"I ordered two products, a tea infuser and soap nuts. I cancelled my Amazon Prime membership, so I was worried about the time it would take to get my order when I chose the free shipping option. Both products arrived within 7 days, so I was pretty happy with the shipping time considering it was free. "
"Price Gouging! A kindle ebook should not cost as much as a paperback! When I bought my Kindle, ebooks were almost half the price of the hard cover or paperback version. I am getting rid of my Kindle if I can have the paperback version of a book for the same price."
"Amazing deals and fast shipping combined with their excellent reputation for customer service allows me to shop with confidence."
"Is it just me or is Amazon's service deteriorating? I've had an issue with several orders lately with Amazon. Supposedly, I was to receive a package containing 3 study materials within 2 days (since I have Amazon Prime). They lost the package and didn't even bother to inform me! I had to go to Live Chat to see what was up and now they're telling me they're re-ordering it for me! Had I had needed the books in a timely manner, I would have been much more upset.
If I wanted my shipments to get lost in transit and waste time researching the issue myself, I would've ordered the books from China. I might have had a better chance of receiving them by now if I did.
Secondly, they send me a shoddy product and when I order the replacement, they tell me that it's delivered and that I will "receive no more updates about this product" when it hasn't even been delivered!!! After talking to live chat, I'm to find out that it's with the USPS and that it'll be delivered to me within a few days. Basically, I figured out that their tracking service was their way of tracking the package only to my local post office. Is the post office going to pay for the item too? Is this Amazon's way of cutting corners when they estimate a shipping date?
Needless to say, I will NOT be renewing my Amazon Prime subscription. I would have never subscribed to Amazon Prime if I had known that "2" day shipping sometimes means 4 or 5."
"Love Amazon, bought a bunch of lightning deal stuff and it all shipped right away. Very pleased with this company."
"Amazon does a good job if you buying directly from them, but does a terrible job of managing their third party sellers. Twice I ordered from third party sellers on the Amazon site (Ace Photo Digital and Beach Camera) and had nothing but problems. I got charged a higher then advertised price from Ace and ordered an item from Beach Camera that was advertised as in stock but wasn't. When I went to Amazon customer support, I was told that I needed to contact the seller directly which I did and did not receive a reply. Going forward I will not buy anything from third party sellers on the amazon Site"
"Always a great expirience at amazon"
"Amazon + Prime is golden, Amazon without prime, is just above average when it comes to online retailers. It is both annoying, and a bonus in how Amazon adjusts their product prices so frequently. Sometimes you end up screwed, and sometimes you end up with a great deal. They used to price match but they gave up on that which is kind of lame, I never understood what a retailers logic is, if I am still within my time frame to return an item and repurchase it elsewhere then it just makes everyone happier if you price match the item. No return shipping costs for either party. As long as I have prime though I will probably always frequent Amazon as the shipping speed and prices are top notch. "
"I recently had the misfortune of trying to purchase a coat on Amazon this past Friday. I tried to purchase two Michael Kors Men's Button-Front Coats. However, there was an error with their system and I was not allowed to purchase the coats. Amazon acknowledged the error on their part and told me that someone would get back to me. Their response was as follows: "We recently learned you may not have been able to take advantage of a limited-time Lightning Deal on Black Friday due to technical issues on the Amazon.com website, so we would like to offer you an Amazon.com promotional credit of $5.00 on your next Amazon.com purchase." So they admit that it was their fault and instead of purchasing a coat that retailed for $395 and was on sale for $99, I was offered instead a $5 credit, not to be used for electronics and it will expire on 12/2/2011. A good store would make it right and allow me to go ahead and make the purchase. An average store would apologize for the incident and state they are trying to ensure it never happens again. A terrible retailer would respond the way Amazon did and insult their customers. Really, $5 and restrict when and what you can use it on. Just terrible."
"This store is dishonest with there "free super saver" shipping option. The terms fail to explain that they will sit on your order anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks before it even ships, especially if they are busy.
My experience is that it ships same day when selecting the much more expensive 2 day shipping option. It sure seems like this store is trying to push people into signing up for the huge revenue boosting $79 prime membership.
The kicker was that when I called for the most recent order after 48 hours of waiting for it to ship, customer service could not even provide a estimate of when it would ship. Well guess what Amazon, your tactics do not work on me. I just took my current $370 worth of buisness and as well as future orders somewhere else. "
"Not my first order and I have always been pleased. Very quick delivery."
"BEWARE. Amazon.com allows their third party sellers to participate in unethical business practices. My order was placed through Amazon on a saturday evening to an item a third party seller had listed. The price had been dropping all day long and I finally decided to place an order. The order was accepted. Sunday morning I get an email saying the order was cancelled, the item was out of stock. Went back to Amazon to purchase from another seller and found the exact same item for sale by the same seller. Only difference was the price was now $5 more! Contacted customer service about this issue but was told there was nothing could be done. To make matters even worse, once my order was cancelled, it was like there was no record of the transaction at all at Amazons website so I couldn't even rate the seller who performed this unethical behavior."
"UPDATE: 11/28/11 1830 PM. I received a call at home tonight from a VERY courteous and helpful customer service rep. The long and short of it is they are making things right. He completely agreed with me and said they certainly could make an exception since I'd contacted them prior to my warranty's expiration. They are sending me a new Kindle 3 free of charge with two day shipping. What a night and day difference from my earlier experience. I'm definitely much happier about the company now and can on e again fully recommend Amazon and their Kindles.
I strongly encourage you, don't buy an e-reader from Amazon! Their customer service and support really stinks. I bought a Kindle 3 3G last November from a big box store. While the reading/shopping experience was very good overall, the quality/durability of the Kindle leaves something to desire. A couple of months ago, my Kindle 3 developed a growing crack in the plastic frame located at the lower right corner of the screen (I have a nice cover and never dropped/damaged it). I also started experiencing random lock-ups, freezes, and crashes along with unexplained page jumps to sections of the book I've not yet read (very annoying to re-find your place again). I finally contacted Amazon customer support on Nov. 11th, a full 8 days before my one year warranty expired. I received an email response from a customer service rep whose primary language clearly isn't English (full of typos and odd phrasing). The rep assured me, "In this situation, we can replace the Kindle for you." The rep then asked that I take the additional step to reach Amazon via chat or phone by going to a website link he/she referenced in the email. Problem was, I had limited computer access as I'd just sold my desktop and was waiting for my new Dell laptop top to arrive. Believing that I had properly submitted a warranty request to Amazon and having received assurances that they would replace my Kindle, I didn't rush to follow the added steps to actually call Amazon. A week long Thanksgiving week trip followed and I finally was able to complete the warranty process by calling Amazon today (11/28/11). Imagine my chagrin when after being repeatedly placed on prolonged hold, the customer service rep informed me that since I was now OUT OF WARRANTY, I would have to pay $85.00 to get my factory defective Kindle 3 replaced/repaired! Yes, even though I had filed a written warranty repair request over a week before my one-year warranty expired and received written confirmation in return, they were splitting hairs that I had not actually called customer service back to complete the process in time. Now that I was 9 days past the warranty expiration date, they were not going to honor it. I spent 46 minutes on the phone including with her supervisor, and got the same company line answer: their system would now not let them replace my Kindle under warranty since I was past the expiration date. There was nothing they could do, no matter how high up I took this grievance, and no exceptions could be made. Period. Obviously, I'm livid. The email assuring me they would honor my warranty contained no deadline or time line. This is just another example of the big companies screwing over the little man. It's all about the money to them. Ironically, Amazon's original response email to me ends with: "Your feedback is helping us build Earth's Most Customer-Centric Company." What a crock! So, I guess I'll have to pursue litigation to get them to do the right thing...and announce the truth at every blog or review site I can find. ~A highly dissatisfied customer."
"Been buying from them forever. They screwed up my last purchase but made it right after a phone call."
"OK good shopping site~ I'm so happy with the result!
I'm very statisfied!"
