"Bad business model with some bad results but worked out OK overall.
In order to get free shipping on some shoes I had to hit $50 (I think) so I ordered a bunch of cleaning supplies. I must have cost them a fortune to ship all those liquids, they came in 2 boxes and my shoes aren't even here yet. Plus supid incentives lead to stupid results...the laundry detergeant leaked all over the rest of the stuff.
It was a mess to clean up but cust svc was nice, helpful and US-based by the southern accent. No, not Tamil :-) They refunded me for the detergent and the box of bags that was soaked which was very fair, but it's worth using some sense about what you order. Not everything that CAN be shipped SHOULD be shipped :-)
Overall it might actually be a good way to get groceries cheaply and convienently tho I can't imagine why they'd continue doing it.

"TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMERS SERVICE. Oh did I mention terrible. I got a hold of dreyin New Mexico after 15 minutes on hold (with no sound), then he transfered me to Carlos who could not wait two minutes for me to come back on line so he hung up phone.
Will never ever purchase anything online from them again."
"Of course Walmart.com does not actively participate in ResellerRatings to monitor feedback - THEY DON'T CARE.
I preordered SWTOR collectors edition in early october, they sent my preorder code just fine, and everything was dandy. I emailed three times asking if quantity was going to be an issue, to which they flat out ignored. However, since I got my code via mail I figured all was ok. Nope!
I then got an email early December (thats two freaking months later) stating to 'ignore my account page showing the item is cancelled'
then paypal emailed me stating that I was going to get a refund.
then i emailed them asking what was going on. They didn't ignore me this time, and told me to ignore it, i was getting my item.
then the refund actually processed
and again they told me via email that my order was not cancelled - but when I called them, sure enough, the phone rep confirmed.
lies, dishonesty, and the fact that I could have purchased this limited edition item from a different retailer - but due to their lies and greed (trying to sell more than they think they are going to get or have in stock) I end up getting screwed. Needless to say my son will be disappointed christmas time - thanks walmart.com! for making my christmas totally stressful and disappointing.
First time customer (well, almost) - and defitely the LAST purchase I will ever make there. Money talks - I'm taking my money elsewhere, and would advise any of you reading this review to do the same, and save yourself the amount of time/effort/trouble that I have gone through."
"Disappointing experience to say the least. Received an email from Walmart.com on an item at a great price and decided to buy (a Motorola Xoom). I then logged onto their website to find that they did not sell the item online (what?) and that I needed to pick it up in-store. I checked the availability of the xoom within 25 miles and was told that three (3) stores had them in stock. I called each store to find out that they did not have them at all.
What a waste of time! Why advertise a great deal on an item without actually having the item? I wasted hours on this "project" (a grad gift for the wife) to end up empty.
Walmart ... please get your act together!"
"Just tried the order online - with free shipping "home free" on most items. Everything arrived really quickly in perfect condition plus a free bag of goodies (toiletries for him and her) I was amazed. Good job Walmart."
"I buy clothes without problem, at a better price and quality than other stores, delivery in good time and in perfect condition, recommended 100%."
"Purchased a starbucks gift card from walmart.com and it arrived unactivated with no balance. Have contacted walmart multiple times but all they say is they will escalate it further but I have never heard back. Calling about the issue again and they give the same bull crap excuse how they will escalate it but I have not heard back. I used a prepaid card to purchase it so I cannot dispute it with my credit card. I am very disappointed as this was a gift and how embarrassing it was to realize it was never activated. "
"I have had great experiences purchasing from Walmart.com.
I usually use pick-up at store.
never an issue."
"Typically, I stay away from Wal-Mart. I can't stand the people that work there or the people who trash the store and let their kids run wild like they are at a Chuck-E-Cheese. On 09/11/2011, my wife and I moved into a new place. Of all the things we forgot to get, we forgot cooking utensils. I decided to look online for a place that would do in-store pickup. I found what I needed and it just so happened a new Wal-Mart had just opened down the street from where we moved.
I ordered the item and it said it would be available in 4 hours or less. It was 10:00AM when I ordered the set and I still hadn't heard anything when I got home around 6:30PM. I decided to go ahead and go over and check to see what was going on. The store said they didn't have the item in-stock and they were waiting for it to be shipped to them. I explained that I understood that this was an option; however, it wasn't the option I selected. The item showed in-stock in the store online. They argued with me for about 10 minutes insisting they didn't have it and I would just have to wait.
After I got done arguing, I walked over and picked the item up off the shelf and showed it to them. They then said I would just have to buy the item AGAIN and ask Walmart.com to cancel my item.
All I can say is...WOW! WAL-MART and WALMART.COM IS AN ABSOLUTE FAILURE AS A COMPANY!!! No wonder Amazon.com is starting to kick the crap out of you!!! "
"Ordered bike on August 18th. Got email from walmart on the 26th of August saying I could pick item up in store from August 25th to September 15th. Went to the store today (September 5th). The bike was no where to be found, was told, "Oh we sent that back, you waited too long." Associate helped me find another bike to replace order. Waited about an hour and a half to have the entire affair finished. When I went to buy the bike was told that I would have to wait three days for refund on my credit card, (the bike was .97 cheaper than one first ordered). Only had forty dollars in cash on me since bike was already paid for, left with no bike. Associate did give me $20 gift card, which was nice of him, but I have a feeling when I go to use it there will probably be a problem."
"I ordered a Magnavox HDD/DVR on a Sunday and received it on Wednesday via FedEX. Shipping was only 97 cents! I'm very happy with the order, and the communication about the order status as it went along."
"I order the Intex salt water, sand filter gift card bundle on walmart website on 7/27/2011 after seeing the bundle listed on their site - I also have an email from walmart.com confirming that the package is supposed to come with 3 items.
Walmart.com only ship 2 items, leaving out the sand filter claiming it was an error on their site and refuse to honor the sales that they had.
Would never buy anything from them again. They have nice customer service rep, but their supervisors are rude. "
"For years, I've been buying sweat shirts from my Walmart brick and mortar. I reached a point where my shirts were so worn that I could almost read a newspaper through them.
I went to my Walmart store looking for replacements and found none. This was late Spring so that sort of makes sense but I was determined to check Walmart's site looking for them and there they were for seven dollars with a low shipping cost of 97 cents. Too hard to resist!
Just to be sure they were OK, I only ordered 3 of them. They arrived in a few days and they are name brand and fine as far as quality is concerned.
I will now be ordering one of each color so I will be set for at least the next few Winters.
I consider this one of my best buys of this season.

"Worst online shopping experience I've ever had! Ordered a $160 razor on 6/14/11. Received email notification of shipment on 6/17/11 w/ USPS tracking#. Tracking number registered as invalid on USPS website for 7 days. (Constantly indicated 'electronic shipping info received) Contacted Wal-Mart & was advised they believed it lost in shipping. They advised me to wait one more day, and if it didn't arrive, they'd either provide a refund or reship. At this point, I was convinced they'd never shipped the first time. Long-story-short, Wal-Mart sends its packages by a third-party service called Streamlite. THEY took 7 days to deliver my package to a post office that's two hours from me. Only THEN, did the tracking number they supplied register as valid. Keep in mind, the TOTAL distance this package was traveling can be driven in TWO HOURS. It took a total of 10-days for Wal-Mart to get my razor delivered over a distance of two-hours' drive. During 9 of those 10 days, their tracking information was invalid. Their online reps were just as in-the-dark and clueless [as myself] regarding even the existence of my package.
A running dialogue during and a venomous follow-up afterwards, yielded a promise of free 2-day shipping on my next order. I can't see myself repeating this experience with Wal-Mart. TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE. "
"Site to Store delivery...Absolutely the worst! Two out of two items ordered at different times were lost and there's no tracking after it's left the distribution center. I think someone is selling items from the truck on a street corner. Even the customer service rep. admitted there is a huge problem with losing items after leaving the distribution center. Do not use this service unless you're willing to gamble on the receipt of your items."
