"As soon as you open the box and are presented with a hundred different bits with no markings at all, or markings that only non-humans can read, you doubt every good thing you've heard about the company. Talk about utter disappointment...

I would return this for the Universal Bit Kit box with legible printing on it, but with return shipping costs etc. I'd be afraid I'd just be throwing good money after bad.

There were some hiccups in replacement, but the videos were very descriptive and comments covered the mishaps that I ran into. I ultimately had to improvise a bit, but the toolset provided was more than adequate."

"Overall the kit was good. Disappointing some of the product was not as described. I got a very cheap Rosewill SSD tray instead of the pictured Icy Dock ssd tray. Price is a bit steep with what they charge for the ssd. The tools are nice and they did the job. Surprised Ifixit would use low end low quality part in this kit. "

"I’m giving this 3 stars because the repair advice was incomplete. I seen many videos on how to swap out drives and none of them said anything about making a cloned, bootable drive. As a novis I lucked out and stumbled on a video of someone doing it. I then dug around ifixit website and found a video too. I did CCC and super duper as those were options I found. I ended up doing that multiple times in order to get a bootable drive as I seen multiple ways to format it, everyone has a different opinion on what’s best. With a bootable SSD in hand I go for the tear down, 2 issues with that; the HDD in my Mac mini was more similar to the server edition, so I had to remove the logic board. 2 The tool set that came with this repair didn’t include the logic board removal tool. I then have to put it back together and order that tool. My point is there was some missing info/ tool that would have been helpful to know/have when going into this fix. The SSD is way faster than my HDD so that’s great and the tools are great too, just missed 1 important tool. The tutorial should have ALL the infor for doing this, start to finish. That would have been very helpful for me. Thanks"
