"USA Photonation is a scam. They scamed me by sucking me in with a very low web price on a Canon A85 digital camera. They were not actually willing to sell me the camera for this price.
They should be in jail"
"Located with froogle search -- listed lowest price on Canon A85 by far. Rec'd email after ordering saying I needed to call them...I was prepared for a fairly high pressure pitch to buy more stuff (accessories, warranties, etc) but frankly wanted that "stuff" anyway and was prepared with the info as to their value. So I called, got what I expected, ordered the additional things that I wanted anyway, and in the end paid a fair price all in all. I am basically satisfied, would consider doing business with them again, and was particularly pleased with the shipping. I paid a low standard shipping rate for everything but got it all within 3 days (I was expecting more like 10 days, so that was a nice surprise.)"
"scam artists and thieves!! ordered an FX1 for $2400 - too good to be true, but i was suckered and they won't refund my money after charging my card and then canceling my ordering when i refused a bunch of over priced extras. do NOT order from this store!! i just heard about this site after it was too late for me..."
"I ordered a FujiFinepix s5100 for $249.00. Three days later I received an email telling me to call Steve. I tried for 4 hours, getting a busy signal or voice mail each time. I finally got a person on the phone and they said they would transfer me to someone who could help me. I waited on hold for 45 minutes. Once someone came on the line, I asked them about their scam I had read about. He asked, "Which scam?" I told him the one where they try to sell you accesories and service warranties for outrageous prices and if you don't buy them, your item is suddenly backordered for several weeks. He asked where I had heard this and I told him it was on several customer review internet sites. He said that it must be a competitor since they can't match their prices. I said that I wanted my order cancelled. He said, "It's cancelled. Goodbye." And hung up on me."
"Just as everyone else has stated, this company is running a scam... usaphotonation.com aka radioactivedeals.com sent me an E-mail to confirm my order, then MIKE!!! @ ext#101 tells me that the product i ordered was infact an international model, lol. He sais it won't come with a battery or charger, i tell him i'll buy this stuff elsewhere, my order is now on backorder indefinately.
I have called plenty of times talking to different departments, each time they were rude, short, and didn't care about me getting my order (an optura 40 for $492, too good to be true).
This place needs to be taken out of buisness!!! report them if you can. also check out the reviews on radioactivedeals.com"
"I ordered a camera here on the internet, the price was excellent, the shipping a bit high, accessories are horrible in price. I was sent an email to request faster shipping, I called back the person tried to sell me more accessories. I did not purchase these and the person told me that I would get my order after their shipment came in (8-12 weeks). I cancelled and the sales person was happy. They are not selling these items unless you purchase very expensive accessories. "
"This kind of action should be punished by law. Simple: they advertise a camera for a very low price (in comparison with every other seller on the web). They make YOU call THEM (it's a nightmare to get through) and when you don't buy any of their over-priced accesories (they make up for the camera's low price, so if you buy the accesories you end up paying more than anywhere else) they put your item on backorder (but you can plainly see the item still being sold on their site). Then they cancell the order.
Save yourself the trouble, spend 20 or 30 bucks more and get the camera you want someplace else."
"Ordered a Canon A95 digital camera, with no accessories. Requested 3-5 business day shipping. Received an e-mail from them wanting me to contact them about the order. Called their customer service and the worker asked me for the 3 digit number on the reverse side of my credit card. He then tried to sell me batteries, a charger, filters, and a extended warranty. I told him I just wanted the camera. He then told me the item would take at least 2 to 3 weeks to ship and it would not be arriving before Christmas because it was shipping from overseas. He said the item would not be warranted. I told him I wanted to cancel the order and he seemed pleased to do it. Don't do business with this place."
"Horrible. I ordered a digital camera, they sent an e-mail saying I needed to contact them (ostensibly for my security number on my credit card) but also told me the battery that came with the camera was a 20 minute battery (?!). When I didn't buy their upgraded battery, they tried to sell me accessories I didn't want. When I refused they told me I had ordered the "overseas" model of my camera (which the website said nothing about) and it didn't come with a warranty or software or cables. When I still declined the offer to upgrade (instead of spending $100 extra to get the "American" version) they changed the shipping estimate from 2 days to 4 weeks (again, because it was "overseas"), forcing me to cancel my order, which they were happy to do. Obviously this is their scheme; put prices that undercut everyone else and then refuse to honor them unless you buy tons of useless accessories."
"Ordered an Olympus C-770 and received an e-mail to contact Mike about my order. He said that the camera did not come with a battery or charger and wondered if I would like to order one for a special price of $79. I said put my order on hold and looked up the camera on the Olympus web site. The web site stated that the battery and charger was included in the package. USAphotonation site states the camera is in original factory-sealed package. Someone is lying and I don't think it's Olympus."
"They are a rip off!!!! Ordered a camera, Ad said and still says available now. Contacted to by extra accessories. Would not buy any extras. Then got e-mail OUT OF STOCK for 6 weeks BUT I COULD CANCEL MY ORDER. So I Did."
"I too got an email to call back for Mike about my order. I was repeatedly getting "Mike's" voice mail. I also spent 45 minutes waiting for customer service during which time I learned by heart all the Christmas songs but never got to talk to anyone. Finally got someone through the "ordering" venue who said that the camera I ordered (as advertised on their site) would not be available for about 10 weeks (while we are 2 weeks away from Xmas). I know of no place that takes a minimum of 10 weeks to replenish electronics merchandise, since these days electronics are almost outdated after 2 and a half months. So what should I suppose they are trying to tell me when claiming that it will take 10 weeks to get more of a Canon digital camera?
Their website is still showing availability for the EOS-20D (which according to "Murphy" will not be available for another 10 weeks at least). I am wondering, in their "terms and conditions" they say they are not responsible for misprints, but it is obvious that they know very well what is going on and they cannot hide behind such clauses.
In short, I am very dissatisfied; so much that if I had time I might have started a class action suit against them.
-------------
Followup to the above: On December 22 the camera I ordered is still showing "availability:yes". I cancelled the order because I think that they have no intent of selling the camera at the price they advertise it, and they only advertise it to lure a volume of customers many of who might fall for their "additional accessories" tricks and pay way more than they would if they went to other sites first. The only good thing that I noticed is that usa photo nation does not appear any longer on the portals where I found them in the first place. It is possible of course that they run their number just before Christmas when most people would be looking and now they crawled back to their hole. But I just hope that, perhaps, what really happened was that they got dropped. Anyone asking for my advice; stay away from them unless you do not mind having to perhaps sue them.

"Wow, just went through what it seems every other person goes through when ordering from this company.
#1 Ordered at a great price
#2 They E-mailed two days later saying they had been trying to get ahold of me (1st lie)
#3 I tried to get ahold of them which was difficult.
#4 When I did, they tried to sell me a whole lot of extras.
#5 They then said they would ship me the camera, a Fuji Fine-Pix 5100 for $249.
#6 Next morning recieved an E-mail that said it was backordered (2nd lie) and would ship in 4-6 weeks.(Last week of January makes for great Christmas gift exchange time.)
#7 Checked their website - same camera, same price and marked "in stock" (3rd lie)
What a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"On 12/7/04 evening I placed an order (#22176-S) for the Panasonic digital camcorder PV-GS400.
Price was $744.78 including the expedited shipping.
After waiting couple of days I received an email to contact USA Photo Nation about my order.
I was disappointed that the camera was not shipped and suspected the additional sales talk.
Eventually, when I talked to 'Jason', I was introduced to all kinds of accessories I could add. I refused
to accept any and only AFTER that I was told that the camera is not in stock and is back-ordered.
I went to the web page and sure enough the camera is listed as in stock, except the price jumped up by $172.
It is obvious to me that they tried to bait me on the camera low price and offset the purchase with additional accessories.
When I refused - they are not interested in keeping their part of the deal. To prove that, I should have been informed about
'back-order' instantly and not after I refused to add anything to my order.
I am an independent filmmaker and I counted to have that camera at the delivery time, and their 'reversal'
unfortunately already created a havoc in my schedule.
I request the help in exposing the 'bait-and-accessorize' practice of USA Photo Nation as well as I ask USA Photo Nation to
stand by their commitment and ship the camera immediately.
THE CAMERA IS STILL LISTED AS IN STOCK, THEY JUST REFUSE TO SHIP IT TO SOMEBODY WHO DID NOT PURCHASE EXTRAS LIKE FILTERS, WARRANTY, ETC!"
"Do not buy from this company they use Bait and Switch tactics.I ordered 2 camera's from them and it took 3 days for them to contact me by email stating that I needed to call them for approval, when I did they almost demanded that I buy additional items to go with these cameras when I turned them down they told me the camera's were not in stock and would have to wait several weeks for delivery after their web site told me that the camera's were indeed in stock. These are bait and switch tactics and should not be tollerated by anyone at any time.total F- on everything but price, but what good is a low price if you can't get the item you want."
