"Amazon is great! Love shopping there. No shady tactics like just about every other retailer out there. Customer service is the best of all online companies I have dealt with. Had a little trouble with email communications in the past but jumping onto live chat (as easy as email) got things sorted out very quickly. Returns are super easy. We don't return much but when I have, Amazon has picked up return shipping just because I didn't like something.

"I ordered a cat6 belkin cable from one of the stores on amazon.com and this store sent me some other brand that was not even close to what the brand I ordered was. It was much lighter and a lot less all the way around.I paid $18.00 for 1 14ft cable you would think they could send what I ordered. Do not use amazon and save yourself some time and money. You will not get what you order. USE NEWGG.COM and you will get what you ordered and you will pay alot less shipping than with amazon.com. Think it over befor you order and use a store you can trust. Amazon.com is not it. I know I have had more than one issue with them and they do not turn out in your favor very much of the time.Like 1 out of 6 times for me and all I wanted was what I ordered not some other off brand crap and in the time I paid for it to be shipped to me. 2 Day shipping with newegg is you get it in 2 days from the day you order it.With amazon you get it when they want to ship it to you and what ever brand they have on hand it dose not count what the adds say about the brands you order. You may get it but I would not count on it. This is what I have found trying to use amazon so think it over befor you order and just use newegg the first time. It will save you time and money.
*****ADDED AFTER I FILED A CLAIM WITH AMAZON*********It is now 6/19/2011 and I did get a refund on this order but you see how long it did take to get it.****(SATISFACTION4U)was the name of the store I ordered from and I can tell you to stay away from this store.They have not sent me the right item even after they sent an e-mail saying they would if I removed the bad review on amazon's site.I have not and will not until they send me what I ordered and paid for. It is sad I can not trust the stores on amazon to be like amazon is.AMAZON seems to try and do the right thing but takes way to much time doing it.Just trying to make the stores do it right the first time would work for me.The most upsetting part of all this is the store still has it listed as belkin on the amazon add today.What I was sent was not even close to a belkin brand item it is much much lighter.So I will have to tell you to just go to newegg.com and get it the first time.It will save you time and money.Someone should fix this and other issues with amazon befor this stuff runs it into the ground.I will not be ordering anything from amazon ever again.Think it over befor you order and use a store that will get it right the first time like newegg.com.

"I've been a loyal customer of Amazon until now. They advertise to give a free next-day shipping for the purchase of a high-priced GPS. I ordered on Thursday with the hope of getting it on Friday, as advertised/promised, for my upcoming trip in the weekend. Everything seems to be on tracked on my order until Friday comes. They emailed me on Friday and say that it will not be delivered until the following week. They should have let me know on Thursday that they can't make it to my house by Friday so that I have the time to hunt for a different deal from other websites!!! Or may be they should have advertised as "Free 5-day shipping!!!" to make it more accurate of how they handle their shipping & handlings.
Now I know why such a big website like Amazon does not ACTIVELY participate here."
"I've been a customer at Amazon for longer than I can remember. This is the first time I've ever taken part in a promotion and I purchased a laptop that qualified for the free Xbox for Amazon Student members. I discovered that they use every excuse in the book to try and keep you from getting something that valuable for free. First they told me that because of the time difference (my order was placed 5/25 at 1AM, their computer said 5/24) my order didn't qualify, then they said that I needed to actually BUY the Xbox, then receive a voucher (which is NOT stated on the terms and conditions site). I'm finally glad to say that after speaking to about 15 different people, the Xbox is on its way.
My opinion of Amazon is still high. I've never had a problem with them. My gripe is with the customer service department and not having a dynamic system to follow through with customer issues. There's no "support ticket" to follow and no names given so you can speak to the same rep twice. I might be living in a fantasy land but something like this for a company so big would be great. The generic responses and melancholy attitude would almost certainly turn away someone who isn't as determined to make the company stand behind their promotions."

"bought battery from 3rd party (brainydeal.com) through amazon.com. after 14 months it failed to recharge. was 2 mo beyond warranty, but a 9 cell lithium-ion should last much longer. it was only recharged about 7 times. neither retailer would help event though obviously was a defective battery."
