"This is the first RMA I have had to do. These guys were great. I really was prepared for the worst because I bought the MB (msi kt3 ultra 2) in october 2002. I was building a system and was not in a hurry and I did not get around to installing the MB until December. there was nothing!!! (no power) I thought maybe I had a bad PS so by the time I borrowed another PS it was January again nothing. Finally...the first week of March (3 weeks ago) I asked for an RMA to Z-BUY and explained why I had had it for four months and was just getting to it. I told myself if they turned me down I was just going to shrug because of my slowness and stupidity. These guys had a replacement board back to me in 2 weeks. I am very pleased!!!!"

"These people sent me a damaged OEM processor and motherboard then REFUSED to replace them through their standard RMA procedure. They accused me of damaging their products that they improperly packaged and shipped. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. I am currently in the process of suing them in small claims court. I also initiated a pricewatch and BBB complaint. I suggest you do the same if you have been burned by this company! All because they wouldn't replace $100 worth of crappy parts."

"In fairness my transaction went OK (my second good one). I had some reservations about the way the item was advertised on PriceWatch.com (Samsung RAM was actually Samsung Chips on No-name PCB... but the RAM works so OK) But some of the problems listed here are compelling. I would urge Z-buy to respond to these complaints, otherwise it will be difficult for me to consider buying from them in the future. "

"After 4 business days, I find my credit card has been charged. However, no tracking number, and no response from email to their only published query channel, ****@****

Update: Finally received order after 8 business days. When memory did arrive, it was incorrect. It was ECC, but not registered. The item description was accurate as far as it went, but was incomplete. I emailed z-buy about their lack of description. They offered to exchange, but want a $10 restocking fee. I wish I had checked other entries here before placing my order. I would advise anyone considering ordering from this company to reconsider!

"OK, I have to repost this because from September 2001 to March 2002 it was removed. This is in regards to a Supermicro 370SSA Motherboard and the actions of the tech support, and management of Z-buy.com I had to sue them and got a Court Judgment clearly ordering them to pay the court clerk the judgment within 30 day’s. After waiting for more than 30 days I filed a complaint online at Pricewatch.com. In response Donald at Z-buy.com made repeated claim to not only having made payment, but, making it twice (without explaining why twice) and claiming that they had some Merchant Bank paperwork to prove this. I’ve checked the only account I have for both the payments claimed and there were no such payments. I’ve asked three separate times for copies of this paperwork and all three were ignored or unanswered. I am disabled and now forced to go to more expense to file further action in local court to force them to prove this (I don’t believe they can) or pay the judgment, to the court with interest as ordered. Perhaps this time I can get a warrant/body attachment and they will pay while Donald is in jail.

Please everyone “Do Not Buy From Z-Buy.com”. Clearly they don’t respect the law and courts and will not follow the clear courts order to pay the judgment. So, if the product goes bad or you have a problem your screwed. Further, they dont respond very well to emails about anything after the sale.

"This company is unreliable to say the least. I ordered a specific memory module for a server. Not only did I have to wait a week for the memory to arrive (even though I live less than 10 miles from them), they shipped the wrong memory stick and tried to recharge a restocking fee. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Thank you"

"2 weeks ago, I made a purchase through their web site, I was skeptical, because of the varying opinions I've heard about them, regardless I ordered PC2700 DDR. I was emailed the confirm-ation and shipping tracking within 72 hours. I then turned around after I was satisfied with their pricing, delivery, and product, and ordered more merchandise. "I just thought I would post about my experience with z-buy.com.

I ordered a Pentium 4 2.4 533bus and a stick of Samsung DDR333 memory 512MB.

I ordered by mail with a money order, and the order went smoothly. I live in NY and they are stationed in NJ, so it only took a day or so for the payment to reach. After they got the money order, they processed it the same same.

I ordered Samsung memory, but I recieved an e-mail at the same time they were processing that they didn't have it, but they had Micron memory for the same price and if I'd like to switch. I agreed, but when the order finally came, it wasn't Micron memory, it was Crucial brand memory, which in my opinion, is a lot better.

Anyway, even though they shipped from NJ to NY on 2/14/2003, I didn't receive the order until 2/19/2003! It wasn't their fault though. They shipped on Friday, and FedEx doesn't move packages under the Express Saver delivery method on Saturdays. On top of that, there was a HUGE snow storm that hit the East Coast. We got about 20 inches in Brooklyn alone. I was surprised, however, about the fact that FedEx was moving the package on the following Monday which was a holiday, President's Day.

Anyway, all I can say is I recieved what I ordered and it works because I'm on my new computer finally. (Only problems I'm having with it is my modem won't let me connect to AOL 50% of the time, but I think that has more to deal with WindowsXP-- shame on you Microsoft!)

I still ordered from z-buy.com despite all the warnings here and I was a little bit worried because of the reviews even after I placed an order. I don't know why they got so many bad reviews. Maybe I was one of the lucky people who had an order go smoothly instead of wrong, or maybe they just had some problems in the beginning and they've got their act together. Or it might be because I ordered with a money order? There was a guy who left a comment about ordering by money order from California(can't get more west than that), and got his harddrive in 3 days and working.

Anyway, I'd probably order from them again if I need something that I don't want to pay retail prices for.


A word of advice for people buying motherboards and harddrives over the internet:

I wouldn't reccomend doing such! =P

I'm a rookie at building PCs and the one I'm using right now is the first one I've ever built, but even I realize how fragile harddrives and motherboards can be.
My advice to you is to buy your motherboards or harddrives from a walk-in retail store, or even better, a store that will install it for you in your PC right there before your eyes so you and them both can see and make sure it's running. They'll do this sort of thing for you at CompUSA. You may have to pay retail and an expense for parts and labor, but you'll get a PC that actually works.

You can also try computer shows. I bought the harddrive I'm using as OEM from a computer show. Just make sure the vendor offers a return/exchange policy and gives you a professional business receipt with their store name, address, and phone number on it.
