"I'm one of the many who's getting screwed by Wirefly (nee InPhonic). Submitted my rebates and received confirmation emails in March that they'd been received. So, all is well right? Well, I wait and wait and wait and finally decide to give them a call and find out where the hell my money is. Oh, apparently it takes 8-10 weeks to process the submissions BEFORE the processing company processes them. Then it takes another 10-12 for them to process it and mail the check. Yeah, didn't make any sense to me either, especially since the forms are mailed to the PROCESSING FACILITY in the first place! Equally maddening is that the form says 10-12 weeks for payment (or maybe 8-10, don't have it in front of me). Anyhow, after a call from the Arizona BBB, I "miraculously" received two emails in June stating that my claims were valid and being processed. I called back today and amazingly got a warm body on the phone who told me that checks were mailing in 5-10 biz days. Apparently this is also a stall tactic, so I've asked to join the Class Action suit and I've filed with the DC AG as well. Should be interesting, especially since I've retained copies of everything submitted, as well as all of their email correspondence.
Also interesting to note is the following:

Any wonder why their 6 month rating is 4.26 vs. their lifetime rating of 2.33? Lots of shills for wirefly, over 1/4 of the reviews (51 as of this typing) in the last 6 months were from the shills listed above....pretty sad. Apparently, princessrainbow and CathyMack both have issues with the spelling of definitely, probably because they're the same lame-ass wirefly employee. haha
MotherNature is the only one I've seen with more than a 1, but the other posts are equally full of praise for other vendors, which makes me wonder if there's a job out there that pays people to submit bogus positive message board posts. ;)"
"I ordered two car chargers and two wall chargers at 9 am eastern time on August 16th...and paid 25$ for them to be overnighted...It is the 22nd...Still NO shipment has been made. Meanwhile their shipping from Largo, MD..i only live about 30 minutes away!! This company is a joke...Its a rip off!! Does anyone have the number to customer service so i can call them?? I cant find it anywhere."
"STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! DO NOT BUY FROM WIREFLY.COM.
LIKE EVERYONE SAYS IN THIS FORUM, THIS COMPANY NEVER PAYS REBATE.
The rebate claim office never picks up the phone. The website is down. I still waiting for $400 rebate from Wirefly.com.
I filed 4 rebates ($100 each) on time in April 2006. I recevied 4 emails from cellphonereabtes.com, which is repsonsible for handling the rebates for Wirefly.com according to the website.
Two rebates were found not valid and they claim that I have changed the rate plan. But I never did! I am still using a Cingular Family plan with 2 phone lines. It is a 2-year contract. Still valid.
Anyway, if you call the 800 number to the rebate center. You keep on getting the same recorded message. No one will response to any phone call and email won't work.
It is impossible to contact the sale rep at Wirefly.com either. No 800-number whatsoever.
Basically, they are trying hard not to pay the rebates to customers. It is a fraud. So, buyers please DO NOT buy from this company. And we should call 611 to report this fraud to Cingular, urging Cingular to revoke Wirefly's authorized dealership.
I have talked to a Cingular rep too. She recommends me to urge everyone who has run into similar situation for rebates, to file a complaint to Cingular as well as to FCC as well.

Give it a call and you will know what I am talking about.
Again, if you think you will get a good deal (i.e. free phones after rebates) from Wirefly.com, THINK TWICE before placing your order at its website.
And I think CNN and Google should take away its ads from their websites too because this company is cheating people money. "
"Ordered (2) Motorola V360's and limited time family plan on 8/9. Order confirmation indicated phones would be available within 72 hrs. CS rep then indicated phones would take an additional week to ship. Follow-up call on 8/16, escalated request for expected shipping date to warehouse. 8/17, 2:00 PM I was told they still had no specific date the phones would be back in stock, and no specific date phones would ship. I began looking at other options to order phones before T-Mobile rebates and rate plan expired.
Midnight 8/17, I get email from wirefly.com that phones had shipped. Looked at FedEx tracking info, Fedex had taken posession of package at 11:30 AM 8/17. They had shipped the phones two and a half hours before they told me they had no idea when they would even be getting them back in stock.
This lack of information was simply unacceptable. Fortunately, I have the phones, the service is active, the rebates are directly through T-Mobile, so I have no further need for this company. I just find it disturbing that they can provide such poor customer service, yet be the online supplier for many major websites' cell plans (Walmart/Sams club for a start). Next time, I will go directly through the cell company."
"This is a horrible and deceiving company. We bought a phone with $250 rebates. The rebates had very specific dates to send them in (between 180-210 days after purchasing). We were sure to send in the rebates in the specific time.
We then got notice that a month after sending in the rebates that our forms were incomplete, but there was no description given. We kept copies of the forms we sent in, looked them over and could not find anything that was incomplete. We talked with a representative, we faxed her the forms and she agreed that there was nothing wrong. She said the rebates would be processed. We were quite relieved.
A month and a half went by with no rebates. We called them up again and were given the run-around. Finally, we spoke with a manager. She said that since our "re-application" of the rebates (the faxed version of the rebate) was sent in after the 210 days, the rebate was invalid. I've been debating on taking legal action.
There was no way we could have gotten our money back. We filled out the forms correctly, but no matter what, they were going to say there was a problem, and they don't tell you there is a problem until after the 210 window is closed.
This company is totally crooked. Lesson to be learned: never deal with InPhonic and avoid rebates whenever possible."
"Bought RAZR phone because of advertised $200 rebate. After sale, tight restrictions were applied to the rebate. WireFly (InPhonic) eventually refused to pay rebate."
"Purchase; RAZR cell w/ T-moble 1 yr contract.
Cellphone and T-moble all good. Wirefly, however, awful. The salesperson promised overnight shipping (received in 4 days), and 7 months later STILL have NOT received my $200 rebate as promised to be authentic by the salesperson(even with 100% submission compliance.) Dont bother with Wirefly "offers", they are fraud."
"do not purchase from wirefly company. they cheattttttttttt............ i did not get my rebate back and it has been 6 months long. they keep asking me to wait for another two weeks.and i had been waiting for a few two weeks...that's about twelve two weeks since it has been 6 months. so, dont buy here..."
"Rebate practices are a total FRAUD. This company will pull every trick in the book to try to deny and delay your rebate. After all of the aggravation I and others have gone through to try to collect rebates on a phone I could have bought for less money in the store, all I can say is if you even consider purchasing from this company you need a good psychiatrist."
"Equipment ordered was in good order with fast delivery, but that was the end of anything else positive. Wirefly denied (2) rebates for $150.00 each. Rebate system is a joke at best. At first they said that they were processing my rebate. After several weeks, changed the status to denied on both rebates for allegedly not meeting the correct postal dates for submission. Nothing could be further from the truth. All paperwork was complete and sent in on time. Apparently, I am not the only one who has had their rebate denied under the same pretext."
"Cell phone was advertised as "free" after rebate. The flagrantly impossible rebate terms were not disclosed in the ad. After months of stalling and excuses, my rebates were denied for egregiously nonsensical reasons (i.e., invalid phone bill -- I don't have a choice with respect to the format of the bill my carrier sends me; then the excuse was that the rebate was not received within the prescribed time -- again, I have no control over the U.S. Postal Service). This company methodically employs any reason it can to deny promised rebates. Their ads lure the consumer into falsely believing a product is free after rebate, but the rebates are structured in such a way that it is nearly impossible to get them. The DC Attorney General is currently suing InPhonic (lawsuit filed on 6/9/06) due to a deluge of complaints it received regarding non-payment of advertised rebates. I bought a phone I did not need and paid full retail ($250.00) under the false assertion that I was getting a "free" phone. I am just one of countless consumers who have been scammed by this unscrupulous tactic."
"Bought two phones on 09/16/05, after 10 months I am told that I been approved for one phones, 2nd one denied, got them to inquire it about 2nd phone, same reply. Check for the first rebate will be mailed with 10-12 weeks as of march 24 (we will see).
Very deceptive & fraudlent business practice.
And did not get blue tooth as they were advertising, called atleast 50 times.
"
"DO NOT BY FROM WIREFLY.COM. YOU WILL BE RIPPED OFF.
On July 16, 2005, I purchased two Motorola Razr V3 phones, two Bluetooth headsets, and two car chargers from Wirefly.com along with a two yaer contract with Cingular. The offer was for a full rebate on the phones and headsets after six months of service from Cingular.
On July 22, 2005 I promptly received two boxes from Wirefly. Each held one phone and my order status showed complete. I called them to find out where the rest of the merchandise was. They said both phones were shipped in one box and the accessories were in the second box and implied that I was trying to rip them off. After a five month investagation, during which they tried to ripoff UPS by saying UPS losted the items,I received the Bluetooh headsets. I gave up on the car chargers and repurchased them on the outside.
I also notified Cingular of the proceedings, as Wirefly.com is an authorized dealer for them. They sent back a letter stating they sorry for my inconvience.
On January 31, 2006, I submitted all the required information for the rebate program. It seems now (June 29, 2006)they have no record of my purchase or submission.
I am turning this problem over to my attorney and sending a copy to the Florida State Attorney General, so that he too may investagate this company.
In the mean time, I am out $415.00.
Once again I repeat, DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY."

"I'm surprised to see negative reviews on them. I have a couple of friends and I all had great experiences with them. They are fast and shipped out everything very quickly. We even asked for specific colors and they totally obliged.
Well, I had a great experience with them and will go back for future needs."
