"They told me my order was a price mistake, yet shipped out a different item anyway (wrong item of course). I refused delivery and now they won't charge back my card. TOTAL SCAM!! Head all the warnings - this company is dishonest and just plain lousy."

"I purchased a hand-held DVR that failed after 2 hours of operation. Ebuyer demands I go through their user-hostile website to file for an RMA and I've been waiting for several days for an answer. I used their "enotes" in a communication attempt, and they seem to ignore those also. My only resort is to do a chargeback to Mastercard. This place has pretty good prices, but is not worth the aggravation if customer service is required. I will never buy from these bumbling bureaucrats again!"

"This company is a total scam. I ordered a Belkin 1200VA UPS for a price of $100 + shipping as listed on their site when there were 6 in stock. They had a "check live stock" button under the item which I of course checked and then placed the order. I look on my credit card and I see that they carged me for it which means that the item shipped ( if you know the law you know that an online retailer CANNOT charge a credit card without the item actually have shipped out) Today (8-16) I get an e-mail saying I cancelled the order which is complete BS. I call them up and find out that they SAY they credited back my charge ( which was illegal to charge in the first place because NO item EVER shipped) and they have no idea why the order was cancelled and furthermore they tell me that if I want to reorder the item then I have to go place a NEW order over the web. I go on the web and guess what..the item is out of stock!!! I then do a search for the same item by MFR model and guess what...ther item pops up again! THIS TIME under a different sku and is $ 30 more than what I paid!!! The rep on the phone didn't do squat for me and basically they are a bait and swith scam artist company that I will NEVER shop from again. Furthermore, I will be reporting them to the BBB and FTC for their unscrupulous business practices and of course charging back the purchase on my credit card. Scam stores like this should go dowm in flames"

"Overall, the transaction went very smoothly. Good price, the order arrived within a couple of days. Two things I would note though. The quality of the packing wasn't particularly impressive. While some retailers will put your order into a packing peanuts-filled box (even if the product itself comes in a padded box), this company put my order into a simple heavy duty envelope, no packing material whatsoever. Granted, the item is sealed in a heavy duty plastic package and it was fine when I opened it up, but I would have still liked to have seen some more care taken to protect my order. Second note (and this is a problem with many retailers who use USPS instead of FedEx, and is therefore more of an FYI than a complaint). If your order gets shipped using USPS, then the tracking number that eBuyer sends you is essentially useless. USPS appears to be very bad about providing detailed/up-to-date info about the location/status of packages. In my case, my order arrived before there had been even a single update on the USPS tracker (it was stuck on "we have been informed to expect a package from eBuyer" or something similar). Conclusion: If I found the best price for something I needed at eBuyer, then I would buy it from them. They seem like a fairly reputable retailer and would probably replace something fairly quickly if it was DOA (e.g. due to poor packing practices...)."

"UPS smashed up my shipment pretty good. I had it sent back, and when I contacted their customer support, a friendly helpful American girl processed my return info wihtout any hassles. No funny accents, misunderstandings, or having to repeat things. Fast and friendly customer support. So, with that and their generally hot prices, I'd buy from them again, and I reccommend them pretty highly."

"great prices, easy to deal with. I kind of like the e-note thing, it keeps a thread of messages, which soemtimes gets lost. I ordered 2 dvd players for a road trip. Their inventory showed 3 in stock, so I sent an e-note asking if the inventory was accurate. This was at about 11:30 pm on Saturday. I went ahead and placed my order anyway, and got a message monday morning saying that they were sorry, there was only 1 unit in stock. I explained that the reason there was only one left was because I bought the other 2. It make me feel good to see an online inventory that is accurate. Anyway, Igot my dvd players today, July 15, 5 days earlier than they projected. Now if I can just keep the kids out of them until the trip..."

"I order XM2Go on the website and paid 2nd day air. 2nd day arrived didn't receive package. Called & I was told they sent an email stating the problem was billing vs shipping address. No email and they had a sh*tty attitude on the phone toward me calling. After it was all said & done, the overnighted the package, but I still missed it because they requested me sign for the package. Trip to UPS dist center. XM2Go - awesome...Ebayer - needs help!"

"Like many others I have been well satisfied with this company, both in prices and delivery. But like others, when things go wrong, I've discovered that it can be very frustrating. I recently ordered parts to build a new computer. However they sent the wrong motherboard (an Abit AG8, whereas I ordered an Abit AG8-3rd Eye). I returned it immediately. I was then told that it would take fifteen working days for a replacement to be sent out. When I queried this I was told that Ebuyer does not actually stock most items - they seem to be a kind of "agent" for the resellers - and it is the resellers who update the Ebuyer pages with the amount of stock that is held, and it is the resellers who insist on making the replacement - and specify the fifteen working days. In practice this amounts to about three calendar weeks, more if there are any bank holidays. So I waited patiently. After fifteen days no replacement was forthcoming. In fact, on the fifteenth day the item was actually removed from Ebuyer's web site! At this point I asked for a refund. As I managed to source the motherboard elsewhere at a cheaper price I told Ebuyer to just refund the cost of the motherboard and I would forget the £6.95 that it cost me to send the mobo back. I was pleased that, within a week, Ebuyer refunded not only the cost of the motherboard but also the £6.95 that I had told them to forget! I have to say that I had no problem in communicating with Ebuyer. All my enotes were answered, most within a few hours and all within 36 hours. And so, I would agree with another poster that, if something goes wrong, the simplest, quickest and most effective solution is to ask for a refund and then re-order. I have made many purchases from Ebuyer and this is the only time something has gone wrong. Now that I know how their system works - and how to get redress as quickly as possible - I shall probably use them again."

"Simply miserable: a Father's day gift ordered on June 12th, using 2nd day air, with a delivery date of June 15th that never arrived. The only information available on the web site was "pick in progress" (whatever that means). Without mentioning the product, let's just say it is one that is readily available from a number of merchants including the likes of OfficeMax, Staples, and Walmart. Subsequent to the order with Ebuyer, I noticed that Office Depot even has these things available for next day delivery at about the same price. The worst thing, IMHO, is the fact that, at this point, there isn't even a way to cancel the order. Since it appears to have be drop-shipped or something, the "cancel order" button on the Ebuyer website is greyed-out. So now it's a matter of sitting and waiting for the item to arrive and only God knows when that will happen (don't even have a tracking number yet). Pathetic service and a big disappointment. No one in our household will be ordering from these people again, that's for sure."

"Horrible customer service. On 5/14/05, i ordered 2 Lexar 2GB compact flash cards. Their website had 10 in stock. Confirmation of order received immediately but no tracking number for 4 days. I call, they say it shipped direct from their warehouse but wasn't/won't be scanned till it reaches my town. On 5/23 i call again- no pkg, no tracking number. They say their warehouse was out of stock but didn't notify them. They say they will o/n the units to them in AZ and then o/n them to me (distribution restrictions since i live in CA where Lexar's HQ is). I was going to cancel & go with another vendor since i need the cards for the 3day Memorial Day holiday. They say they can o/n deliver once they receive the cards. Well, the bozos ended up sending them UPS ground so i won't see the cards for another 6 days - making it a total of 3weeks since they charged my card. Its partly my fault from not canceling the order after the initial delay and letting them try to 'fix' their problem. Never again, let my experience help you avoid grief. I will never order from them again."
