sent me an email saying there was a problem with their order. After one unreturned phone call, another 20 minutes on hold, and another person who took my order number only to be put back on hold, I finally got a hold of someone.
He started by trying to sell me an additional battery and charger, for $40, telling me that AA batteries "will leak and destroy the camera." That's simply not true - I checked Nikon's website, which says you can use AA batteries.
But wait - why was I on the phone with him in the first place? Was there a problem with my credit card? No - the camera was out of stock. For five weeks. Okay, so I'm calling so they can try to sell me a bunch of extra crap for a camera that they're not even going to send for another five weeks? What a waste of my time!
Short summary - don't even consider doing business with these people. I wish I had read the other reviews before I dealt with them myself."
"Bait and switch...
Ordered camera got phone call next day stating that it didnt come with battery or charger (which it stated that it did on the site)
Told to cancel order.
"
"I *almost* made a bad purchase from this place. I got the same cheap-o e-mail plot where they try and get you to contact them. Apparently they weren't selling my product (Sony DCRDVD201) with a battery or charger and wanted an extra $166 for that above the price that was quoted. I was happy that they told me it wasn't going to come with a battery or charger so I could go somewhere else and get the product from someplace that takes its customers seriously."
"Misleading website gives the impression that the buyer is buyer a complete package. Let the buyer beware. Some accessories (this is for a digital camera buy) appear to be Sony brand because they are for Sony product but they are brand-X, sold at Sony prices. You don't find out until the box arrives, that the good withing are second rate."
"DO NOT USE THIS SELLER
I wish I would've found this website before I placed my order.
After placing my camera order on line, I got a phone call from Bill to sell me accessories that according to him, didn't come with my camera. His hard sell tactics made me uncomfortable, so I told him I wanted to cancel my whole order. He tried every sales tactic in the book to convince me I would be getting a deal. I kept my calm, but told him, yet again, that I wanted to cancel. He said I could, but there would be a %7 processing fee for "taking 30 minutes of his time on the phone" (he called me) & for "annoying him". To make things worse, he quoted me %7 of an order that included upgrades I didn't even agree to!!! I called my credit card company & they told me not to worry about at thing.
I repeat, DO NOT USE THIS SELLER!!!"
