"We had gotten a phone for our eldest and unfortunately had the screen crack on us. We were able to save the phone using their Fixit product for a new screen and save money on NOT having to buy a new phone. It comes with the screen exactly for what we needed. Works just like new. We've purchases batteries as well and it works amazing. High recommend. "
"The first force touch sensor I bought seemed good, but I had to buy it again because it didn’t realize the battery had swelled. The second touch sensor was packaged well and appeared as good as the original. The battery came with the sticky coating for the bottom. Very happy with the parts I got! "
"Its just not worth the hassle of trying sketchy screens from other manufacturers. The only problem I’ve ever had with iFixit screens is the color accuracy is not the same as Apple’s and the refresh rate looks to be 40 or 50 Hz. Also on this iPhone 7 plus screen the force touch feature was not working. "
"Product was exactly what I needed to repair my damage MacBook Pro display. The process was easy, painless and worth the effort for a DIY repair.
Shipment was quick.and tracking was provided."
"All of my dealings with iFixit have been positive. So far the battery has performed flawlessly. "
"I purchased a replacement display from iFixit and replaced the broken one that was on my phone. Used the instructions on their site, which are excellent. Got it all back together, using the original home button, but the home button refused to work for any of its functions. I had also applied the thin black water resistant gasket - very, very sticky gasket.
Upon trying to remove the display in order to troubleshoot the home button, the gasket gave so much resistance that when the screen and the phone finally separated, the force was so great that it ripped the new display ribbon cables apart :-( Yeah, $70 down the drain.
I ordered another display from iFixit. I removed the home button from the old one, put it on the new one and tested it before assembling the phone, all worked as it should. I assembled the phone and now all is well.
So, what was wrong with the first display? We'll never know, I would have returned it hadn't I broken the ribbon cables. I gave this review a four star rating instead of five due to not knowing if there was an issue with the first display that may have interfered with the proper workings of the home button. I couldn't not imagine what that might be but it is what it is.
I have bought displays, batteries and other parts from iFixit in the past for other phones, I did in fact have a bad display one time and they took it back in exchange for a replacement. When contacting them for help in the past, they have been very understanding and easy to work with. I know I pay more buying from them vs Amazon/ebay but I support what they do and how they do it! I will continue to buy from iFixit."
" It worked for about two weeks and back to not working lol"
"The notorious overtaxed battery shutdown began to plague my phone, which showed about 82% remaining capacity using Apple's battery health report. Installation of the iFixit battery took about 1 hour, taking it slow. Reinstalling the little metal clip securing the the Touch ID cable was the most challenging part. The repair guide is excellent.
I'm up and running again, with 100% capacity, according to the Coconut Battery app. (Since the iFixit battery doesn't have Apple's propriety battery assessment electronics, Apple battery health report isn't available - though the battery works just fine otherwise.)
I’ve replaced a number of parts on both laptops and phones with iFixit parts and tools. The quality has always been high. Only once did I have an issue - a battery that failed prematurely. iFixit immediately sent a replacement. They remain my Go To outfit for repairs."
"When my case was warping on my 15” MacBook Pro (Late 2013), I thought it was done for; I didn’t believe iI would be able to find an OEM battery. I was wrong, and glad I was!
I did this way faster than Apple ever could for me. The tools provided made the task very simple. "
"Got what I ordered and the screwdrivers work great. "
"I was repairing my iPhone 7 and after receiving two bad screens from other suppliers, i decided to get one from iFixIt. The package got lost in the mail and they were kind enough to send out a replacement shipment with two day shipping!
I was able to replace my screen. This screen fixed two issues I had with the other screens, my home button now works and the colors on it seems correct compared to the other two.
However, I did also have some issues with the screen after repairing and during the repair. First, during the repair the tools provided didn’t seem to exactly fit the screws in the phone. They ended up being either slightly bigger or slightly smaller (this was a very minor issue as they would still usable, but just made it a little difficult to completely tighten)
Another issue during my repair was the screen adhesive. At the side, it wasn’t straight as it bent inwards a little bit making it impossible to light up correctly. I ended up having to use tweezers to try and put the adhesive in place and remore parts that ended up balling up.
After I finally got the screen back on, force touch wasn’t reliable. I didn’t seem to recognize any force. I was able to press down so hard that it caused that weird light effect. But I got it to work in some areas some times by changing how my finger pressed on the screen, but in other areas force touch wouldnt work at all. This is only a minor issue for me right now as I dont use force touch that often.
Overall the service was great and the issues fixed outweighed the issues created."
"I ordered a replacement battery for my vintage Apple Mini iPod. Using a YouTube video, I replaced the battery. There appeared to be no charge in the battery at all, so calibration was impossible. Thinking that the battery had no charge,I plugged it in to the charger to see what would happen. The screen indicated that the battery was charging, so I let it charge for 6-7 hours. Then, I unplugged the charger, and the iPod would not function - not even a warning that the battery was low.
The battery is made in China - surprise! I will not deal with iFixit again. Extremely disappointed."
"I got the adhesive to fix my gen 1 Apple Watch. It would never come off the blue backing. It rendered it useless. I specifically cane to iFix it because I thought they would have a better product than other retailers. Sadly this left a bad taste in my mouth and I have to look elsewhere to fix my Apple Watch. "
"The cable that was sent worked in the end, but two of the screw holes were about 1.5mm away from where they were on the cable I was replacing. As a result, the cable couldn’t be screwed in, but is instead pinned in by the hard drive and hard drive bracket. A little frustrating, but so far the cable has worked regardless. "
"We selected next day delivery. iFixit system completed the order. Yet our copy of the order did not indicate whether it was being shipped next day or not. So we immediately contacted iFixit right after we placed the order. We left multiple voice messages as well as email. They never contacted as we requested. We stated the issue was urgent and that we needed the product next do to complete the repair for our client. Again they never responded. We reached out to iFixit again and they never responded. The product didn't arrive as we ordered. It arrived too late to do the repair and we lost our clients business. As I warned iFixit, this would happen so please respond. iFixit customer service is horrible. Never called us back, even though their recording stated they would get back to us. It has been over 10 days and no call, no response. "
