"My first time ordering at Directron.com can only be described as a "hassle". Directron takes fraud seriously, so first time buyers (like myself) were subject to verification. However, when I tried to call customer service to verify my order, the phone number they provided did NOT WORK! So, I was therefore unable to verify my order.
After a couple of back and forth emails, I was finally contacted by a representative who was barely understandable on the phone. He spoke real fast and almost sounded as if he was mumbling. All the rep asked for was my credit card details, which I would have been happy to provide on the order form. Why didn't they ask for that information in the first place? But, regardless, my order was finally verified.
Honestly, I would have ordered though Newegg should I have known how much of a hassle ordering through Directron would have been. If other online retailers can verify my identification without my intervention, why can't Directron?
Update: My order ended up coming one day earlier than expected. The part came well packaged and I'm happy with the purchase.
I still think they need to make the verification process easier. I may purchase from them again if they happen to have the better price. Otherwise, why bother jumping through hoops?"

"This is my fourth order from Directron.com in roughly 5 years; but the first time I'm rating them. I've always been quite pleased w/their service and this last time was no exception. I received an email within 24 hours after placing my order informing me that an item was out of stock, and asking me what I wanted to do. I chose to wait a week to see if the item came in. After a week, they emailed me again to say it didn't come in. I asked that they cancel that item but ship the rest of the order, which they did that very day. "I had ZERO problems when buying from Directron, BUT, NEVER< NEVER have a problem. They advertise, that they have a ONE YEAR WARRANTY on most products. MY ASUS motherboard, HAD that one year warranty. It had a problem with the CPU socket, Pins were noticed to be "STUCK" outside, after CPU was removed to replace heatsink. I called them, they said SURE no problem send it in on an RMA. THEN the problems started. NO emails to tell me what was happening. FORGET trying to call, they are ALWAYS busy, they SAY leave a message and they will call back. AFTER 11 messages on 11 different days NO CALL BACK. Then to EMAIL. THEY REFUSE to answer that ALSO. Finally, I called the SALES department, of course they ANSwered that extension, and I talked the idiot there into transferring me to RMA's. THEN it happened. I COULD NOT get ANYBODY who spoke recognizable ENGLISH. I speak EIGHT languages, and they obviously, spoke ONE, Gibberish! I tried to get an English speaking person NO GOOD. ALL I could get out of this PERSON, was that No Warranty, NO warranty, u get boar bak. NOW, I DON'T know WHERE my board is. NOBODY will answer emails again. AND, I can't get through on PHONE AT ALL. STAY FAR AWAY. STAY VERY FAR AWAY. THERE ARE PLENTLY of Honest places out there, that do NOT put you through this type of crap."
