"The display cover was an exact replacement. Looks great on my 7+ year-old (vintage 2013) LG fridge, Model LFX31945ST/02. When it was new, I had mistakenly tried to peel off the clear plastic film that's on the icemaker/dispenser control panel Display Cover, thinking that it was supposed to be removed. Wrong! For all those years, I tolerated the nasty-looking display with the plastic film partially peeled off. I finally decided to look into replacing it. The cost of the replacement was more than I had hoped, but I bit the bullet and ordered it.

The repair was a much bigger chore than I had expected. I couldn't find any helpful Utube videos. The only hint
I discovered for my exact model offered this: "To replace the display cover you will need to remove the dispenser assembly. To do this, remove the drip tray and place your hand on the bottom where the tray was. Push down and pull straight out and this should release the dispenser cover. Remove the dispenser cover and you will be able to gain access to the cover to replace it."

The drip tray came out quite easily but, try as I might, I could not get the dispenser assembly to come out. It didn't budge a bit. I resorted to using a 1-inch thin putty knife and carefully prying around all edges of the assembly. I managed to do this without breaking the numerous tabs that hold it in place. It was then a fairly straightforward job to (1) unplug all the cables and remove the assembly (I cleaned it up while I was at it); (2) remove the screws that secure the display panel's circuit board; (3) unsnap the tabs that secure the cover (several tabs broke off, but who cares); and (4) carefully snap in the new cover (I first removed all of the old foam-seal adhesive). Then reinstall the screws, reconnect the cables, and carefully snap the assembly back into the door.
