"I placed an order for Google Nexus 10 with ValueBasket.com on 24 July 2013 and till today (3 September 2013), they could not confirm delivery to me.

The committed delivery schedule was supposed to be 5 to 10 business days but 41 days had passed and not even a schedule had been planned for my order!

If you write to them, they will always reply promptly apologise for the delay follow by "your order will be dispatched soon" and they have upgraded your order to expedited delivery at no extra cost. The best thing is, they can tell you the same thing week after week and apparently nothing will be done to your order.

If you try to call them, they will just do the same as they did in the email response and the same old story repeats again. These customer service staffs will not commit anything to you and nothing will improve after the call.

When I first read all the negative reviews, I was skeptical and thought those reviews were too extreme. As thing goes by, the review are all getting more and real and it is just unbelievable ValueBasket.com can treat their customers this way.

It is a nightmare and a total waste of time!!!

" I ordered a phone(Samsung ATIV S I8750 ) from Value basket on the 14th of July. Even though the phone should be delivered in 8-10 working days, a month passed without any delivery. I've called them every week and the explanation I got is that the shipment is late. The last time I called was on the 3rd week of August and I got a "next week" reply.

I decided to ask for a refund which took another 10 days to reach my account.

So in conclusion, A month and a half ago 300 USD came out of my account. Now they are back in and that's it.

To be fair the customer support in value basket are quite nice.

"As I can read, this is site is not really a scammer, but a real chaos in organization. They sell products that they don't have and then they have to get them. If they can't, they send you an apologize and that's all. Meanwhile, they have your money retained. I paste here their message three days after my order. I will post the ending of the story.

"I had ordered Sony Xperia Z LTE C6603 on 12-Aug and it is now 10 days that there is no sign of order being dispatched.
I dont understand what on earth are you guys so busy with; when you are not even half the size of Amazon.com
So many phone calls and so many messages, and only one verbatim response is received with no intimation whatsoever on the dispatch

Just an addition of a SanDisk 4GB microSDHC Memory Card does not do me any good.
This is really an awful way of customer service, order fulfilment and provisioning. This phone was supposed to be given as a gift on 27-Aug, and hence had ordered 2 weeks in advance; and I yet do not see any hopes of it getting dispatched.

"ordered canon camera at over 400gbp. this was claimed to be in stock (and is still showing in stock as I type). 2 weeks later- no despatch. when have contacted them to chase, I was told that it takes time to bubble wrap and quality check! then the issue was the backlog of the orders. they have never given me any idea when the order is likely to ship, other then 'rest assured' and 'as soon as possible'. have requested refund. same story there- 'your request has been passed to our Accounts, we will confirm when refund has been processed' ( a week later still has not happened). when have chased again, received the answer 'rest assured', 'as soon as possible', but 'However due recent system restructuring on our payment gateway this time frame can vary'- I guess it means I might not see my refund in foreseeable future?
I will give a couple more days and will contact my bank and financial adviser and whatever else it takes, to see how I can get my money back legally, before this company has disappeared of the face of the earth.
I am 100% sure any positive or neutral reviews on here are placed by the company itself, as part of their job..

"This is the first time I have purchased from ValueBasket, I must say I am totally satisfied with the experience. The online process is easy without much fuss, the delivery was fast and prompt despite the holidays in between. The tracking feature is useful as it allows me to follow the progress. "I just cancelled my $2500 order after waiting, getting suspicious and researching. I expect to have a lot of trouble getting my money back but I will persist and keep you posted on this and other similar web sites. They have already (in 2 weeks twice) fed me false hopes and denied receiving payment (untrue). They continue to advertise that all three items have ample stock.
I just opened a dispute through PayPal so this will be review of their effectiveness (on behalf of customers) too. I wonder why Visa wouldn't process my payment.............let me guess.

"DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!!!



Valubasket.co.nz or any other domain name of valubasket is for a store shipping goods out of HongKong. They are extremely inefficient and their customer service reps tell lies! I'm pretty sure they use the money they scam off buyers to hire people to just write good reviews on websites like this.



My story (Please read if you are planning on buying from ValueBasket):



I purchased a phone off their site for a price that I thought was very reasonable. At the time when I place the order, the site said that they had them in stock.

ValueBasket promises 3-7 working days to dispatch your purchase. 2 weeks later I discover that the phone has not even moved. So I ring them up. The woman who I spoke to assured me that she had spoken to their logistics department and that the phone was due to be delivered in 2 days. I can handle this. 3 days pass, no update on the phone. It is now Friday. So I ring again. This time the woman promises me that the will have it sent first thing Monday. I ask them if they have the item in stock, to which I received a very positive yes. For my inconvenience I am offered a Class 2, 4 GB SD card. Which ultimately is worthless (it cant even record HD video off the phone). I just want the phone! Monday comes, and still no update telling me that the phone is sent. I call again. Now I am told that the phone is scheduled to be sent out at the end of the week. I am apologised to and told again that, "Yes, they have my phone in stock. The only delay is a backlog of unexpectedly high purchase orders." I am unable to speak with any managers as they have none, nor do they have any supervisors. I am not allowed to speak with their suppliers. I'm only allowed to believe that what they are telling me is true.

The next day I decided to send them an email to see if I could find some answers. When I finally received a response, I tells me the following:



"Thank you for contacting us.

With regards to your order, we regret to inform you that the LG Optimus 4X HD P880 Android 4.0 SIM Free / Unlocked White is currently out of stock. We update our stock availability information based on our current inventory at least once every business day. However, it does happen, especially for popular in-demand items such as this to experience shortages. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within a short period of time. In this unfortunate event, we would like to offer you Samsung Galaxy Express LTE I8730 8GB SIM Free / Unlocked (White) for an additional payment of NZD 21. We are offering this price at a special discount you probably won't find a better deal anywhere else. The item came highly recommended by our Marketing Team and offers similar feel and functionality to your original purchase."

As you can see, this email clearly shows how much they have been lying to me. ValueBasket has no problems at all taking your money and making promises, but when it comes to giving you the goods, BEWARE! They wont do it.
On receiving this email, I again called ValueBasket. While telling the woman how annoyed I was, she let it slip that she too was worried about the amount of calls she receives about their poor service. This just proves that ValueBasket is not following through with its side of sales.
I have since then requested a refund. And I am still waiting. I was told that it takes 4-8 working days. But then I have been told a lot of things that were blatant lies! I have a feeling that my money is well lost and I have been scammed.

I purchased a Google Nexus 10 tablet from what is portrayed as a UK based company. Its not, they are in Hong Kong.. Delivery stated 5 - 7 working days. I chased the unit after two weeks to be told "sorry 'hopefully' we can get one out to you by the end of next week as they have no stock" (When I placed the order they said that they had 10 in stock) I then tried to cancel the order due to an unacceptable delivery time. I got an email back almost immediately back saying sorry I cant cancel the order as it is 'due' to be shipped. Sure enough four days later it arrived. Not happy at the delay, but I thought at least I have it now.

Talk about just my luck, I have a faulty unit. So, as its within their 14 day returns period I am able to return it to them.... in HONG KONG !!! On top of that I have an email listing every possible way they can deduct a percentage of the purchase price "at their discretion" as "a restocking fee" For example, not original or damaged packaging minus 25% of purchase price

So I'm now in the position where I have a faulty Nexus 10, which I have to ship to Hong Kong. What are the chances this thing will arrive to the right place? I'm then open to their 'restocking charge' Although the unit will be returned in its original packaging, as I have kept it all, I have no come back if they turn round and say it was damaged in transit.

The people on the telephone are of no use whatsoever and just tell you to fill out an on line form.

I have never completed one of these review forms before, but I am that disgusted with their level of service if I can warn just one person its worth it.

So in conclusion. PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY AT YOUR PERIL. IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG THEY WILL IGNORE YOUR REQUESTS TO CANCEL AN ORDER AND HAVE YOU BY THE BALLS IF YOU NEED TO RETURN ANYTHING.

"i have order camera lens with them and it is been no sign to dispatch what so ever, customer service i don't think they have any clue what they are doing? because every time you contact them they will send you same copy and paste messages, most of the companies will only take money from your account when item is ready to dispatch or dispatched. they charge you straight away either they have got item in there hand or not. even now when i checked no there website that do they have this lens in stock it still say that they have got 5 lens in stack this is definite they their system is not working. i have clearly asked them question that have you got item in stock or not? and if you can't deliver then cancel my order and process refund?
on answer to this they send me another copy and paste message which is not a help at all.
i have paid them 500+ for lens and what i have got from them no lens and tension that will i get my money from them i have already speaking to my bank and VISA card service to for complaint.

i was told that my order will delivered in 10 working days
i would have to WARN all buyers that "DO NOT BUY ANY ITEM FROM VALUEBASKET.COM"
