"DO NOT GET TRAPPED!!
Like most of the people who (positively) rate the Wirefly (the company owned by Inphonic Inc wich also operates under names myrateplan.com, inphonic.com, Wirefly.com, a1wireless.com, cellphonerebates.com) the initial bying experience was good. The price (their main trap) was good and the shipment was prompt. No complaints. But then the problems began. First they (by mistake?) assign non-local numbers to 2 of my new T-Mobile Motorola V600s. It had to be corrected. The major porblem with them is the rebates they promise. You are better to buy a phone at T-mobile location than hope (as I did) to get them. The setup of the scam is the following. They ask you to send 4 separate rebates (2 Customer loyalty and 2 Customer Appreciation) and send in Separate envelopes. Then part of the rebates (2 in my case) gets "lost" despite sent in serified evelope. After you naively check with them "after 6-8 weeks" they say they have not receive smth and ask to re-submit. After you resubmit lost rebates the time frame of rebate passes and you got rejected because "Dates of submitted wireless bills do not fall within the date range specified on the rebate form." Calling, complaining, and talking to their Rebate Center is useless. I am trying to resolve the issue for almost a year at the moment. No success. If you want to risk your luck, go ahead. but before tru to read their reviews (on any of the names i provide here) or in BBB (under name Inphonic inc) at http://www.dc.bbb.org/codbrep.html?ID=23004111&wlcl=y

"I was very pleased with my purchase- great phone, fast service, and cheaper than any place else I was able to find!"
"This online store "baits" you into a contract by offering a rebate. Trying to get the rebate is another matter. They are unresponsive and obvoisly not interested in paying out any rebates. Type "wirefly.com scam" into any search engine and be prepared to spend a long time reading about this companies business practices."
"Extremely pleased with order processing/shipping time (phone shipped the day it was ordered and arrived in 2 days). Wirefly coordinated the establishment of a carrier/rate plan and the porting of my old number to the new carrier. All correspondence was professional and timely. No follow-up was needed. Doesn't get any better than this!"
"I've now used Wirefly several times when buying cell equipment and plans. They deliver fast & when promised. The equipment is always "ready-to-go". And the prices are amazing. I've recommended Wirefly to several of my friends, and will continue to use them myself. "
"personally, i enjoyed ordering from wirefly. my concern is the rebate. you have to keep it for like three months, with your order receipt, phone bill- to show that you are a paying customer, and information off the box. now my rebate is worth $170.00, and you can bet that i have been checking on it constantly. what i did for my rebate was crush and photo copy sides of the box my phone came in, that had any numbers on it (or important info), copy the invoice from my order, copy the rebate form, and copy my phone bill (you have to check the requirements for which phone bill to send, but do not send one from off the internet as mine did not show an invoice date, so i had to fax the original.) i have seen alot of complaints so i ahve been worried about it, but i call them alot to check the status of my rebate. if you have any problems with trying to access your claim on the net, call the rebate center at 1-***-***-**** and follow the prompts. after you enter your zip code and last name hit zero "0" twice, and you will be sent to a live customer service rep. and while you are on the phone with them ask for your claim id for future inquiries on their website. but make sure you call them about a month after you send you rebate to see if it is going through the system, abd then call back every couple weeks to make sure that any errors their might be on the rebate are resolved as soon as possible since there is also a time limit. good luck on your purchase. ( for the record, the rebate people are actually very nice and helpful, it was just very hard to get this phone number and the figure out how to get to them, but if you do as mentioned before, you will get someone who will be very helpful.)"
"Purchasing my phones and getting them hooked up could not have been faster or easier.
Thanks
WireFly"
"I requested a second phone have not received any notice."
"I purchased Motorola RAZR V3 Black through their website. I had a horrible customer service experience on the phone. I supposed receive Bluetooth Headset but I never did. I called their Customer Service and their response was call us back each time with very rude tone. I received only one package and the note was saying “we are out of stock for the headset. You will receive your headset shortly”. After my several calls, I wanted to return to phone back but of course I couldn’t. I am trying to get back my rebate now. I will be not surprise to not to get any response back. "
"Wirefly is an exception place to buy all your wireless need. The speed of processing and shipping my order was outstanding. I will definetly recommend wirefly to my friends and family. Whenever I am in the market for a new phone, I will definetly use wirefly.

"This review is for Inphonic Inc. AKA WireFly: I purchased my phone in July of 2005 with the promise of receiving 2 rebates, one for $75 and the other for $150. The rebates were mailed twice along with all the required paperwork via certified mail and signature confirmation receipt within the time frame required. I have been dealing with Doreen Denis (she signs her emails as Doreen Dennis, Office of the President) via email as I have been denied. The reasons I have been given for the denial have varied from invalid UPC code (how could it be invalid when it was cut out from the box they shipped the phone), to customer is not eligible for rebate. Anyhow, after spending nearly 4 months emailing, calling, researching, mailing, faxing etc... I decided to join the class action suit against them and writing reviews warning other consumers. From March 2005 to November 2005, Better Business Bureau (BBB) processed 840 customer complaints regarding Inphonic. That is like 3 complaints per day, one of the highest BBB has ever had. What is worse is that Inphonic fails to answer BBB’s calls regarding customer complaints. In November, 2005, BBB dropped Inphonic’s membership in BBB due to “failure to maintain the principles and standards required for membership.” I wish I had researched more about this company, but they operated under Buy.com when I purchased my phone. Be aware of their rebate scam! For more info visit this website I've came across which describes in details Inphonic fraud operation: http://www.helpwithrebate.com/"
"if you need a place that is easy to get through and not only that but quick, wirefly.com is it. they will even give you the links you can reach right off there emails so you can track your orders ,real quick. if you need accessories for your product ---they know the one to tell you about , you dont have to search for them, they know what you need. i'm going to use them again and some of my family and friends already have ."
"Excellent communication. Seemless transfer of cell phone numbers. Verizon very helpful. Rep at wirefly very nice and helpful.
Only thing was they didn't explain that you can't apply for the rebate for 3 months. "
"I purchased a cell phone from Wirefly along with a phone plan. I was very impressed with the quickness of the shipping. I ordered on a Sunday and within a few hours my package was ready to be shipped. Also the ease of transfering my phone number impressed me. Excellent service and follow up."
