"Ordered 11/15/2007, item showing in stock. Immediately charged my credit card (and settled the next day, not just authorized). E-mail received 2 days later telling me the item was listed at an incorrect price, and that they could sell me the item, but only if I authorized another $100 to my credit card. I advised that was extortion, and they could either ship my item immediately at the price paid or refund my purchase. No response, no credit. Called 7 days later to complain, was told they would issue refund then. 5 days later, still no refund, called back and was told refunds take 7-10 business days to process (!). 4 days later, a credit to my account finally, nearly a MONTH after the original charge. Never again with these people, not worth the hassle."

" The ZipZomFly Online purchase was swift and painless. The price of my purchase was excellent. The item was packaged well and was delivered in excellent condition. (FedEx-Ground)

My only possible 'complaint' would be that the item was purchased on 'SALE' during Black Monday ( the BIG Online sale day!) only to see THAT price then DROPPED the very next day!! ...had it been a week later, I wouldn't have thought a thing about it, but the very NEXT day? It was only a $4 price drop, so I'll get over it....'cuz the price was still GREAT! ...as was their service.

A few days later, I had to call ZZF's customer service about another order. (my issue, not their's) I mentioned the 'sale' price drop. It was all explained to my satisfaction and dealt with, as was the issue that prompted the call.

ZZF may not have 'everything' you may want, but if they do list what you want, the prices are pretty good! And if an item is on SALE, chances are really good that the price will be GREAT!

Online ordering, phone ordering, pricing, packaging and delivery ALL rate an excellent mark! ...I've never had any qualms recommending ZipZoomFly to anyone!

"First the good: an excellent selection of products, which, while not the cheapest prices online, are at least typical of online prices, and you can get all your stuff in one box.


Now the bad:
Enough to make you go to the local Frys instead of ordering online. Returns -- even for DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE -- are subject to a 15% restocking fee. I ordered two sets of matched DDR2-800 modules -- they were supposedly "tested to work in pairs", yet out of my 4 sticks I found only one that would pass a memtest86. But I was penalized 15% for ordering defective merchandise.

But that's not the worst.

This company provides one of the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. The RMA department doesn't answer the phone -- ever -- in 10 calls I made to them. But there's a menu option for them in the phone tree. About 1 out of 10 calls to customer service will get answered. But the problem is you wait on hold for 10 minutes (all the while being assured that the next available agent will answer you) and then YOU ARE DUMPED TO VOICE MAIL. The voice mails that I did leave (and I had two separate RMAs on this nearly $2000 order) were not returned until the third day, so war-dialing them is really the only way to get your return processed at all.

It is experiences like these that make people shy away from ordering online in the first place -- I'd rather deal with the Frys, or even the Best Buy. It would have taken less time to drive 10 miles to the frys, wait in line to make a return, and drive back, than it would have to continually wardial the phone until someone finally answered it and processed my return.

"The store has a good variety of external hard drive enclosures for SATA drives. The prices seemed to be reasonable and better than CompUSA, at least. The enclosure I purchased, which I've not yet tested, is for SATA II, CompUSA does not yet have a SATA II external HD enclosure. I am satisfied with the order process though as a first time customer, my order was not shipped for two days in part, I believe, because they required me to phone in to confirm the order in response to an email. This apparent delay was not mentioned on the web site."

"Terrible experience! These guys have changed a lot since my last purchase there (about 3 years ago).

I ordered an in-stock $54 CPU cooler from them. I used a credit card Paypal payment to get the advertised free shipping. Five days later, they still had not shipped it, despite the fact that my credit card was charged the day after I placed the order. I sent them an e-mail to ask what is happening because I could not put together the new computer without the cooler (all the other components ordered from Newegg and ChiefValue at the same time arrived in 3 or 4 days). They replied at the end of their work day that I have to call a long-distance number to confirm my address, which seemed like a made up reason, since my shipping address, billing address, and Paypal verified address are all the same. I called about 30 minutes after they sent the message to find out nobody was there anymore. I also called twice next morning and left messages on their answering machine. They did not care to return my calls, so I ended up canceling the order online.

That would have been plenty to qualify for a terrible experience, since most computer components come with very short DOA warranties and have to be tested immediately – which I could not do because of the missing part. But it did not stop there. It’s been five days since I cancelled the order and they still have not refunded my money or replied to my Paypal charge dispute, which means they can keep my money for another 10 days before Paypal takes any action. It’s not a big amount, so on one hand, it will not matter that much to me; on the other hand, it shows how creepy this place has become if they depend on borrowing 50 bucks from people for two-to-three-week periods.

"This is the second time i have dealt with ZZF
I Just ordered a CPU for my Sons New computer
my past order was last year when I ordered a total new box for myself
I use Paypal for instant transfer payment and was done with that fairly quickly
my CPU was shipped on the 4th and is now in FED Ex's hands
Free Shipping on 5-7 day shipping which is cool for me will receive my package on the 10th which would be 7 days from my order date
this box I am using now Has been awesome
No Problems with it whatsoever I am one that leaves the computer on all the time
with a restart on occassion for updates
I play games online and have no resource problems either running windows vista
my service has been pretty impressive with ZZF and surely will use them again in the future

"My experience was pretty much the same as all the other recent reviews. I bought a PSU through Zipzoomfly since it was dirt cheap on Black Friday - the rest of my parts were from Newegg and ClubIT (both awesome).

I ordered the part and it was "processing" for a week before they said I needed to have the credit card verified. Newegg also needed verification (I added the alternate address to my credit card on the 24th - wasn't informed by ZZF that I needed verification until the 28th so it's not like they just checked it. They just didn't tell me.), but informed me the same day I ordered it. It was promptly fixed and I got my items on Wednesday. No such luck with ZZF.

I tried calling the number they gave me for verification and ran into the same problems as everyone else: all lines are busy, please leave a callback number. Oops, our mailbox is full. Try back some other time. I tried that a few times (and left my callback info with another department) during the day and eventually decided that emailing might work out better.

I got a call at about 7pm CST (left the messages around 10am CST) and the verification was resolved. This was on a Thursday. My part shipped out late on Friday and it's still not expected to arrive until the 6th of December. That's 10 days to deliver when other companies took 3. Not the end of the world, but I was frustrated.

"I placed an order for an item that was shown to be in stock and was supposedly shipping within 24 hours. My credit card was charged the same day and I received an email stating that my order was being processed.
For the next 3 days i saw no change in my order status and i wrote an email using their contact form as well as leaving a voice mail since i could not get a hold of anyone. No one responded. The next day i called repeatably until i finally reached someone, they said i need to talk to the 'verification department'... there no one ever picked up, it always went straight to the voice mail. So i called the customer service again (and again and again) and when i finally reached some one they asked if i could verify my shipping address.. i did and then they told me the item was out of stock and i had to wait 3 weeks. Even though the item was still shown to be in stock and shipping within 24 hours on their site.
I order from this store specifically because it stated that the item was available and would ship within 24 hours. Without any notification i was simply delayed to the point where the delivery is unacceptably late. I am leaving the country and wanted to bring this along as an x-mas gift but that is now impossible. I feel betrayed and will never ever place an order with this store again.

"Ordered a camera that was listed as 'Usually ships in 24 hours' on 11/29/07. Got an email the next day telling me to call their 'verification' department. That department did not answer and required I leave a message which they did not return. I had to keep calling back to talk with someone. Finally I reached someone who wanted me to print my order and FAX it to them. I did so within 5 minutes of the phone call. On 12/3, I get another 'your order is on hold' email about verification. More speed dialing to (dozens of times) to get a person and they ask me all the same questions, are not sure of whether they received my FAX, and indicated they hadnt done any 'verification' yet. They could not tell me when this process would be complete or if the in demand holiday item was really in stock or still in stock. At this point, after some gut checking, I went online and canceled my order."
