"I was visiting the states and i needed to get some video equipment before i headed back to the UK as they cost much more here so instead of shopping at a local store of where i was staying i decided to to do an online search for the camcorder i needed.

I was a nervous as i needed my Video camera fairly quickly as i was on a tight schedule, So i called in and expressed the urgency of how fast i needed the package.

After reading some negative feedback i was in a bit of a panic so i called them and told them of my concerns i was re assured that my video camera would be to me on time before i headed back to the UK.

My package did arive on time as there website, and rep had stated with a day to spare all the items were in tact.


Overall they had Great customer service, there site was very easy to navigate through the order process was very easy and the shipping was surprisingly fast for this time of year.

"After I purchased the Canon 7D two days later I get a phone call to "confirm the order" Then they say by the way you don't want a battery with your purchase? I say well of course I do one should come with it. Then I am told I purchased an import model that doesnt come with anything. Classic bait and switch by a cheap internet company. I canceled order immediately and went back online and looked at my purchase, no where did it state import model that does not come with anything. "i placed and order with Overstockdigital.com for the first time and boy can i tell you ive never dealt with a company who is so knowledgeable about the products as well as patient and willing to do everything to make sure there customers every needs are met.


Iam not new to photography ive been buying photo equipment for many many yeas,
but iam new to online shopping as i usually get my camera gear from my local camera shop.

For me this was a new experience so i did not want to just place my order on line so i called in to first inquire about there company and also because the price was really really good so i was a bit skeptic at first.


The rep i had spoke with to place my order was extremely nice and did not rush me off the phone (keep in mind i asked ALOT of questions) i felt very comfortable and gave my credit card info and placed my order.

The rep did go over all the different types of accessories and bundle specials that they had going on i would have loved to add the items he was offering but i explained that i already had the accessories and that i was really just looking for the camera, but i did thank him for his efforts.

The rep gave me the order number and wished me a happy holidays.


My order was shipped out the same day i ordered it and i received a ups tracking number, a couple days after placing the order my new slr was in my hands.



I normally dont leave feedback but i was really treated very nicely by Overstockdigital.com and i thought every should know about my great experience.

I sure will be back when im ready to do my christmas shopping.

"I ordered a video camera from OverstockDigital. From the web page it was the full retail product with battery and charger; nothing led me to believe otherwise. About 2 days later I got the "call to confirm order" e-mail which I knew would be an up-sell, but I called anyway. Sure enough, they tried to peddle a bunch of crap I didn't want, and when I said I didn't need a battery 'cause the camera comes with one, the guy on the phone said that the standard battery will only last 30 minutes, so there was an implication that the kit included a battery. I still didn't see a shipping confirmation e-mail, so I called, only to learn that the camera I ordered will take 2-3 weeks to come from Japan and that it's the wholesale model without battery or power cable. However, the friendly sales guy offered to sell me the retail camera and knock $200 bucks off the price, plus pay for expedited shipping. It's a classic BAIT AND SWITCH scheme, but before I could cancel the order I received confirmation at it had shipped and I'm out an addition $300 on the deal.
All I can say is that these guys are patently dishonest and I will never buy anything from them again.

NOV 19: After posting the above, the sales guy did call back and expressed sincere concern about my unhappiness. He then asked "what would it take to get 5 stars?" Bad business practices cannot be overcome by bribery in this mans book. However, the concern appeared to be more for the public reputation on this (and other) sites than for a customer who felt mistreated. I even referred the sales guy to their web site, and pointed out "ships in 1-2 days" and "LIon battery and AC charger" in the description, but as you can read from their response, they still hold that I ordered the "wholesale" body-only camera.

Also, beware: One thing they offered when fleecing me out of an additional $300 was "expedited shipping" at no charge. I'm thinking "next day air", but what they provided for a free (a $39 value) was "UPS ground". The $39 is clearly BS; I shipped a larger, heavier box farther for $15."
