"I placed an order online--giving them my credit card number and everything they needed to mail my purchase. I get an email asking for me to call them (I had a bad feeling this was to pressure me into upgrading or making other purchases and I was right). Like an idiot, I got the higher priced item and they tacked on a fee for insurance ($18.95) that was never mentioned. I called and tried to cancel the order and was given the run-around, then transferred back to John (the agent who sold me the higher priced item). He was a little rude and very pushy. I have never dealt with an online merchant who applied pessure like this--their website has no way to cancel an order and the actual order has no details whatsoever about the purchase and added costs. I am very upset with Overstockdigital!

Update: Received an email from Overstock Digital customer service and called them as requested--spoke to John again and he was much better this time, so I give him an A+ for that. They matched the price for the camera lens that was on a competitor's site and said that it would be mailed today. So, I am changing my rating accordingly. I did appreciate the fact that the cared about me being a satisfied customer."

"I ordered a Nikon 16-35mm f/4 lens from their website. It was listed as "usually ships in 1-2 days". I received an order confirmation and a request to call to confirm shipping address since it was different than billing address. I appreciate the security precaution, but I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes to complete this simple task. At the end of our conversation, the gentleman on the call told me my item would go out later that day. By the end of the next day I had received no shipping confirmation, so I sent an e-mail asking the status of the order. (Incidentally, no order status was provided on their website.) That was Thursday night. I did not receive a response. I called back on Monday. I was told the item was on backorder and wouldn't be available for 3-6 weeks. I canceled the order and asked for an e-mail confirmation. I have not yet received it. This same day the item is listed on their website as shipping in "1-2 days". This is obviously inaccurate.

Ordinarily I might think this was a simple mistake, but this lens is in high demand and short supply. I suspect intentional deception. Given my generally poor customer service experience, I recommend others avoid this merchant."

"Never shipped…No updates…My order dead in water.

I placed an order on July 13th and got the confirmation. Then I received an e-mail that I needed to call to confirm my order(!!??). I did call them and they didn’t tell me anything about back order. I sent them an email after 10days and I was told the items are on back order for 4-6 weeks. I thought the seller should and will know about the back order as soon as they receive an order. Anyways here I am after 7 weeks I didn’t receive my order till today and no updates from the seller. They have my credit card number and I don’t know this is legitimate company.

I just send an email to them to cancel my order.

After writing this review, I was contacted by a customer service agent who filled my order as expected. I'll update this review once again after I receive my items.

"They had a really good price on a Canon Canon Speedlite 430EX II. Was sent an email the day after ordering online saying I had to call to confirm the order. Why? So they could upsell the order. When I called to confirm my order they tried to sell me additional items, but I declined. After being put on hold and transferred 3 times repeating the same thing. They said fine and would process my order. They said it would ship out the next day.

When I never received a tracking number, several days later I called again for a tracking number, they said the flash was on a 4-6 week backorder. On their website still says instock.

At this point he tried to sell me the "USA" version of the flash, instead of the grey market import. WHAT?! I had no idea I had ordered a grey market flash. The webpage said "USA Warranty". I asked why the webpage didn't mention that it was an "import" lens and was transferred then hungup on.

I was called to resolve the problems above and was shipped the USA retail version for the same price. Item was shipped two day to make up for the issues above. Received the item but then was charged more than I agreed too.

Contacted again to say they would adjust the price back to what was agreed upon."

"Initially received the wrong lens, I called and spoke with Harry, and explained to him my situation...I opened the box the day before we were to celebrate my wife's birthday, and this was to be her present, Harry, stepped right up and took care of me beyond my expectations, he took it upon himself to overnight me the correct lens so that I could present it to my wife.
