"I ordered and paid for a Nikon SB700 Speedlight from this company on 5/9/13. Their website quotes dispatch within 3-5 working days and delivery within 7-10 days. almost a FULL 6 WEEKS after placing my order the Speeedlight had not even been dispatched. During this 6 week period I emailed them every few days but got nothing other than polite but vague and utterly useless assurances that my order had been upgraded to 'Priority' and would be with me shortly. This of course was a LIE. The order NEVER arrived and I eventually cancelled the order and demanded a full refund. They told me that the refund would be processed within 4-8 days. AGAIN VALUE BASKET HAVE BEEN LYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That assurance was made to me 3 WEEKS AGO and the money has not been refunded.
They are now ignoring my emails to them asking for my money back. This company takes orders, fails to complete the order then STEALS YOR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check through the reviews of this company before giving them your money. My experience with them is by no means the only one were they have taken orders, failed to delivery then refused to refund the money which had been given in good faith.
UPDATE!!!!!!!! - value basket responded to my review with an email asking for all my bank account details,!!! Do they think I am nuts, they have already stolen £199.99 from me. They also suggested that I instigate a 'chargeback' with my credit card company as an alternative to giving my bank account details. Surprise, surprise when I checked with the credit card company that is not possible!!!! Only Valuebasket can start the chargeback process. MORE LIES from Valuebasket.
I have checked this company out on many online reviews since my bad experience, there are literally hundreds of cases identical to mine plus many more cases of customers receiving fake items- that's when something actually doers arrive!!!

UPDATE as of 19/11/13..............
Still no refund from value basket. Still getting polite but utterly useless replies to my emails telling me that they understand my frustration and my refund will be made 'at the soonest time'
Valuebasket have now had over 5 WEEKS to refund my money. I have reported them to action fraud.police.co.uk and would urge anyone else scammed by them to do the same thing!!!!

"This "company" is a scam and if this is not clear, they are crooks. They do not delivery orders and to make it worse post positive reviews. I have reported them to all sorts of agencies and companies. They send out loads of email promises to refund money and never do"

"Thank God my Sony Z ultra has arrived today and it was really a bizarre experience. I came across Valuebasket.com because it offered the best price, free shipping and Cash on Delivery service.
I placed an order of Sony Z Ultra with them on late Sept and it was beginning of the nightmare.First I have to pay $15 for handling if I choose to use COD, Which is fine but it actually took over a week for them to handle my order. After several emails and phone calls ( which always seems to have problem) I finally saw my order stated "order approved".
The website states that 3-5 days to dispatch and 7 days shipping. Which is totally a lie!! I waited patiently for two weeks and the statement of order still says "Order delay, your order has been put on the priority ". I email them several time about the time frame of the shipping but they only reply me polity saying they were sorry due to the large amount of order they recently have, my order is on the priority and they will dispatch my good as soon as possible but never a clear time frame.
After reading some reviewing about valuebasket I actually thought I would never get my phone and it seems like it would be a nightmare if I cancelled my order and ask for refund. However there seems to be 20% of the lucky people that are actually got their products.
So I patiently waited for another 3 weeks, and finally I received a Phone call and email confirmed my shipment, Which is wonderful news.
What surprised me is the previous non-exist customer service seems to revive again. I received update emails of my shipment almost everyday and even received a phone call the date before to notify the time slot of delivery. It's like 5 stars service!!
I've got my phone now and it was well packed and works just fine. The only thing that concerns me the box wasn't factory sealed so it might be a displayed items? I am not sure.
Over all. It took 5-6 weeks from placing the order to arrival of item.
I would buy it again because it offered great price and the products are great too but will not order from them if I am in hurry.

"Value Basket is a TOTAL FRAUD!!! Do NOT use !!! Having waited for 8 weeks for the non-appearance of the goods ordered from Value Basket, and progress chased them every week since, I finally gave up, told them I was cancelling my order and was assured I'd get a full refund. Hah, what a joke !!!! 10 weeks later I'm still waiting. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES !!!!! They will simply take your money and never return it. Have now put the matter in the hands of the fraud department of my bank."

"I WON'T SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN. Item was dispatched from Hong Kong without any indication that it was coming from there. Once the item was in Singapore it was next to impossible to trace. Problem with ValueBasket is they used Toll Group to deliver and Toll Group list two non-working customer service numbers, and do not respond to emails. When I did find a working phone number for their Shipping Company Toll Group, it automatically took you to voicemail. ValueBasket are as bad as any third party they use, and by association I will never use ValueBasket again."

"Don't go anywhere near this bunch of rogues.

I ordered a telephone from these people via a French web site as the price looked good. It was supposed to be posted within 10 days but after this period had come and gone and after numerous email messages with Valuebasket it became obvious they in fact did not have the item in stock. I therefore contacted them and agreed to cancel the order. At this point they told me to expect a refund within a few days - this was weeks ago, and guess what...... still no refund.

Digging deeper into both the UK and French web sites I found that they are in fact based in Hong Kong and not in UK/France as the web ages suggest. All disputes are administered under HK law - good luck with that!

Don't go anywhere near them..........!

Having just received a response from Valuebasket (see below) and being VERY fair, watch this space for an update in case the refund actually reaches my bank account....!

OK, I have given Valuebasket 5 days to make their "prioritised payment" but guess what.... still no refund received so their lies continue!

One strange things I have noticed is that if you look them up on multiple review sites their individual rating is either 1 star (like mine) or 5 stars. Looking at the 5 stars, they all seem to be based overseas (probably Hong Kong) or from reviewers with only 1 review - funny that!

"To resume:
- 25/09/2013 : ordered a phone at 200€ (website indicates 7 pieces in stock)
- 25/09/2013 : my money has been taken (the only thing which goes fast in ValueBasket).
- 01/10/2013 : order status = "Preparing" (still 7 pieces in stock)
- 03/10/2013 : order status = "Waiting" (still 7 pieces in stock)
- 04/10/2013 : customer support tell me a there's a problem with my order (don't know what as the phone seems available), they'll try to send it to me the next week.
- 06/10/2013 : I send an email to cancel my order
- 08/10/2013 : they agree and tell me they need 5-7 days to give me my money back
- 17/10/2013 : I still does not have my money...

So, what they say regarding their stock is not true (i think they don't have any stock), however they take your money anyway.
Prices are low, but I think they use your money as a compensation.

I highly warn against ordering anything on ValueBasket !

"LOST £292 FOR NEW MOBILE

I made an order with Value Basket on 7th September for new phone.

After their projected delivery date had passed I emailed them to find out what was happening. Their reply was that it was being prioritised and would be delivered soon.

After another four days I cancelled the order. VB said they would make an express delivery free of charge but I told them I just wanted my money back. I didn’t trust them.

I’d read all the feedback about them by this time.

3rd October;- I received notification that repayment was in progress, allow 2 to 3 days.

4th October;- Nothing happened , no repayment made.

Checked with visa on subsequent days, still nothing appeared.

From 4th to 15th October kept checking but still no repayment.

I had no email responses to my contacts. The phone line is always unobtainable, it has a message saying it is experiencing high call demand and to try email. Fat Chance. No reply to any of them

THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINALLY IRRESPONSIBLE AND DOES NOT TREAT ITS CUSTOMERS WITH ANY RESPECT. IT SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

The call centre operatives are trained to show patience but are ultimately useless. They cannot access accounts and refuse to give any other avenues for contact.

JUST SAVE YOURSELF THE DISTRESS AND ANXIETY AND SOURCE YOUR ITEM ELSEWHERE.

Illegal traders, Didn't deliver order and are holding onto my money. STAY CLEAR!!!

I have a strong suspicion that this company does not hold any stock, they are based in Hong Kong but like to give the impression that they are based locally with London telephone numbers ported to Hong Kong. I bought an Ipad from them, there website states orders are delivered within 5 days but waited 5 weeks before finally cancelling my order and buying the product from elsewhere.

7 weeks on still unable to get my money back and having to claim it back from my credit card company.

They have wasted loads of my time and constantly come up with pathetic excuses.

Please stay clear and save yourself the hassle.

"I am disappointed by the slow delivery and think that your description of "Shipping time" and "Delivery time" is misleading.
I purchased a camera, deliberately choosing a NZ company, and making sure that the item was in stock. I needed it fairly urgently because I have a job to do on 14th October. You suggested a "Shipping time" of 3-5 days, which I expected to be the delivery time for an item in stock in New Zealand. I ordered the item on 2nd October. Ten days later, on 12th October I still don't have the item. I received a notice that the item was shipped on the 8th. That seemed to be very slow processing for an item already in stock. Then I realised that the item was being shipped from Hong Kong, not a NZ address.
On further examination of your website I find a notice of "Delivery Time" 7-10days. So what does that mean? Do I have to add the shipping time of six days to the delivery time of 7-10 days? Then of course I notice it says "Working days" so I have to add another 4 days to account for the two weekends? So worst case scenario, this is going to take twenty days to arrive when I expected delivery in 3-5 days. Not happy :-(
Shipping time is IRRELEVANT to shoppers. We DONT CARE when the item is shipped, we just want to know when it's going to arrive. So please just give us a realistic DELIVERY TIME

"Tried to purchase a pair of Sennheiser HD800 headphones from this site - not the cheapest however the site looked legitimate. Over $1300 purchase, the site showed fluctuating product levels between 2 and 12, changing stock levels at least every 2 days.

After one week I was advised via e-mail there was No Stock and asking me to cancel the order - despite the site still showing 11 in stock! I obliged and cancelled the order, the site advises the refund is processed within 2 business days.

Despite numerous requests to the Philippines call centre and online, with them returning numerous promises that the refund has been prioritised, there's no refund after 5 Weeks!

Don't risk your money with this alleged "business". After many years making online purchases from many countries, including my own, I've never experienced anything like this. It's not worth the worry that you'll end up in my position, still waiting for the refund.

Doubtless this review will be followed by a number of 5 star reviews which will have the effect of raising the overall star rating. Which reviews will you believe?
